I gather that it's unusual that in Brooklyn, we were so aware of all the details about Bridget Biddy Mason, I assume because of what we studied in school. But even with visits to L.A., I only knew of the Chandlers because of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, which I seemed to hear about on TV all the time. (When I was really really young, before I knew that "pavilion" was a word, until my mom corrected me, I'm told I thought Dorothy Chandler Pavilion was an L.A. great lady like NY's Vivian Beaumont Allen or Kitty Carlisle Hart.)
