As a transplanted New Yorker and big Clippers fan, I only got to hear Ralph call games for about nine years. He is one of a kind, a gem, a true pro. I hope that if/when they build the new stadium, there is a Ralph Lawler statue outside. Not sure if they gave him a nudge, and I hope not, but if they did, they ought at least to have let him call a few games per year.
The best was years back when he provided the daily Clippers update on the now-defunct Beast 980. It's so hard to get Clippers info, even in LA.
Anyway, I hope that Ralph enjoys his new life and lives to be 100 years old. Because, after all, "first to a hundred wins. It's the law."

I would hardly call Bend a “leafy city”. Bend is located in a region classified as a high desert. Bend and the surrounding areas are dominated by big sagebrush and rabbitbrush.
We Clippers fans miss Ralph.

Shout out to Ralph from a Portland Trailblazers fan. Thanks for being a consummate professional, a class act and always bringing something extra to the games.
May you have a happy retirement with Sweet Jo by your side.

They are usually the last to know it, but many an announcer has retired too late. I can think of two right now that should. Good for him.
