What Is Your Favorite Musical Instrument?

As a musician of multiple instruments I find it quite difficult to pick a favorite instrument both to listen to and play. I have played the keys of a piano, strummed the strings of a guitar and hit the head of a drum all of which I am filled with excitement and love for an instrument. These instruments are in my own eyes all very unique and have their own sounds and abilities but they will all always be great well rounded instruments. So instead of picking one of the three instruments mentioned I'll tell you about my experience playing clarinet. I owe the clarinet for much of what I have today: friend's, experiences, memories, a majority comes from playing the clarinet. I've played for 6 years now throughout my middle school and high-school band programs and had a blast learning and making friends along the way. Like all instruments, the clarinet will have its learning curve and that's ok. I think music should be a bigger part in education and in our lives in general. Music is art that brings people together but also has so many benefits in learning other skills. Even though more people should take up a musical instrument I don't think it should be a requirement; yet, music education should be encouraged and more appreciated.

Everyone here is saying piano, violin or guitar, but for me, its the trombone for sure. It can play so many different genres of music from classical to pop to jazz. And it just sounds awesome. I have played for 4 years now and I would consider myself a pretty good player. It's sound to play and there's no other instrument like it.

My favorite musical instrument is probably the drums. I don’t play the drums but it’s on my bucket list to definitely try and see if it can be a cool hobby of mine. When seeing someone perform I’m always drawn in to the drums the whole time. I love how loud they are. I think another reason why I enjoy them that much is also the beat they can create too.

I have played the piano since I was 10, and still, it isn't my favorite instrument. In my opinion and experience, I think that it is hard to love the most the instrument which you play when you spend a lot of time to practice on it and listen a lot of his pieces. In this year I start to invent a lot of time in my instrument, the piano- I start to go to music class in the school and I start to learn piano whit a new piano teacher who demand of me a lot of effort and invent. Therefore, in a lot of periods of this year, I hated the piano because I listen a lot of pieces of it in the classes and practice on it more than I used to in the past. It took a lot of time to get used to it and even started to like the piano and listen to him in my free time and in concerts. Today, I love to play the piano and practice on it every time there is a chance, and started to diversify my music taste when I listen to pieces that written to more instrument than piano like chamber music, symphonies and concertos. Therefore, my favorite instrument is the cello, because I love his sound and the pieces that written to him, but I still love the piano. I think that today, student that don't play instruments don't like classical music because they don't spare to it in their childhood and in classes in school.

My favorite instrument is the piano. When I was younger, my parents decided to get a piano. my mom at the time was the only one who actually knew how to play it. It stays in our living room for many years. every few years my mom would decide to open it and start playing a couple of songs but most of the time it was closed and never used. Only recently I decided to open it up and try to play a song. It was so old that some of the keys were stuck down and they wouldn't work but I still tried. I wasn't very good but it didn't take me long to learn a couple of easy songs. My mother took lessons when she was younger so whenever I started to play she would always help me when I needed it. I know a couple of short songs like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star or Mary had a little lamb, but I think the longest song I know how to play the piano is Beethoven's Fur Elise. I think the piano was very interesting as you can play different genres of music with one instrument. You can tell how the person playing is feeling or thinking just by the way they play the keys. Currently my school does not have any music classes or programs, most likely because it is new. I hope in the future that someday we will have music class as music can be very important and can help in creative learning and many students.

In my opinion, music is absolutely valuable. In other words, students have to take a music course. Since music is not only fair for everyone, but music is also one aspect of art, which is very necessary for people. Let me explain it. Fairness, which means it is available for everybody, is one property of music. Everyone can touch into musical field. If you cannot sing very well, there are extensive instruments else, which are available. Basically, the first reason student should be required to take music course is the absolute fairness. Well. Next, what’s the meaning of “one aspect of art”? People who have ever experienced art. I mean learning painting or music. Such people possess an unique skill, which is the ability of determining and evaluating products of art. The ability makes people different. Imagine students have learned about music, they can hold special points to listening music. This makes everyone special. Also, music can establish sort of creating ability. They can put their thoughts about music they are good at into the music, or can discuss with others. That is a good way of stimulating students’ views and making friends.

While I am quite biased, my favorite instrument is the violin, and I’ve been playing it since middle school, so about four years now. I started playing as a part of my elective music class, and like many people, I originally chose it because it was the only string instrument I knew. There was a single moment however, that cemented my love for the violin. And that was when I got the opportunity to play with my city’s orchestra. It was part of a program where musicians from all over the city could perform alongside the professionals, with a place for people of all skill levels. Motivated by my music teacher, I decided to join as an extra credit opportunity. During the concert, there was a song that only the orchestra played. I was sitting next to one of the orchestra’s players, so I got listen to the music firsthand. I was blown away. I was mystified. I couldn’t get over how beautiful the violin sound and how well it blended with the instruments around it. I was whisked away by the performance, bobbing my head up and down to the beat. (Later, my family laughed at just how goofy I looked) That day, I learned the difference between listening to it and being in it. And I wanted to be in it.

Out of every instrument I have heard, I have to go with the one I play which is the violin. I’ve been playing for about five years now at middle and high school levels and I don’t think I could live without it. The day I picked up my instrument for the first time was a day I could never forget. Just being able to move some hairs across a few strings was so fascinating to me at the time. Not only is it a fun instrument to play, it has also created so many fun memories to look back on and will hopefully make new ones for me in the future. Yes it’s just a violin and over have the class also plays the violin, but I don’t care cause it is more to me than that. It allows me to create a beautiful music for others to enjoy as well as for myself.

I love the piano. It's definitely something that takes a lot of effort and practice to become skilled at, but, for me at least, it's worth it one hundred times over. I used to hate having to go to piano lessons ever week and convinced myself that I didn't have enough time to practice, but now I'm so glad that I can recognize being able to play the piano as a privilege and be thankful for it. Making space for the piano in my life is one of the best decisions I've ever made. I doubt that I'll ever be able to choose a favorite song on the piano; there are just too many variables. Every song is unique and has it's own time and place. There are some songs that I absolutely love to play but don't enjoy listening to and vice versa. The most valuable thing I've gained from playing the piano is being able to channel myself into the song I'm playing. If I'm feeling angry, I'll sit down and play a fast, harsh, and loud song and feel so much better after. If I'm feeling sad, I'll play a slow and melancholy song, and find a bit of peace. Music is like therapy for me. Another good thing about the emotional connection that comes from playing an instrument is that I don't even have to have already felt an emotion for me to play an emotional song; it'll come to me. As much as I channel myself into the music I play, it channels itself into me. I feel such a deep connection with the music that I can get lost in it. I've even cried while playing some songs before.
Joseph Godwin (Hoggard High school Wilmington, NC)
I feel as if people are attracted to sounds that express great emotion. I have both played and heard many instruments in my years, but there is no sound that has touched me as the one produced by the human voice has. To me, it is the most beautiful instrument of all and in its sound, you can hear the very soul of the singer. It is easy to translate one's thoughts and feelings into the voice as if it is a direct translation of idea to sound without any vocal training you can captivate others with the emotion of your voice. Unlike instruments like violin and piano years of training is not needed to learn expression and make a beautiful sound. Also unlike those instruments there is a large variety of timber, range, tone, and color among voices no two being the same. In the songs chosen by the guest writers, I can hear the mastery and level of expression in the performers. I felt as if the songs themselves told a sort of story. Another thing that made them beautiful was their intricacy but, a song does not need to be complex to be good. One of my favorite vocal songs is a rendition of a Korean folk song called Arirang Alone. The song is about Dokdo, a small Island historically disputed by Japan and Korea to this day, and basically says how the two Korea's could meet there in a place they could consider Korean. In the song you can hear the struggle of the Korean people as well as their hope for unification and ,because anyone can sing it that makes it so cherished and iconic.
Ruben. B (Atrisco Heritage Academy)
@Joseph Godwin I really enjoyed your take on voice as an instrument and I think more people should if not take up an instrument maybe try singing out. I'm sure not a lot of people wouldn't agree with that saying that it would be too embarrassing but I think there are some people out there who their idols they look up to are singers and rappers. voice is a very important thing and through singing can prove that you don't need to have a musical instrument to be a musician because you are the sound.
Patrick Temple (Hoggard High School)
There's so many different instruments and sounds that artist can choose from. I really like what Zachary Wolf says "the mood keeps shifting- touching melancholy, anxiety, clam, hopefulness." That statement could not be true for the songs that truly speak to me. I feel an important way to make your "mood" you need the instrumental to make those lyrics. Songs can have really creative and crazy lyrics and I won't like the song if the beat doesn't appeal to my ear. The piano is an instrument that I only enjoy to some degree. Do I listen to songs that are only piano, No. Do I like songs that use the piano, defiantly. After reading this a had to dig deep in my saved music to find something I thought used the piano well. There's an artist that goes by the name Watsky, he has a song that's very heavy but uses the piano in a way that give goosebumps. My personal favorite instrument changes all the time. I love the synth, the bass, a lot of random horns, and almost any percussion sound. A song that I really like is called Nights by Frank Ocean. The song has probably one of my favorite instrumentals ever, the lyrics are amazing as well.
Candy Alvarez (Hoggard High School Wilmington)
While I play two instruments, the viola and piano my favorite is the piano. It’s my preferred instrument because of how diverse it can be with music (not just because I think it’s easier). With the piano you can express all different types of emotions hope, despair, anger, and joy. My favorite piece to play is Claire De Lune by Claude Debussy because of how serene and calming it is. It’s a song that gives you sensation of drifting alone in the ocean and the crescendos feel like the waves lapping against you. It’s a truly beautiful song that I enjoy playing. The piano is just a wonderful instrument full of so much history and culture. Especially when I play an old piano and feel the weight of the keys under my finger pads, I can just imagine all the others who have played before me. Just the feeling of pressing the right cords and creating a beautiful sound brings so much satisfaction to me. I just feel so grateful for the opportunity to be able to play it.

Ever since I was little, I've loved electronic music. Whether it came from an electric guitar or a electronic keyboard, I would always be able to find a rhythm to jump around to. I remember when it was around the 2000's and my mom would pick me up and spin around singing to Cascada (Everytime We Touch), Rihanna, Justin Timberlake (Sexyback), Kylie Minogue (Can't Get You Out of My Head), The Black Eyed Peas, etc. My family is very close knit so I look back at our mini parties together and remember me, my cousins, my aunt and uncle, and parents all in the living room jumping around together and just having fun in each others company and that alone gives electronic music a special place in my heart

Although I greatly appreciate the different styles of instruments and their significance in history, I understand and work better with the online instrument of FL Studio 20. This program allows you to create and piece together different sounds and turn them into songs. I have been working with this program for about 6 months now and I have no regrets. I have experimented, deleted, saved and explored so much, and yet I have only scratched the surface of the many possibilities it offers. A cool thing about FL Studio 20 is you aren’t limited to the the options in the program. You can record yourself playing any other instrument and add it into your piece. Ranging from the piano to a saxophone, whatever you like to play can be used. If you want, you could add vocal recordings to your instrumental. It’s the versatility of the program that first caught my interest. When Zachary Woolfe commented on Chopin’s Nocturne in E flat (Op. 9, No. 2), “While the pulse is steady in this piece, the mood keeps shifting,” this triggered a thought in my mind, you can create these same moods yourself with FL Studio 20. If you want eerie piano keys, go to town; or maybe you want heavy bass to blow the listeners speakers, it’s all there. Starting this online instrument can get complicated and pricey (there is a free demo version), but once you learn and get comfortable with the program, your imagination can run wild.

During the summer of second grade, my mother scheduled my first violin lesson. Since I was a very young child, I have always been astonished by the sounds of a violin, and how fluid violinists look as they play. It was one week before my first lesson, when I fell off a gymnastics bar and had a compound fracture in my left arm, AKA, the arm you hold a violin with. This event caused me to have to push my first lesson back to a year later, and I had never been more frustrated. Although I was unable to play this instrument until the third grade, I believe this long wait brought motivation and excitement to the time when I would finally be able to play. Today, I am a sophomore in high school and have been playing for nearly eight years. Not only do I have a passion for playing and learning new pieces, but I love listening to others. I know it sounds cheesy, but there have been times where I am brought to tears listening to different pieces and concertos. I can easily say that violin is my favorite instrument, and I hope to grow in skill and to continue learning more as I grow older.

I've been playing piano for as long as I can remember. From just tapping out the notes to songs I enjoy to actually taking lessons, the music just soothes me. I also took flute for a year and completely fell in love with it. I would retake it in a heartbeat. I remember finding the notes for songs on the flute and transposing it to work on the piano. Chopin's Nocturne Op. 9, No. 2 is one of my favorite pieces. When I listen to it, it feels familiar. Its something I've heard many times and it brings back feelings of memories that I can't quite place but still connect to. Half of the music I have downloaded is just piano covers of regular songs. One of my favorite bands, Jukebox The Ghost, released a solo piano version of one of their albums. Its my favorite thing to listen to when I need to focus. I wish more than anything that I could be proficient in piano. The feeling that you can convey through just one piece is something no other instrument can bring forth. I think music is something everyone should have somewhat of a skill in. For example, I am no star in anything musical related, but I do possess a capability of many musical instruments like flute, piano, guitar, recorder, and voice. Hallelujah Junction-1st Movement by John Adams is such a beautiful piano song. I first heard it in the movie Call Me By Your Name, which features many beautiful piano compositions. If anyone wants to get into piano music, I suggest listening to that soundtrack.

I am in love with guitar. I really enjoy being able to pick up a guitar, wherever I may be, and produce music from it. Its portability and size make it very easy to transport, which is an admitted downside to many larger instruments, such as the piano. However, the portability of it is not what anyone should care about. What is important is that, when you play an instrument, it should excite you. It should arouse legitimate emotion from you, and for me, the guitar does just that. Acoustic guitar holds a special place in my heart - I love the richness of the sounds you can make with an acoustic guitar. But regardless of whether a guitar is acoustic or electric, the guitar allows the player to play multiple notes at once. As a musician who has played wind instruments, most of which only allowing one note at a time, the feeling of having the freedom of playing multiple notes is something that I love about the guitar. I can play chords, and there is an almost infinite amount of ways one can play the guitar. You can vary your tone through how you pluck the strings; you can bend notes, slide around the strings, use a metal piece on your finger. And the guitar can be used in every genre of music, too. It is utilized in rap, jazz, country, pop - it really is prevalent throughout all of different genres. Guitar is - and will always be - the instrument that I hold closest to me.

I have played the piano since elementary school, at my parent's encouragement. I am still playing in high school, and even if I sometimes don't want to practice, I still love to get on the piano and play to my heart's content. Because of this, I would have to say the piano is my favorite instrument. I marvel at the way it can be played softly or loudly, like its original name, the pianoforte, or soft-loud. You can play it loud, banging on the piano for an exciting piece, or you could play a soft, beautiful piece, with your hands flowing across the keys. I am so glad I was told to play the piano. Learning new songs, from any time period of genre, is very interesting and fun, trying out different ways to play. I think back to all the different songs I have learned, each one unique, but still all beautiful, played on a beautiful instrument.
Kathryn Meehan (Hoggard High School, Wilmington, NC)
My parents encouraged me to play the piano at the early age of five. At that age I wasn't too exhilarated about the idea of sitting at an instrument and playing for lengthy periods of time. For my elementary and middle school years, I took on the task of “tickling the ivory”, as my Dad calls it, daily. I didn't have any gravitation towards the art. Though I played piano for years, I had little passion for it. I would only play out to practice for recitals or to please my parents, but I wasn't married to the idea of playing piano. Part of the reason why I didn't love it as much was because no matter how hard I tried I always struggled with harder concepts that others seemed to master with ease. I did rebel in my middle school years and took a break since my first year of high school. When I play now, I wish I studied the piano more so I could move onto more difficult pieces quicker. Today, I appreciate this instrument more. I got back into practicing the piano after a short interlude. I enjoy it more now, because I one day want to get to a point where I can play, with ease, as I sing with it. My passion for singing fuels my desire to get better at this art form. I loved the clips from the article. They encourage me to practice more as I would love to play beautiful songs like the examples given.

Although I don't have a considerable amount of experience playing the guitar or piano, I can at the very least say that as far as the freedom goes when playing- It feels so amazing! Oftentimes, whenever I came across rough patches in life I would take to playing around with my guitar or occasionally mess around with my keyboard. Personally, I preferred the piano rather than the guitar because it gave me more freedom and was also "easier" to play than it was the guitar. I also very much enjoy listening to a variety of popular songs many of which include piano or keyboard in their composition. Albeit, i'm not any sort of expert on playing the piano or guitar I still do enjoy playing them as a sort of leisure hobby even though life has put them on hiatus- I still occasionally try to catch up on past songs. One of my current favorite songs that include both piano and guitar is, "My Way" by Ava Max. I really enjoy the beat especially as it always gets me hypnotized and I always somehow end up dancing even if just bobbing my head or tapping my foot. Maybe someday i'll get back to my passion of playing the guitar but as of right now life seems to have it's way with me...

My favorite instrument is my voice or other famous artist voice.Ever since I was young I always loved music whether it was to sing or to listen to others sing it brought me joy and it brought me light and showed me what it's like to express your emotions in a beautiful way.Others may say that your voice is not an instrument and say that the only instruments are the ones you play and used your hands and there's no such thing as an instrument that can be play without your hands. But then again there is and it a common instrument people use but it's different not many people can just learn to sing and there good at it I mean don't take it it the wrong way but you can learn how to sing note and other thing but it just might no be that good as others who never practiced or know that they could sing.

Having played piano for almost ten years, I can definitely say I have a soft spot for the comforting white and black keys of the instrument. Not only is it my favorite, but it also stands as a constant in my life, becoming a passion of mine when times in my life became tough. I like to believe music to be a sense of therapy, an outlet one can release their angers and anxieties into during troubling moments, while creating beautiful symphonies at the same time. The piano has played an important part in my growth, showcasing to me the importance of creativity and patience, a factor that I still struggle with. Piano, though a diverse instrument, takes diligent practice and dedication. It teaches you the allure in taking your time and learning new pieces, a mix of harrowing thumps and silky keys. Music is significant in my life and I believe I would be truly lost without it. Though I completely grappled with it as a beginner, the more I played, the more my passion became prevalent. It taught me many lessons that I still use today, and will forever carry with me.

Picking it up from the corner of my room where it neatly resides, bringing it into tune as the old tuners creak and pop to the movement of my fingers turning the pegs. There is no such thing as limited freedom and creativity when playing the classical guitar, which is what makes me so incredibly passionate about this instrument. When the nylon strings roll against my fingers while all my other fingers are plucking along, it brings me great tranquility like no other musical instrument can. What first drew me to this instrument was learning about my Spanish roots, coming from my great grandparents. I wanted to submerge myself into the culture they loved and lived through, and choosing to play their music seemed like the correct choice, and it was. My guitar was gifted to me from a long time friend. It’s small, a bright wood color and has beautiful red and white designs around the sound hole. I named her Lark, as there are birds flying through the fretboards. I like to see this as symbolism for my hands, as tiny as they are, flying across the frets to the tone of the music. When playing the guitar, you’re free to do anything, as free as a bird would be. No limits, just you, your hands, and a passion for what you’re doing. Because, just like a bird, you are spreading the sweet sounds of music that come from deep within your soul. And I feel as the classical guitar does just the trick.

When I was a little girl, we would drive to Woodville, Texas where my great grandparents lived, once every month. I would ride in the car with my siblings, and we would get to my Poppy and my Grandma Dodie's house at ten in the morning. They lived in a small house, but the kitchen and the living room was my favorite part. In the kitchen, they had one small window that looked out into the backyard. They had a goat and a horse on their neighbor's side of the fence. My Grandma Dodie used to slice up apples and me and my siblings would feed the animals. She always had a chocolate and coconut pie, and her and my Poppy would sit in their recliners, while we talked. My Poppy would say "Darlin, would you go get me a slice of that pie?" and my Grandma Dodie, always the host would serve us all. One of my most vivid memories is going to my Poppy and Grandma Dodie's church. We would sit in the pew, as the baptist preacher called out for "amen's". Then it would be time for the choir to sing. My Grandma Dodie would sit at the organ, and play, while my Poppy would sing with the choir, his warm voice standing out. . After church, my Grandma Dodie would sit me next to her on the organ bench, and her hands would guide mine to play. She used to tell me that music is a gift that lasts forever. I started playing the piano when I was seven, and my Poppy and Grandma Dodie used to listen to me play on the phone. My Poppy bought me my piano. Now, whenever I play, I remember them.

I don’t have a favorite musical instrument. I play the piano and the guitar. I have played both of these instruments since I was six years old. My family is very musical orentatentaed. My grandfather is a musician. Everyone in my family either has or has a piano or a guitar in their homes. Music has been everywhere I have gone. It follows me where I go. I have been in plays, I play the piano and guitar to my family, and sometimes we will all play an instrument all together. Music has always been in my life and it will always be in my life.
Cameron C. (The Greene School, Rhode Island)
My favorite musical instrument is the piano which many other people enjoy as well. I enjoy listening to it and hearing the wonderful music produced by it. But it is also my favorite instrument play. I have played the piano for 2 years and it is extremely enjoying to play. I am very drawn to string instruments because of the different string instruments sounds. And how hard it looks to play string instruments rather than other instruments (in my opinion). A song that would show people why piano draws me the most is Clair de Lune by Debussy. I am move by the pianos unique power because it has a multitude of different sounds that you can interpret differently and the different range of emotions that the piano can give you.
Kaitlyn Brown (Hoggard High School, Wilmington, NC)
My favorite instrument has to be the acoustic guitar. There is something about hearing an artist play a song acoustically that makes it utterly beautiful. With an instrument such as this, people can strip down even the most upbeat of songs. I love to watch my favorite artists take one of their songs and do it acoustically. It seems so authentic and raw when this instrument is used in a live setting. The acoustic guitar also has a lot of versatility. It is used for so many genres,m and each one has a different sound to it in order to convey something different in the music that it can play. All sorts of artists from country to alternative to pop use it in completely new and unique ways that has made me fall in love with this instrument.
Andrei Mistreanu (Hoggard High School, Wilmington, NC)
My favorite instrument to listen to, without a single doubt, is the calliope. Although it is not a well-known instrument, it has proved itself within the entertainment for centuries without its audience ever knowing it. At the surface, the calliope simply looks like a small piano which produces sound through a method of horns. It is most commonly used for circus performances and other comical events and creates a characteristic “light” and “happy” sound. When I think of a red-striped circus tent, I most certainly hear the calliope. The first thing which drew me to the calliope was one of the earliest experiences which I have ever had at the circus. I was around five or six when I went to the circus with my father. There, many colorful and happy things such as elephant riders and ringmasters appeared before us. But, just as the circus performance was coming to an end, the calliope began to play and out drove a small, polka-dotted car. Many colorful and joyous clowns climbed out and performed a performance which was, to my six-year-old mind, the most genius and hysterical performance I had ever seen, all complemented by the calliope’s beautiful melodies. My father and I would go to the same circus over the years, and each time we both laughed at the clowns and their calliope music. So to me, the calliope is much more than just a “circus instrument” -- it is a memory of the good times which I have shared with family.

My favorite instrument would have to be my voice it is an amazing instrument that I use every day it amazes me how something I take for granted daily is so powerful. It has the ability of an instant expression without any kind of instrument, it can interpret thoughts and feelings into such a melodic sound. It's how mothers soothe their crying children. Whenever i get anxiety I take deep breaths and just belt it out. I love how you can be in whatever mood and still be able to sing a song about how your feeling .It has so much depth and emotion. many times instruments imitate the human voice because it's pure expression in feeling. The human voice can reproduce melodic and rhythmic instruments. It is the most versatile, natural instrument capable of sound in existence.

Playing the Piano. I've been doing this since the age of five. At a young age, I never loved it but now I have grown to love it. I play for others, but what made me fall for this instrument is how I played for myself as well. The piano is so much more than an instrument to me. It's something that is attached to me, something that has never left my side. It's the one thing I can bang my emotions out on, and the one thing I can tune out the world with. After a song, I feel renewed. I am a different person. At the end of every song, every lesson, every note I crumble deeper and deeper into the hollow strings of this instrument that is so much more than a piece of wood and metal. It is a life changer. I listened to the article's songs like "Chopin's Nocturne in E flat" and "Scott Joplin's "'Solace'". The pieces are familiar to me and even though classical isn't one of my favorites to play, it is one of my favorites to listen to. Music is important to me. I can't imagine my life without it, and I find it incredible when I hear of more and more children learning music as I once did. Trust me, I never liked it either at first, but after a while, you get used to the feeling of an instrument working with you to produce something even words can't describe. That is the beauty of an instrument.
Evan Rodriguez (Houston TX)
I started playing piano when I was eight but stopped shortly after. Although i stopped piano stayed with me and i found a love to listen to it. Piano makes my creativity flourish, sometimes i can picture a story go on in a piece and sometimes its just that mood that puts me in a more focused state of mind.
Hannah Jackson (Hoggard High School, Wilmington, NC)
I’ve been playing piano since elementary school and while I’ve never had a burning passion that drives me to make piano my life, I enjoy learning new pieces and playing for others. It’s such a unique instrument since it can be both loud and soft at the same time. Pianists can use both hands to create a beautiful melody only available on the piano. Angie Wang writes a response from Zachary Woolfe that says, “While the pulse is steady in this piece, the mood keeps shifting — touching melancholy, anxiety, calm, hopefulness.” Piano allows you to have so many different emotions, many of them overlapping each other throughout a piece. You might feel happy one minute, sad the next, and then calm and peaceful. Of course, other instruments can do this as well, but it’s my opinion that the piano does it the best.

My Favorite instrument is probably the Guitar. I feel like the guitar can definitely show someone’s talents if they know what they can do with it. I also feel like The Guitar can get someone’s attention and seriously make them smile.

My favorite instrument is the guitar. I think this way because it is one of the easiest one to play.

My favorite instrument would be the violin. An instrument that gives out a majestic music from drawing the bow across the strings. Even though the instrument is known to be a classic instrument instead of a modern day instrument like an electric guitar, the smooth vibrating sound coming from a simple wooden instrument can cause a soothing tone. Although the violin is a difficult instrument to learn to play, I would love to practice how to make beautiful music from it.
