All hail Amanda Duarte, The Queen of the Rucap! Teaching history and contextualizing current political horrors to the children (with a tenth-grade reading level) through the magic of Drag Race- may we all be blessed with her drag commentary years beyond the Age of Aquaria.

I really feel like the crown could have gone to any of the finalists but I was surprised by Aquaria’s win. Granted her looks were on point throughout and she got better throughout the season. But I don’t agree that her ability to articulate has improved. To be this was Eureka’s year. Overall I thought the finale was not as strong as last year’s the lip syncs were not that entertaining. I liked Asia and hope she can make it past her poor choice of a reveal. Thanks for writing such entertaining recaps. And please continue to put as much of yourself into these recaps as you’d like!

Not a fan of reviewers who put more of themselves into a piece than focusing on the show itself. Love the show, not the writer's commentary. Readers of the NY TIMES deserve better.

I usually look forward more to reading Amanda's reviews than I do to seeing the actual episodes. These write-ups should be nominated for a Pulitzer.

Everybody say 'Love': As Asia stomps on confused and bewildered butterflies, as Rupaul, celebrity of the establishment, goes on to trash Trump and give false credit to Obama for gay marriage passing into law. The show was the worst. The recent constant in our face of BeBe, the boring first queen who should never have won and did so only because she is black and African and wow what a great fako statement for Ru Paul. As a matter of fact, I like this show but the political crap is boring, I despise anyone who attempts to sway the way I feel politically and the inference that all gays are just alike and therefore must vote as a block of people who only have one issue thus disallowing any individuality in homosexuality! The pressure is real! And then these queens, their mouths still open from Trump bashing, turn around and praise religion: The real influence against them. Get real, girl friend! Get your facts correct. And stop this over the top lip sync for your life finale that lead to the bad judgement of Asia! After all, Trump is president and guess what RuPaul's drag race is still on television. And why didn't all these homosexuals scream and yell about Nixon, Reagan, Bush, Bush. No they never really did! This is more of The Establishment telling Ms Rupaul that to have a job in hollywood, you better work at bashing Trump!

Eleanor, come on now, lighten up!

Eleanor, this show isn’t for you. Please don’t watch it. No one needs to read your poisonous Trump apologist nonsense. The LGBT community is under attack from this administration and it will get far worse with the new Supreme Court. Stick to NCIS or whatever pablum doesn’t disturb your delusions. Vive la revolution!

Regarding homosexuals historically never complaining about other Republican presidents, ever hear of Act Up? To quote the inimitable (& deeply spiritual) Monique Heart, “facts are facts!” To post so passionately about a silly gay reality show about drag queens and cloak it with some crazy political conspiracy theory as a means of defending an incompetent president who does the indefensible on a daily basis is completely bizarre to me. Maybe Eleanor should just stick to ‘The Apprentice’ re-runs as her choice of entertainment instead of trying to grasp a celebration of queer positivity that has miraculously hung around for 10 years? I commend her for trying though. We need more Eleanors to speak out if only to demonstrate, once again, that the fight for our rights is never, ever over. Sometimes a wedding cake is just a wedding cake, ya know?

We get it. You don't like Kameron. Sheesh. However, a well written piece with a beautiful, uplifting ending. Thank you for that. Love. Vanjie.

I think your dislike of Kameron and love of Aquaria are both a bit overboard, but you wrote a nice ending.

Tearing up. Love the piece!

Tammie is on tour with Trixie and was when they filmed the finale a few weeks ago. That's also why Trixie made no appearances. (But what a beautifully written review, anyway).

I was heartbroken for Asia. I really wanted her to win but Aquaria is amazing and a worthy winner.

Amanda Duarte, this is one of the finest and funniest pieces of arts criticism I've ever read. Bravo, brava, brav-x!
Chrissy (NYC)
Wow, so much love being shown to a person (RuPaul) who has a confirmed history of negative attitudes towards transgender people. But yeah, keep giving him all your love.
Jaclyn Backhaus (Brooklyn)
Queen Amanda, we don't deserve you.

Another great recap to end the season! Thanks!
