I earnestly hope EB will judge appropriate my rejoinder to the commenter who was critical of me because I wrote that, compared with comedians of past generations, today's "comics" are not very funny, and I pinpointed Fallon, Oliver, Meyer, Noah, whose snide remarks about those of the Jewish faith while he performed in S.A. hurt feelings of many. Jokes about those of the Jewish faith being run over by drivers in Volkswagons are insensitive and unnecessary. Ironically, there is more humor in Henny Youngman's line, "Take my wife...please!" than all the jokes of today's "comedians" put together! Who with any intelligence and who is discerning wants to hear bathroom stories or references to vital functions?

I appreciate efforts to make us laugh through the pain, but public humiliation of serious people who are serving the country in good faith is distasteful. These clips seemed like the late night hosts were joining in the derision. We all like to laugh but it would be more funny if Trump was not actually playing Jenga with the government and its administration. It is not a game and it will not be funny when it topples.

These paintings by Damien Hirst, they are like fabric at JoAnn's: they sell by the yard. Besides, they are too big for your living room, but good enough to get you a nice tax deduction when you donate them to the local museum l-- first, hire an "expert" who will value them at five times the price you paid. Does anyone remember the exact Italian quotation about "give me a million" and "I will testify it is a Giorgione"?

I'm not sure why the left is so proud that all the late night guys trash the president. I know you don't get this but that's seriously deranged if that's what excites you. That's a sickness that needs psychological help.
Fallon completely ruined himself though. If Fallon was gonna join the Trump bashing train, he should have started long ago before a lot of loonies stopped watching his show and got their hatred fix by watching Kimmel or Colbert. He's not gonna get them back now and now he's gonna alienate the people that stuck around that most likely enjoyed that he didn't get all political like the other 2. Talk about career suicide. Unfortunately, I don't think this is his choosing. I think he's just feeling the pressure and he might not have had a choice. Either act like the other 2, and kill your show, or don't and we fire you.

OMG Bob! So right. Bashing a POTUS who lies six ways from Sunday, has allegations of fraud and assault pending in several courts, who took $100 M in laundered cash from Putin's billionaire Ruski pal (you can look all this up in real estate filings and court filings, honey).... It's just So Messed Up. They shouldn't be making jokes, they should be volunteering to serve on Robert Mueller's staff and do whatever it takes to move this crook out of the WH and into a cell. Bring in Pizza, tell jokes to the lawyers on breaks, run the copiers. Thanks Bob, for setting us straight.

It's not too late for you. You can still get psychological help. Don't live your life in lunacy and bitterness. That's not a way to live. The president of the United States, no matter what side, doesn't affect my life and shouldn't affect your lives the way you're all allowing it. Like I said, it's not too late. Seek treatment, you'll enjoy life more.

Humor gets more ribald , but less funny. They all are so predictable: Fallon,Noah,Kimmel,Colbert, Meyer. Too bad for those who are nostalgic for real humor on the level of Dangerfield, Schandler,Bremer, Frye who were genuinely humorous but not vicious. But have never given much credit to contemporary audiences who get their news mainly from their Smartphones. Extremely inappropriate for "comedians" like Noah. Oliver among others to come from abroad where their careers were foundering and try to recussitate said careers by insulting 61 million of us who voted for the Donald! Incessant anti Trump drumbeat by the liberal media is not appreciated!
Another voice of reason. Why, indeed, should two brilliant and successful comics with a good handle on reality try to insult (or educate) the 61 million who voted for a pussy grabbing guy who called his own daughter a piece of ass and took hundreds of million in illegally laundered rubles to cover his debts (that case is gonna be so much fun) when Donald Trump is insulting those 61 million voters every day!!! Tax Cuts for the .01% of whom you and, am gonna say, 60.5 million Trump voters are not the lucky ones. If you don't appreciate the truth, turn on Fox. Don't read Krugman or Bloomberg or WAPO or any data base, don't read the entire tax bill, or learn math past 4th grade. Take a nap.

Tillerson should have resigned after the "moron" debacle when he still had a shred of dignity left.
Now, he's left with no dignity or credibility.

I think that Stephen Colbert was 99% correct. There was obvious collusion, but the GOP members don't want to risk being "taken out" for criticizing or even that suggesting that Putin or Russia had anything to do with the 2016 election. Russia and Putin have already assassinated their people in England and Europe on the basis of "disloyalty," and frankly, it is only a matter of time before they start doing it here. The situation is like living with an abusive husband. He doesn't need to keep punching holes in the walls or kicking the dog for the wife to get the picture that she had better do what he wants, or else.

The Trump administration has not taken long to make the state department an apparently really lousy place to work. Rex Tillerson seemed to have a sense of decency nonetheless I doubt the state department career path is now anything but toxic.
