I'm even more into this if they displace "showtime" dancers who bully their way onto trains, intimidate people into making space for them, and then berate passengers who don't give them money.

I was bullied by those "showtime" dancers, because I expressed my displeasure and told them to be careful (as they kick-danced their way around the car, to blaring "music") and ran to the conductor at the next stop to request he get the police. I got back on the train and it pulled out immediately so I doubt anything was done about it. All "performers" should be banned from the subway. If only no one gave them money, it would all stop.

thank you for this story

In these times we would do well to heed the apostles John and Paul that “all you need is love”; great story!

Just recently, I read a comment suggesting that Paul McCartney is the greatest artist of all time. I had a difficult time wrapping my head around that idea. Picasso, Leonardo, Warhol, Richter.... McCartney? The greatest every? My 7 year old son has developed a fondness for McCarntey's first post-Beatles album, RAM. He hums along, having memorized the lyrics to "Monkberry Moon Delight". This article reminds me that there just might be something to that idea of McCartney as the greatest artist of all time. Period. A towering cultural icon.

The man wrote "Jet." I like the Beatles, but case closed. www.newyorkgritty.net

The quality of subway performers varies widely, but some of them make fantastic music. Part of the joy is the surprise element, as well as the contrast of enthusiasm and talent against the dreary spectacle of subway travel. Several years ago I recorded a subway performer singing "Natural Woman" on my phone. It remains my go-to video when ever anyone asks me why I could never leave New York.

Saw them at the fest for beatle fans in jersey city this past weekend. They were great and all the fans there appreciated them.

What would -really- be great is if Paul, a longtime New Yorker (and occasional straphanger!) joined them one afternoon, perhaps at Grand Central, on the 7 line...there are great acoustics down there...

I encountered the brothers shortly after the 2016 election. I'd left work, enraged over comments I'd overheard on a radio station, and was trying to calm myself. After a few moments of listening to these two beautiful young men and the sweetness of their singing, I wept. Thank you, Amiri and Rahiem, for your musical tonic. I wish you success.

What a pleasure. This makes my day.
