Is that a cat on the counter? Note to self: turn down next dinner invite to Rita’s house.

@Nicholas Balthazar
You can probably safely accept the invitation if it is to Ms. Moreno's house. The photos and the cooking took place at the "Midtown Manhattan apartment of Jamie DeRoy, a Broadway producer." I assume the laissez-faire attitude towards the cat was Ms. DeRoy's.

Could we get the recipe, please?
I love you, Rita.

I keep seeing requests for a recipe. Why would anyone need a recipe? Why are people so hung up on recipes? Everything is explained. All the ingredients are mentioned. You can see the dish. You don't need a recipe. And, by wonderful coincidence, Mr. Sam Sifton, the New York Times Food Editor, has an entire section on cooking without recipes.

LOVE the cat on the countertop!

My daughter’s high school choral group had the honor to sing with her at Epcot’s Christmas festival. At the time I would bet those kids had no idea what an honor that was. She’s amazing.

I will soon be 85 and I have been a fan and admirer for over 50 years. She is truly an American Master and I am certain she will be a star when she is 97. Whatever the secret is, she clearly has it.

How could you omit Googie Gomez?

She is a true legend and pioneer. But I am wondering about her playing a "pivotal supporting role" in Steven Spielberg's West Side Store remake. I am such a purest when it comes to musicals and I'm sorry, but unless it's the owner of the Bridal Shop where Maria works, what female adult role in the musical is considered "pivotal"? (And the owner is just a but, not "pivotal" Maybe they will change the sex of one of the male adult roles? Add an adult female character not in the original? Yipes! Help!

@Jason
The original ‘West Side Story’ was perfection. Why spoil it with a remake? !!!
3
Perfection indeed. It is my favorite in the musical genre and overall my second best movie of all times followed by All About Eve.
What is spielberg going to do to make his version, if anything, memorable, than the original..............And should'n the parts/roles be played by real Puertoriquenos ? Afterall, it was the puerto rican gang members vs. the whites who were afraid of change.........

@Jason According to Deadline Hollywood, "Moreno will be playing Valentina, a reconceived and expanded version of the character of Doc, the owner of the corner store in which Tony works. "
What was the Grammy for? West Side Story seems to have covered the Oscar and Tony; The Rockford Files the Emmy.
@Farmer D Ms. Moreno's 1973 Grammy was for the Album, "The Electric Company" in the category of "Best Recording for Children." She shared the award with Bill Cosby.

@Farmer D
With Cosby for the album The Electric Company 1973.
@Farmer D shes the hey you guys in the electric company song (i dont think the grammy is for that particular part though but it would be awesome if it was)
She looks marvelous! Talk about aging well.

It's called Botox and other assorted chemical makeovers.
Where's the recipe?

@Texas Democrat
It's in the story, just combine the ingredients.

She is one of the 10 most beautiful women in the world; then and now!

She’s amazing! I’ve loved Rita Morena since the age of ten, when West Side Story first arrived on the scene...and I sang all the lyrics of every song, dancing around my parent’s living room. She’s still got it at age 87...what an inspiration!
(West Side Story is on Netflix, too)

@Michal
Correction: ‘Moreno’
Love. Her. If this is what 87 is like, I want to be her when I grow up.

Did Max sign a non-disclosure agreement promising not to publish Ms. Moreno's recipe?
7
I was hoping for the recipe at the end of the interview!

Can one still watch Electric Company anywhere? Especially when she was The Director intimidating the likes of Morgan Freeman and others? They cringed and cowered. She was delightfully imposing, commanding.
9
She plays Lydia - Rivera - and she is THE star of the show. I wish I would be as lively at 87. Only wishing.
