After reading the article I now understand the meaning behind the picture and the real struggles that Indonesians have went through during the pandemics. Due to the lack of signal students arenβt able to fully have their educations. Since most schools are closed students have to take online classes but how can they with no signals. Some students have to climb trees and work on the road just to get a little bit of signals to get their class done
After reading this article, I see the struggles of the Indonesian civilization. Students over there lack education or they aren't getting any education at all. It sucks that the urban areas aren't struggling as much as the rural areas are. Cell signals are very poor which forces students to travel long ways or climb very tall trees just to get a signal to join class and download assignments. Also, if they can't do that they have to wait for their parents to get home to download an assignment because there is only 1 phone shared among families. This is what Indonesian students have to deal with until the pandemic is over or until more cell towers are able to be put up in 2022.
@Rocelys Crizanto I agree that the struggles that they have to go through is real. The fact that they have to do the most for classes and at the end of the day donβt get much work done is devastating. I wonder how disturbed they must be feeling. I feel annoyed and stressed taking my online classes so imagine them having to go above and beyond to even have to find signal to take class.

After reading the passage it says that there was an issue with having internet access in Indonesia which cause the student to lack education. Having this the teachers and students are not able to work in their educational environment. After reading the article, this left me dismayed because it shows the differences between students in NYC and students in Indonesia. Students in Indonesia are experiencing so many difficulties because of a lack of cell service and devices. They have to walk miles to Kenalan, climb trees, or work on the roads to get strong internet connections. Furthermore, some teachers would go to these students' homes to have small group lessons because some can not afford phones. The reason why I think they are in Southeast Asia is because the venue for this photo with their costumes has reminded me of Vietnam or Indonesia. @khaja At first, we thought you were wrong about there being a camera because we couldn't see it. We just saw the camera stand, but then we looked again and we saw an iPhone on that camera stand. The man must be using his iPhone as a camera.
Did you see the hole in the background and all of the plants and paints? Did you notice the plug? So, if the plug is right there, they must be by a house or a store or a garden house or something.
These people are filming an educational video. I came to this conclusion due to the book and all of the video equipment. They are in Asia.

When I first looked at the photo, I thought that it might have been a news report of sorts. However, then I took a closer look at various details in the photo. The two individuals in this photo are dressed in casual attire, and the man is recording using a cell phone. Which means that this isn't a news report. Secondly, there are (what appears to be) children's books next to the woman, and bags of soil to her left. That being said, based on the casual attire, the plants that appear ready to be sold, and the children's books, I believe that these two people are advertising for a fundraiser to purchase books for children.

In this photo, what I was able to gather from looking at it was an Interview/ new story going on most likely focused more towards younger kids in elementary school type age based on the book, magazine, and hat to the left of the lady. Another thing that gave away the fact that this is an interview is the man to the right of the photo with a phone on a tripod, and his computer connected to it to make sure everything is being filmed properly. The lady also has a microphone in her hands, which is also connected to the computer. So even if there wasn't an interview going on, there would be a recording of sorts to capture the lady announcing a message.

This seems, to me at least, like some sort of educational video shooting. Based on the surrounding environment and hat sitting upon the woman's head, I would guess that this was taken somewhere in south-east asia. (Of course, because I have not spent too much time studying various cultures, I could be completely wrong.) One thing that I notice is that there seems to be a second hat right beside the woman. This could mean that she is shooting a video on a specific culture, or that she is expecting a guest. I feel there are too few people within the frame to accurately tell whether or not this was taken before or during the pandemic. Finally, I would like to note that the man taking the video is barefoot. I think that this implies that the man may not go to the city often, or that the area this man resides in does not have many paved roads. P.S. Now that I think about your observations it makes a lot of sense that the shelf would contain gardening supplies because the background of the photo contains many bags of soil and several plants.
I can see a young girl is hosting a show which aims to educate the children and the man is recording the video using the camera and laptop. The children's books and the props i.e. the hats with the figures depict that the host uses a visualization technique to teach online.

An idea not previously mentioned today is your reference to what you refer to as sheltering, noting the materials could be bamboo. You also notice the man is barefooted and possibly represents something about his financial situation. What do you see that makes you say poverty as opposed to being barefoot might indicate something about the weather conditions?
Our 3rd-grade group thinks this picture might be about an interview or a commercial for a plant sale. The woman with the mike could be in the commercial and the man is the cameraman. Someone also thought maybe they were playing or pretending because we can't see a big camera and the computer is not showing an image.

I think that the photo is perhaps depicting an educator recording a lesson for her students.
The reason why I think that the woman might be a teacher is because she has beside her two children's books and a hat that has been decorated by a child. The hat that she is wearing is also decorated. Perhaps the hats were decorated by her students.
It could be an advertisement but if this were the case she probably would not be wearing a casual outfit and flip flops and the recording would probably be more professional than just a cell phone recording.
The setting of this photo is most likely a southeast Asian country such as Vietnam, Malaysia, the Philippines, Cambodia, or Indonesia. I think that this might be the case because the style of hat that the lady is wearing (a conical hat) originated in Vietnam and Indonesia.
Another reason why this photo might have been taken in southeast Asia is because the plants seem to be tropical species and it looks as if it might rain heavily. This would make sense because southeast Asia is almost entirely a tropical climate.
The photo might have been taken in an impoverished area because the person taking the recording is not wearing shoes. It is impossible to know the reason for this, but it might be because he does have everyday shoes.
The reason why I think that the lady might be recording a lesson is because in the past several months students across the globe have not been allowed to attend school due to the spread of Covid-19.
I have a few other notes.
I do not think that the recording is a news report or commercial because the background of the photo seems to be a privately owned area or a backyard. I think that this is the case because there seems to be a storage area for food or spices and there are many garbage bags. These things would not likely be in a public area and a news reporter or advertiser would not likely record in someone's backyard.
Another note that I have is that although it does seem like a teacher is recording a lesson for her students during Covid, it is possible that this is not the case because the absence of masks could imply that this photo was taken before covid.
However, there are other possibilities as well. The two people in the photo might live together hence the reason why they are not wearing masks while together.
Another possibility could be that the two people do not have masks available to them, they do not want to spend money on masks, or they do not have the money to buy them.

I think that news reporters are in the highrises of a tall mountain reporting details about books kept by them. I know this because the lady is holding a microphone and the guy is recording her with the camera and computer. Just like news reporters. I know are up high from sea level because there are fog and clouds in the background. I know they reporting about books because the books are also in the background. They could be there to report about plants but the plants are certainly not captured in the camera because of the angle the camera is set up in.

It seems as if the people in the picture are setting up or have set up to film a video for younger audiences, my inferences and observations come from the fact that the lady in the picture has a book or some type of short story which appears to be a children's book. The set up consist of a computer, microphone, and some type of charger. The man in the picture seems to be as if he will be the one editing and recording the lady speak as she is holding the microphone. Due to the global pandemic the generation is currently going through, it may be difficult for children and families to obtain some sort of resource to education. The lady seems to be providing that for younger audiences. The internet has many new ways to obtain and receive information and education. My thought is that the lady will upload the video to the internet so that the children and families have a way to access education and story telling for younger audiences.

The items that give me this prediction are, the children's book next to the woman, and the camera/computer set up. After looking at this picture I have concluded that the lady is someone that lives in this area and is a news person. She seems to have a little more money than the guy recording. The guy that is sitting on the floor seems to be recording her talk, they have a microphone, laptop so that was evidence to prove that they are recording something. I think they are probably talking about a storm that has happened because the wooden things in the background seem to have fallen. They are possibly in a remote village judging off the fact of the loose outlet and not very advanced setup. I think I am looking at a cameraman and journalist in a Southeast Asian country reporting on a collapsed or damaged infrastructure, probably caused by heavy rain. Interestingly, their setup seems a bit crude from this angle. I see two people on a brick-paved cliffside which is surrounded by rainforest. Judging by the rainforest and the appearance of the people, I think the location the picture was taken in is somewhere in Southeast Asia. Considering the location, the damage of the bamboo structure was probably caused by a storm. One of them (the cameraman) is a man dressed in a loose shirt and pants with no shoes squatting behind a computer on a small counter and a phone on a tripod which is recording the other. The other person is a woman (the journalist) sitting while wearing a straw hat, pants, buttoned-up shirt, and a pair of socks with sandals. She holds a microphone and appears to be speaking and looking towards the camera. For some reason, the woman has a childrenβs book besides her. I have no idea why, perhaps they are making an educational video for children.
