When I saw this picture was that the students seem to be celebrating something that they all achieved. Such as a graduation or they were helping some sort of organization and the students finally reached their goal. I thought this because of the expressions on all of their faces. The picture to me is showing how people from New Zealand are representing their culture . It's amazing that the students are taking interest and really learning about their culture as well as putting effort into learning their native language . From what I have seen in the past, these facial expressions look similar to the expressions made in tribal dances performed by indigenous New Zealanders.
Embroidered onto the blazers, the words "TE KURA KAUPAPA MAORI O NGA MOKOPUNA" are written, which translates to "recognition of the schools" which leads me to believe that these are a group of students. I also noticed that this picture could have taken of Polynesians, based on their facial structures, and because the writing on the blazer seems to be in a Polynesian language. Hmm, I’m actually finding myself to come up with a lot of ideas regarding this picture but it just tends to confuzzle my brain with the actual concept of which is going on. This picture was most definitely taken in a different country because on the jackets within the emblem, the words are written in a different language. The people are wearing some sort of uniform, some are only wearing a red button down and the others are wearing a blue tie and sweater vest with a white button down and a black jacket with some circle emblem on it. Both the boys and the girls are wearing these two outfits so there is no gender differentiation. Can the outfit represent two different sides or teams? This has to be a big gamer or reenactment of some sort. It seems like it could be a school event or organization. Or it could also go in the whole other direction of a game and really be a huge political scheme. They are carrying what seems to look like makeshift weapons fake or real, I am unaware while others are carrying plants. I think what's happening is that students in New Zealand are performing a native chant together. The patches on their clothing says "Kura Kaupapa Māori" which is a language immersion school in New Zealand that celebrates the Māori culture and tradition. Some of us think this takes place at a school, and some of us do not. We think that this might be held at a prison because of the type of structure in the background on the left side. The long poles might be used to represent an agreement or disagreement. As an alternative they could be involved in a ceremonial dance. One idea for why the kids have their tongues out is because they have childish behavior. A different idea for the tongues would be they're part of a ritual dance. After looking at this image I can see a large group maybe hundreds of young adults or teenagers that seem to be in a yelling and mad for some reason. These people look to be students at a campus maybe a college or high school. I think these students are protesting for something they want the school to stop or do. The school may have done something wrong and the students want them to stop, it could have something to do with the walkouts for school shooting because that is a large topic in schools today. I believe this because the people are dressed to go to school and some are in matching coats. They have their mouths opened wide like they are yelling and they have long wooden sticks they are throwing in the air. Another thing that I noticed in this image is the two students on the right are wearing matching blue coats with a patch on it. The patch is yellow and blue with lettering on it, the lettering is too small to read. I think that they could be part of a group or club that are protesting for something.

Another hypothesis that I have is that they could be from a school and there is some kind of celebration because they all look like they are yelling. I think that they are university or collage students just based on the way they look.
What's going on is there have a protest about the learning of plant in there school. You can tell its a school by their uniforms and its about plants because some of the students are holding plants. There doing it in a silly way because that's is the way they think to teaching them about plants. The sticks there hold is because some though they would not look big without stick so then they put sticks in there hand and they the news saw these and got scared and took this picture.

Students from Sea Whether High are participating in the local movie awards. The theme this year is to remake a fantasy movie. These students chose one of the most well known movies, Harry Potter. To win, they decided to make it their own. Keeping the main theme, they changed the script to be more current. One of the best moments is when they did their own version of quiditch. In this photo the students of Westover County Private School are going on strike. They are tired of having to wear the same uniform every single day. The strike has been going on for about two weeks now, and the students decided that today was the day they took it up a notch. They all gathered poles, and they beat the principles car with the poles.
I think that in this picture they are celebrating something important that occurred in their culture. It's in New Zeland and this is a tradition that they make weird faces and starts to scream, they are in a high school and they are trying to show how they dance and/or practicing their dances.

The lady all the way to the right is holding some kind of plant so I'm guessing they are by a water source. The reason they went to this photo shoot is to have a break from all the chaos at their school.

In this picture they are doing a Haka because of the weird faces and they are dancing. They are all joined together to remember the fallen, the ones who have died in battle. They get together and sing a song in loud voices and funny faces. Some of them are students because they are wearing a school uniform. Others are probably citizens of the town or city.
I see there are people running out to see the people that need to go into the main building in the back of the parade. As I see there is a parade going on to represent a military school that needs more people to come in because the rest of the people are leaving because there time is up to be here because they have been there long enough.

I believe this is a certain event which is related to Maori warriors, and I found three reasons that support my idea. First, I can see the people whose tongues are out with big eyes. Second, they seem to scream to the front. Finally, they hold colorful poles with decorated by fur. I have seen these three things in Maori traditional events before.

One guy looks like he's singing, and other people are holding plants or sticks to show some type of symbolism to their culture. They aren't in America because their crest on their uniforms is a different language.

In this week's picture, there are many people, and they are look like colleges because they are quit young. They might be cheering something in a competition, I think. However, I don't know exactly what kind of game, why they hold sticks. Look the emotions on their faces, they might be very excited. Such's silly faces, especially the young girl on the right side in this picture.
I wonder that what is exactly event that they are attending?
In this picture, I see some people that they are college students because of their uniforms. They are not the same college because of their uniforms's color. They celebrate something. And taking a picture. All the students open their mouth. Some of them show their tongue out. I want to know what are they celebrate?
In this photo, we can see several young adults in uniforms holding some sort of stick. I believe that the clothing is part of a school uniform which all students are required to wear which explains why most of the young adults are wearing the same clothing. Since I believe that they are at school, I think that this photo could have either been taken at a school sporting event where classmates are cheering their friends on or at a school assembly. This assembly might be about ancient rituals, and the sticks in the photo could be ancient ritual sticks. I believe that the students are learning the what these sticks are used for and how to perform certain cultural rituals with them. When I look closer, I can see that the girl in the right foreground of the photo is holding some sort of plant. This could also be included as a part of the assembly where they learn about ancient medicines and healing traditions.

I think these are students (due to their uniforms) and they must be playing a game since they have weird sticks. They seem to be around high school seniors or college students. They have a different language on their coats so they must be from an Asian country maybe. They seem like they are posing for the picture.

I agree with Brady J. It looks like they are cheering for something, I think for their school team. Look at the expression, I think they are very excited. Some students are also screaming like they are cheering.
In this photo, there are several men and women cheering. They are dressed some what nicely. Some of them have their tongue out and I think that means they are really excited. They have poles in their hands and I'm not sure what they are for but it seems like they are at some kind of festival. It looks like there could be a school.

I think that this is a class of an academy or private school because of their uniforms. They're having a march or festival of some sort. By the expression on their faces they look like they've accomplished something.

It seems that people are getting ready for a game or sport, possibly a game called quidditch from the Harry potter series.
What makes me say that is that they are all holding sticks that could serve as brooms, also they are all wearing uniforms.

There appears to be kids out doing a haka dance, a Native American heritage dance. They all seem to wear semi-matching uniforms with a crest on them, which leads me to believe that they’re all from a school. I also see that they’re holding sticks, maybe it’s a part of the dance.

In this picture, I think students are holding a parade of some sort of tradition. I see that they are holding sticks, which seems to me as a part of a ritual or something like that. I can also see that the students look like crazy, but in a false way, which indicates that they are being directed to act crazy for the ceremony.
This picture caught me off guard for a second due to the violent and aggressive expressions shown upon the faces of the people. In this picture I think this is a club/group that is doing a march or a meeting of some sort. Something that I noticed was that not everyone was wearing that black jacket, there are some wearing them and there are some wearing red shirts. This may be because some have different jobs in the group that are more important or more involved. Another feature I noticed is the aggressive faces, they can be sowed to intimidate others and show power of the team.

There are a group of people that seem to be students because of the way they are dressed. They are making silly faces and seem to be having a lot of fun. I think school year might be over for them and they are excited for summer vacation.
Good thought that the cause behind the children's joy in the photo is that their school year is over! But look deeper into the photo. Why are these children holding sticks? Why are they still wearing what appear to be uniforms if the school year is over? Is it their last day? Also why is one of the girls in the photo holding a plant? What could it be for?
In this image, there are what appears to be maybe highschool or college students in a crowd yelling with sticks in the air. I noticed that in this photo some people are yelling, or sticking their tongue out. There are also two different kinds of sticks, wooden and blue plastic. I also noticed that some people are wearing black dress clothes or a maroon dress shirt. Some people also seem to be holding leaves. If you look at the two people in the front of the photo they have a patch on their jacket. The patch says te kura kaupapa motuhake o tawhiuau which is a school in Murupara, New Zealand. I believe that there is an event or gathering happening at their school maybe for sports, school spirit, or politics.

In this picture, I see students that include boys and girls. The way they are dressed looks like they attend a private school. All of the kids are making wild faces and they have different colored sticks in their hand. I think that they could be at some kind of sports event or something that happens at their school every year. Another thing the students could be doing is getting out for summer break because they all look very happy. The girl to the right is holding a leaf thing. It looks like some sort of plant. I wonder why she is holding it.
In the photo it looks like theirs two different groups. One group has green and black on and they look excited. The other group is wearing red shirts and they have their tongues out. Each group has both genders and different attitudes. They have swordlike sticks in their hands rallying together for a cause. In the background I see a building that might be a church and a castle. In the picture there are students that seem to be doing the native dance that people in New Zealand do. The dance has people making 'scary' faces and taking out their tongues. The people look like students and have school uniforms on. They may be in an event and it's also a way to start matches.

In this picture this people graduated from high school and they are happy because they passed.
How do you know that these people graduated from high school? Are the clothes they are wearing part of a school uniform? Also, this photo doesn't appear to have been taken in America, and many countries structure their education system differently than ours, so how can we tell that they are in "high school?" These kids are protecting on a Harry Potter convention. The Harry Potter convention got shut down because someone broke in but the people that own the place wouldnt give the kids back their money. The kids got so mad the brought out there sticks and started shouting at the owners. They were so mad that they couldnt get their money back after the place got shut down.

These young adults are marching proudly out of the Hogwarts School for gifted children(Chicago Mental Asylum). And these student have just received their Degrees(Certificate of Sanity) and are very excited to get started with their magic(Prescription Drugs). The parent of these young men and women are very proud (worried) and can't wait for them to succeed.

In this week's picture the New York Times has traveled over seas. When they arrived to their destination the were greeted by the UWC (University of w]War Cries). The UWC was established for all cultures to come together in peace. It was doing so well that the people started to share stories of wars. Then it evolved to the people using different methods of war cries to make new ones. It became very popular and many students still attend and have came to welcome the people with their very own calls.
In this picture a horde of students are marching with colorful sticks to a festival. These kids are in high school and in middle school because of their classy uniforms and how tall the kids are. These kids could be celebrating freedom and that's why they are making these crazy faces with laughter.

They also have an emblem on their shirts. Many people are matching with either a red shirt or a blue sweater with a green tie.If you zoom in, the emblem says The Kura Kaupapa. When I looked it up, it was based in New Zealand and it was an immersion group for the Māori group.

In this picture there are a large group of teens it looks like from two different schools because one group is wearing burgundy and the other group is wearing green. So they may be from different schools or different grade levels. They all seem to be holding staffs and screaming, probably a rally cry against rivaling schools or groups. This could all be a school against school competition for fun
I think that this is a tribal ritual for the native people of a land. I believe this because I know that the faces that these people are making are often used to reenact what the ancestors of the native people of certain lands used to do in front of foreign peoples. Also, the patches on the jackets of the man and woman in the front have writing in a different language, which could be native writing. The poles they are holding could by ancient tradition and part of the ritual.
Looks like a festival or a graduation where they’re celebrating something.
