I appreciate Nathaniel's open-minded yet cautious approach to answering questions about cryptocurrency. The overall message I hear him sharing is to get educated before taking anyone else's advice or diving into an investment.
It's tiresome to hear ill-educated people matter-of-factly state whether it's a simple "yes" or "no" answer to whether cryptocurrency is "good" or "bad". There should be many questions involved rather than solely if one should invest or not. For example, have you ever made an investment before? What is your income vs. disposable income ratio? Have you considered other investments? What ROI would you want to see and over what period of time? Have you researched past price action, swings, and % ROI in this specific market to identify trends? Have you spoken to investors who have both won and lost in this market to learn from their mistakes before risking your own money? Then the series of questions if buying some cryptocurrency is attractive: Are you looking to "HODL" or sell when the price action goes up and the buy low again? Can you withstand big swings in the market or are you better suited to short-term trades? Are you tech-savvy enough to understand the trading platforms that have lower fees for purchasing cryptocurrency? Would you want to minimize your risk by placing stops to automatically sell your bitcoin or other cryptocurrency back to USD if the market goes down a certain amount? If your money is important to you... DO RESEARCH!!
