Trying not to get into controversial Trump-related issues! :)
"Hillary Clinton is coming to Broadway, but as a character in a play.”
Tune of “On Broadway”
[Imagining Hilary’s reaction]
They say I’ll have my name in lights on Broadway
On a marquee like Hamilton and Cher
Will we sell out each night like Bette?
Or score our stars a statuette?
I hope that Bill and I will see you there.
They say they all want premium on Broadway.
They can’t afford their rent, but here, they'll all pay.
And though the top price makes me blush
And though the crowds and critics gush
We’ll save front row for student rush - on Broadway

Plan to construct a spur from the LIRR terminal at Jamaica right into Kennedy and get rid of that stupid, underused sky train. Some of the trains can have stops at Woodside and Jamaica. Woodside would serve people from Queens and Long Islanders who use the Port Washington line. Jamaica would serve people from Queens plus eastern Long Islanders.
If my idea is implemented you will be able to board a LIRR train at Penn, (and eventually at Grand Central), and ride that train all the way into JFK. No switching trains, no needless schlepping of luggage from train to train.

Every time I arrive in NY I’m so happy that it doesn’t matter how good the airport is and every time I leave NY I’m so sad that it doesn’t matter how bad the arport is! :)
An express train connecting JFK to Manhattan (like Milan-Malpensa) would be good!

@Beatriz, yes, that's how I felt when I went last fall and in July from New York / Newark to Fort Lauderdale / N. Miami Beach. Great to get there, so easy (and cheap) to get from the airport to family, so easy (and cheap) to get back to the airport, and great to just get back to New York from Newark, too.
When I did a Seattle trip in June, getting from SeaTac Airport to my destination in Redmond / Bellevue was costly and a major chore, as great as the time in Redmond / Bellevue was - and I will likely only do that trip again when I have a real occasion.
(I love noting that "Bellevue" has a totally different meaning there. Our associate producer lived in Bellevue, a stunning Seattle suburb, and seemed to really have no idea what "Go to Bellevue" meant here in New York. Both pockets of the cabs offered "Bellevue Magazine." There, it means you're rich!)

Freddie, thanks for replying! I Love your comments in The Metropolitan Diary! Cheers from Brazil

As for the BQE:
Some Brooklyn Heights residents say just reroute traffic onto Adams, over to Atlantic, and then back onto BQE. Many drivers do that anyway. You cannot fit three BQE lanes full into same.
Best to fix it lane by lane and take longer, starting now.

While there's no way to deny or repudiate all the comments about the slog to JFK, LaGuardia or even Newark Liberty, there are also some things that aren't quite so bad once you get there...like the food!
First, because there are so many options -- and many are healthy or famous Chef-inspired too.
In fact, airports are the new proving ground for foodies since travelers sometimes spend so much time there.
You can go Vegan, get fresh Sushi from Tokyo's Tsukiji Fish Market, or splurge on a Custom Berger by Pat LaFrieda.
So bring your appetite and check it all out.
Full diclosure: I write about Airports ... and love to eat.

@N. Smith, I never find the good Newark airport food places near my gate! But my folks are in N. Miami Beach, near Aventura, and Shula Burger at Fort Lauderdale Airport is the greatest airport waiting I've found. People polled online hate the waiting time, but I've never seen the bad-service issue there! (The Mexican restaurant next to it looks great and everyone eating there looks sooooo happy, but it always seems packed.)
The bus from Fort Lauderdale Airport to Aventura mall is so incredibly easy and cheap. It's almost like they want to encourage people to visit. :)

It’s easy, add another runway. The taxi time often exceeds the flight time on shorter flight and with 2 new terminals it will become even worse. Just like with the subway, Cuomo is focused on adding glitz rather than upgrading the backbone of the system that desperately needs upgrading.

Please, a speedy direct train to JFK from Manhattan! PLEASE!

What I could never figure out is why most of the coffee shops and restaurants are outside f security, while past security the options are awful or non existent. You have to buffer a lot of time to get to JFK and to get through security, so eating or relaxing before security isn’t going to happen.
Is there any way to remove the fake cabbies? It is embarrassing to watch people get shaken down in crime free New York. Welcome to New York, I am here to rob you, is what they should say.
Is there a way to get people to stop hovering in their cars on the Belt and the airport roads waiting to pick some one up?
Why is JFK the only international airport that charges for baggage carts? They are free in every other country. Welcome to the USA, $6 to ease the hassle of your luggage,

“And don’t forget: Monday is Columbus Day.”
Tune of “They All Laughed (at Christopher Columbus)”
We’re all dissing Christopher Columbus
Having his own holiday.
We’re all hissing, take his big parade away.
We all wonder if it’s been a blunder
Since the days when it begun
Stop all the praising, his acts should get hazing
Look at what he'd done.
We’ve dissed each banner and float
Every costume we once wore
And each song they wrote
Should be sung and hummed no more.
But we say don’t throw out the tradition
Just give Chris a parting “Ciao.”
So no no no - Still take the day off -
No no no - Though Chris was way off
No no no - Still take the day off now!

ALTERNATE TAKEOUT
Coffee shops deliver, you know,
Danish and java or a sloppy joe
To auto owners sitting daintily,
Patiently, Buddha-like, even saintily,
While traffic agents make their way
Down the block in a morality play
Punishing those on the wrong side
Of the street where legal parking's denied.
Breakfast customers await
Buttered rolls at a twice-weekly rate
Leaning on the steering wheel
Of their Corvette, a sight in brushed steel,
BMW, Caddy or Ferrari,
Cars that never leave drivers sorry.
Breakfast for them takes an hour and a half,
Until it's safe to finish their 'caf
And make it opposite in a 10-second glide--
Only here, on the Upper West Side.
