Aaron Rogers and those Packers continue to dazzle their fans and out flank their opponents week after week. I loved how Aaron Jones did that little "bye bye" wave as he waltzed into the end zone for the 4th time. And here I thought this Packer season was going to be a bust, but to my surprise and enjoyment, the entire team and season continues to be a blast. Go Packers!!!

Bye-Bye Redskins The toxic Snyder era resumes with the firing of Jay Gruden, a talented coach the usually outclassed team played For. Not up to expectations ? Whose ? Sports Illustrated projected them as a 3-13 team, with the 32nd best starting QB in the league and a weak defense. No professional opinion was much higher. With Gruden gone, they won't accomplish that. Of interest is their next game, against Miami. If Miami loses this one we will know they are in full tank mode.

Two stats I didn't see: how many concussions were there this week? How many hits were there that didn't cause concussion but nonetheless did long-term brain damage. It's way past the time to stop supporting this violent "sport".

The NFL is a joke. Half of the teams don’t win each week. What kind of a sports league is that? Btw I would appreciate knowing which teams will play in the Super Bowl so I can make some extra cash.

Now I know everything that happened without wasting hours watching commercials that are only occasionally interrupted by a football game.

Regarding Daniel Jones; dont know how he will turn out but look back at P.Manning and Troy Aikman's first years and they turned out OK. Then again, a great offensive line and great receivers help.

Steelers looked doomed this year. Green Bay still has a tough schedule ahead of it. And how did NE get such an easy schedule for a SB winner?
marty (andover, MA)
@Tortuga The schedule is pre-determined based on a rotating basis for non-division games. It was just a matter of chance that the Patriots were paired with the AFC Central and the NFC East. They also play last year's first place teams from the AFC South and West, Houston and KC. Within that is also a home/away rotation. For example, the Patriots play the Giants and Cowboys at home and the Skins and Eagles on the road. The locations were flip-flopped from four years ago, the last time the Pats played the NFC East. Next year the Patriots will play the AFC and NFC West divisions and will have at least three games on the west coast. This year they have only one game outside the Eastern time zone, in Houston. It's just the way the rotation works.
Casey (portland)
@Tortuga NE has the easiest schedule every year. They also play in the easiest division every year.

An incredible stat posted during the Pats-Skins game.... In 100 years of NFL history, starting QBs age 42 or over were a combined 3-8 before this season. Tom Brady, age 42, is now 5-0 with the Giants and Jets for upcoming games.

Jesse Owens had blinding speed in any era. Data crunching/science has demonstrated track surface changes, improved coaching techniques, equipment, etc. has produced new records. One look at Owens stride on film can show you that. He defined fluidity. Rest assured the Pats have the best medical care on earth at Harvard, Brady is on a strict diet and exercise regimen and finally his offensive line has protected him better than any QB in the 100 years of NFL play. He also has an extraordinary coach using modern football techniques. Records follow as night follows day particularly with the monies available in modern sports.
