We think that this is an Eid celebration because a few of us are Muslim and we know that in our families the men are the ones who celebrate Eid. Also we saw that the men were wearing clothing like we've seen in our countries (Saudi Arabia and UAE). First we thought the car was going to hit everybody but we realized it was parked there in the middle.
I think that all the people in this picture are having a community wide thanks giving in a parking lot around the car.

We think that the scene takes place in India. On this picture, we can see a big gathering only composed of men. They are all sitting and sharing their meal together. As there is a big part of the Indian population who is Muslim, we wan suppose that the scene takes place during a religious celebration like the Ramadan. We can imagine that they are waiting for the hour when they can eat and thus, they decided to share their meal together, because Ramadan is a month of sharing. But on the picture, there is a car set in the middle of the gathering. At first, we imagined that the driver was an opponent of the Ramadan so he came to disturb them, but it didn't work. Secondly, we imagined that the driver was late for his job or for an appointment so he parked without caring about the impact it would have. In this image, you can see there is a gathering of some sort. There are a lot of people specifically men that seem to be religious because of their clothing like the white head accessories. The men in the picture don’t look as if they were in the first class of the population and might’ve simply just wanted to celebrate a tradition or gathering and the car brought and the supplies and is just there.

This image shows some sort of lunch or dinner. It is probably lunch, because there seems to be a lot of light in the picture. You could argue that it is in the evening, and that it could be inside. But then, I would counter-argue that no one brings a car inside a cafeteria. Therefore, this image is probably taken outside, around noon. I feel like this might be some sort of refugee camp, because they seem to be Syrian, and currently, a lot of refugees are leaving Syria. I don't think this is a family gathering for a holiday because no family is that big, and they don't even have tables. They're eating from tablecloth's on the ground. I see Muslims breaking their religious fast (During the month of Ramadan) with an iftar. An iftar is an event at the end of the fasting month where you break your fast by eating dates, then full meals. Iftars are treated as a buffet kind of event where local communities made up of friends and family gather together to eat.

After looking at the photo, I think there is some kind of religious holiday or practice that is going on. I assume the car's owner is perhaps one of the big "leaders'" car and may have the food/drink/plates everyone seems to have in the photo. Although the car is randomly parked there, nobody seems to be taking any real notice to it in the photo.

Something that sticks out to me is the car sitting in the middle of the crowd. Nobody is seated inside it and the people sitting around it do not seem at all phased that their is a car parked right in the middle of them. Maybe this car will be given away to someone less fortunate after the meal.
In this picture it looks like there a lot of people celebrating a religious holiday. everyone in this picture has food and drinks in front of them. So maybe they are having a feast in celebration. Also in this picture there are no women, so maybe what they are celebrating or feasting on is something for only the men. There is a car parked in the middle of the feast or celebration maybe to honor the car or maybe it is symbolic to the celebration.
No one is eating, they are waiting to break their fast (religion Islam). Some people are making prayers (cupped hands) as is traditional before breaking their fast. The location is probably India (or Pakistan) based on the people and clothing (or an immigrant community in the middle east). They are not homeless (as some comments say), they are breaking their fast as a community. The clothes are not the type homeless would wear. The car happened to be parked there when the organizers set up the plastic sheets and the mats so they set things up around the car. The women are not seen here because men and women are segregated (not because of discrimination as some mentioned). The women's area is just not included in this photo. The photo was very likely taken in the month or Ramadhan which is when most Muslims fast.

You can tell that by the fact that many of the men in this photo are wearing caps or headgear that are worn by people who follow Islam. I agree that this some kind of a big feast going on to celebrate. When I hear the words Islam and feast, I think of Ramadan, a month-long period where people don't eat during the time the sun is up. And in this image they are eating, so that means this is Iftar, the meal that people have to break their fast. Finally, I think the car is of one of the people who is sitting down and eating but for some reason didn't move it out of the way
I see that they might be eating fast food or food they all cooked. I see that all the people are men and I think that the men eating together could be for a holiday like thanksgiving and all the men and women in the town or city go to different places to eat food. I think the car is there because someone might have parked there when the blankets were down and didn't see the blankets then people started coming so he or she couldn't get their car out.

This is a picture of a religious gathering. They’re breaking their fast for Ramadan. As you can see by the reflection on the car window, this is taking place outside. If you look closely at the far left corner you can see a man praying before he breaks his fast. In front of them are dates which you eat when it’s time to break your fast. Some people may think that this is a mosque but i believe that it’s taken place outside a mosque. In the picture you can see it’s only men and women and children are separated because in islam a lot of matters have men and women separated. The reason the car is on the middle Maybe so they can listen to Quran.

I can see only men in the photo, I think they are from Pakistan or Bangladesh. They are eating the same food and drinking the same drinks so I think it is a tradition of their religion to gather in a big group. I think they are Muslim because they have their traditional hats (caps) and people in Pakistan are mostly Muslims.
The car is there because someone forgot it at that place (probably a parking lot) but the men do not care about it and have their lunch (?) there anyway.

In this picture there are a bunch of men sitting on carpets with a table cloth with food on it, there is a car in the middle of where the men are sitting. I think that the men in the picture are waiting to break their fast, I say this because in ramadan (mostly in middle eastern countries) people also following the same tradition sometimes sit together as they do in the following picture and wait to break their fast together. Another thing that I noticed in this picture was that some of the men are in an islam praying position which further leads me to believe that the men in the picture are waiting to break their fast and that this is during ramadan as ramadan is a muslim a tradition that goes on every year to commemorate the revelation of the quran. Something else I noticed was the dates on the table cloth, eating dates during ramadan is a usually something people fasting eat after breaking their fast I know this because my family and I also do this as we also celebrate ramadan. I believe this is a group of Muslim men waiting to break their fast at Ramadan. You'll notice that, of all the men win the picture, not a single one is eating. There are also dates everywhere, which are a traditional food to eat upon breaking a fast. A few of them have their hands in a traditional prayer position for the the Muslim faith, which leads me to believe that this is a religious gathering. The car is inconsequential, it probably just happened to be there during setup.

Your comment implies you have knowledge or experience of the Muslim religion, noting the the name of the hat, taqiyah, and when it is likely to be worn as well as the ritual of fasting. You also made a statement about the angle of the photograph and perhaps the person taking the photograph had a certain intention behind making that choice. What more can you find?
Primarily we have been focused on what the people gathered are doing together. For example, @Josue suggests they are giving thanks and @Julia thinks they are praying before they eat and added they all seem to be eating the same food. @Sam N thought this is a picture of a festival and later revised his idea because there is an absence of women and children. Many have commented that the event was well planned. What do you see that makes you say that this event was well planned?
in this picture it is a big group of only men getting prepared to break their fast. What makes me say that is they are all gathered sitting on carpets with table cloths with their food untouched, and some of them are doing a little prayer in their hands, also before you break your fast you are supposed to eat a date and drink water after, as you can probably see there are small looking fruits and drinks in front of them, the car i don't know how to explain very much but maybe they're going to use it as a speaker to play a part from the quran.

Your close looking at the food revealed that the food appears untouched and perhaps they all broke the fast together. You seem familiar with a custom of eating dates and drinking water as part of a ritual of breaking a fast. You have also suggested that the car may serve the purpose of being a speaker although you are not certain of that quandary.

The way that the people are dressed leads me to believe that they are of some sort of religion. Additionally, when looked at really closely, one can see that there is grass beneath them. So, it must be some sort of picnic, and it is a festival. The park may be a car park, and they have settled around it.

This seems to me as to be a food camp in a poor country. People in many countries, most often in Africa, have to get packaged food because they cannot afford their own. There is often not enough room at these places, which can be evident from the packed rows that the huge quantity of people are sitting in.

As a class we see many people sitting on mats, sharing a meal together. We also see a car parked in the middle of the mass of people. Furthermore, we noticed that there are only men at this gathering. Some are dressed in pants and shirts (short and long sleeve) while others are dressed in, what appears to be, traditional clothing without coats, suggesting this image was taken during warmer temperatures. Another thing we noticed is that some men are not wearing any head coverings, while others are wearing either the keffieh or kufi headdress (we looked up these names on the internet) among other head coverings. When we looked up the names of the headgear, we noticed that most are attributed to an Islamic tradition. Therefore, we assume this is taking place somewhere in the Middle East.
We find it strange to find a car parked in the middle of the gathering and are questioning what purpose does the car serce. Because of the large gathering, we believe this is some sort of celebration. But we are stumped on why the car is in the middle. We think it is a Honda.
Concerning the food, some students thought it was pancakes, while others thought it was rice with milk, water and fruit on the side.

This picture shows workers, from India or Pakistan, on a meal break. The first part of this image that lead me to this conclusion was the fact that they were all men. This tells me that either it is apart of their culture to leave women at home, or that they may be participating in a predominantly male activity, such as manual labor or construction. Secondly, this seems to be an organized event by one, or a few, individuals because of the food served. Not only are they all eating together, but they appear to be eating the same food and drinks, which indicates that it was provided to them by someone. Thirdly, they may be in India or Pakistan because of the clothing they are wearing, such as the turbans and kippahs. A turban is a head garment worn by men and women who believe in Sikhism, which is a common religion in Pakistan and India. Also, it is a cultural practice in those areas to sit on the floor while eating.

This week’s WGOITP appears to include hundreds of people sitting back to back on large rugs in organized rows. Since no women are pictured in the image, this gathering is presumably only for men. It is possible that the image was taken in a country such as India or Pakistan because all of the men in the image look as if they come from Middle Eastern descent. Their clothing confirms their Middle Eastern descent because many of the men are wearing a white head covering or headscarf which is common amongst Islamic religions in the Middle East.
While sitting in these rows, it looks like the men are participating in some sort of picnic as for cartons of milk and plates filled with food are visible on the long tablecloth on the ground in front of them. It can be inferred that this is some sort of religious event because arms and hands can be seen outstretched or clasped together as if participating in prayer. The fact that none of the men have shoes on is another indication of the setting taking place in India because it is seen as disrespectful to wear shoes during a religious sentiment. As for the car in the middle of the picture, one explanation for it can be that it broke down before the event occurred and there was no time or resources for it to be removed. As a result, the men may have had to sit around it and continue with their gathering as if it were not there.

The image presents a middle eastern nation, an assumption that can be made based on the typical garb that the men are seen wearing. Everyone is male in this image which tells the reader that perhaps this is a place where women do not have rights to enter this area or simply did not want to attend this venue. At first glance, it might appear that this is as religious venue but there is evidence to suggest otherwise, the first of that evidence is the indistinguishable plates of food between every man indicating that this might be shelter of some kind for refugees because that would be a similar circumstance for everyone to have the same meal. The reason this seems strange is that I don't believe that a shelter has the resources to segregate the men and women, which leads me away from that conclusion. A large piece that draws the reader's attention is the car. My explanation for this car being here is that it was what brought the food and tablecloths to this venue and that it may belong to the organizers of the event. The car also (from this perspective) looks very clean, also cementing the idea that this is a refugee camp because in a warzone, clean vehicles are a rarity. Additionally, an argument could be made that there is someone speaking to the crowd that is causing a majority to look in the direction just below where this photo was taken.

Also, in this picture it appears that they are all eating a similar type of food. Due to the fact that they are all sitting and eating in the same manner, this get-together is uniformal. This appears to be some sort of traditional ceremony. This gathering is most likely a religious custom that takes place at a specific time during the year. Th men gather together in order to thank God and others for what they have. Also, the folded hands and bowed heads could indicate prayer revealing that they are thanking God for the food they have or just the ability to be there with each other. Everyone seems to be enjoying themselves and having a good time. However, no one appears to be talking to the people next to them. Majority of the individuals are staring off into the distance with their mouths closed. The car in the photo does not appear as a threat. It is not moving and no one seems concerned about it being there. I think that a public gathering is taking place. I think this because there are many men sitting down and they are all eating. They seem unfazed by the car in the middle of the picture,so maybe the car is always apart of this gathering.
It looks to be people celebrating in some sort of religious way. By looking at all the people in their clothing, and there is no women and children in crowd. The car is quite confusing on how it got there, but someone could have been under the influence and an alcoholic beverage, and left his car right there, and the people didn't have the time nor tools to move the car so they just decided to deal with it ad work around the car.

Until further examining the picture I was almost certain that a small black vehicle was driving directly through a group of people. Taking a second look at the picture and closely inspecting the image in front of me, I have drawn another conclusion. It seems that this picture is not a protest of any kind, but an outing of some sort. The people gathered are sitting on rugs and have food placed out in front of them. I was able to identify that this was a peaceful picture by picking up on the man leaning against the car. No lights appear to be on and from what I can tell there is no one operating the vehicle. I have concluded that this is a group of Indian men based off of their appearance, clothing wise as well as the way they are sitting to eat a meal. Unsure of the true meaning behind the car, I assume it is there for a positive reason rather than a negative one because there doesn't appear to be any violence in this image.
I have also been able to pick up on another great detail; there are no women displayed in the picture or at least in this frame of reference. Personally, it seems that women might not be allowed to attend this religious gathering as it is for the men only where they sit on rugs and enjoy a meal together. Additionally, it may be a sort of ceremony and they are eating a meal first, but personally I assume this is religious due to the presence of the rugs and the amount of people gathered.

In this picture, some sort of celebration is taking place. This celebration includes a feast which was set up in a makeshift type of manner, located in the streets. A car is randomly parked in the middle of the madness, however it is not on. This celebration is not common, as told by the expressions on the men’s faces. All of the meals placed in front of the men are the same, indicating that it was all provided to them by the same source.
The “celebration” manner of this image comes from the fact that a large amount of people have come together. The feast occurring is indicated by the food placed in front of all the sitting men. The quick way that the feast was set up can be judged by the fact that the tables are set up crookedly in what appears to be the streets, and because blankets are laid down for seating. The abruptness of this feast’s setup is also apparent as a car is parked in the middle of the celebration, seeming like the feast was simply set up around the car, ignoring its location. The idea that this feast is not common is based on the fact that the men are all looking around as if they are trying to absorb every detail of what is going on around them. Something additional that I noticed by looking at this image was that throughout the entire sea of people pictured, not one woman or child is present. A possible explanation for this could be that this feast is celebrating a men’s only holiday.

It can be inferred that they share a similar culture, for there are similarities in their complexion, clothing style, food, and seating. A festival or protest is an event where people come together to celebrate and express their religions, beliefs, and their community. But in this picture there is one thing that is bound to catch everyone's eye. In this image this community is coming together to commit to a peaceful protest. That peaceful protest being that drivers need to be more careful and aware of pedestrians. Not to terminate driving all together but to show the crux, people have to be more aware while driving, of the situation. People are all gathered around an automobile celebrating and protesting together as one. The automobile is the middle of a crowd, almost like it’s driving through the crowd of people. In other words this is showing a simulation of a driver that is not paying attention is “drove” right through this innocent crowd of “pedestrians”. Throughout this picture there is a variety of color, foods, and people. Meaning that anyone can join this celebration or protest. They are all sitting around tables and most likely discussing the issue. People need to know that this issue is serious and could happen to anyone near or around an automobile.
Pedestrians die everyday by distracted drivers . In 2015 5,376 people were killed in pedestrian and automobile accidents, nearly 15 people everyday of the year. This represents the highest number of pedestrians in one year since 1996. This number is still increasing each year and needs to stop.

In this picture hundreds of Muslim men are gathered in a well known area to come together and celebrate an annual religious holiday in which they all appear to have a sense of unity and equality. Each man is sitting across from another man on which they are sharing what seems to be a substantially large picnic blanket with similar foods. The men appear to be Muslim due to the headwear of some of the men and the fact that they are also sitting on carpets which could be prayer rugs as well. Along with this, all of the men seem to be a peace and in no hurry as they are casually eating and silently praying on their own. It is also peculiar that in the middle of all of them is a car that they do not seem to mind. It is apparent that this is some sort of religious gathering or festival as many of the men are praying and acting respectfully and they are all sitting in the same position. Finally, when examining the food you can see that all of the men appear to be eating and drinking the same food items. This also helps support the fact that this gathering is religious because they are all eating equal amounts of food which has some religious importance. Throughout this photo many factors including the headwear, blankets, praying and food make it apparent that all of these men are attending an Islamic festival in a well known section of the city.
Upon first glance at this NY Times photo, I thought that it was an act of violence. Recently there have been many attacks on large mobs of people using motor vehicles. However, this photo appears to be quite the opposite. It seems to be a social gathering, whether with a religious group, a large group of employees, or even townspeople. They appear to be religious because of the white clothing and caps that some of them are wearing. They are gathered for a meal, and looking more closely, one can see the meals are all about the same: the same yellow and blue cartons, and similar food on each plate. This is what makes it seem like a large gathering where food was distributed to the people. Also, the car does not appear to be causing any violence or commotion. There is a man leaning his back on the car, and he looks unalarmed and unconcerned. He knows that nobody is in the car and it will not start to move at any moment.
Additionally, this picture seems to be a cultural event. Everyone present is of either Muslim or Indian culture. They are sitting on rugs on the ground eating, which is not a typical American ritual. Plus, everyone in the image is a man. This indicates that whatever this special event is, only men are permitted to attend. Based off this image posted by the New York Times, a large group of hundreds of men of the same race gather to feast together, probably as a celebration of sorts. No women appear in this photograph, indicating that this festival is probably gender specific to men. A vacant black sedan is parked in the middle of this crowd, however the men sitting around it seem undisturbed. This is indicative that the car is non-threatening; It is probably used for the transportation of sorts. The men have a relatively dark complexion, with a few of the men wearing white hats or dark headscarves, and a majority of them having dark beards, so this photograph was probably taken somewhere in the Middle East or India. Also, the hundreds of men sit on white sheets in rows, with each man sitting back to back with another. The precise organization of the men into rows suggests that the rows may hold a possibly religious meaning. Upon research, these men probably follow either the Islamic of Hindi faiths based on their location in the Middle East or India. All the men in this picture appear to be feasting on similar meals, and each has a beverage in a blue cup. This level of standardization suggests that these men are all acquainted equal, with no man more or less deserving than another. Summarily, the large crowd of sitting similarly dressed men in this photograph are taking part of a religious festival, though it remains unclear specifically which festival they are participating in.

This picture depicts a large group of people taking a meal break during an event. Due to the clothing and hats that many people are wearing, this area and/or the event are likely religiously related. A scan through the crowd reveals no women, which indicates that wherever these people are from, before leaving on their food break, had no women present there either. They are all eating the same meal, which also indicates that a larger organization is running the show, as providing the same meal to everyone keeps costs low. When examining the faces of the people in the crowd, they seem expressionless. None of them look particularly upset, but none particularly happy. The most puzzling part of the picture is certainly the car. Perhaps somebody left it there, and the people just had to work around it? I am still confused exactly of what nature this event is. It occured quickly, since there is a car in the way. There are no women in the crowd, they are all eating the same thing, and they are dressed in similar ways. One thing I am certain of is the mood of the event; everyone appears stressed and on edge. These people are clearly here out of necessity, and all look disgruntled.
This picture seems to show some kind of religious festival or celebration. Many of the men in the crowd seem to be wearing head coverings, suggesting similar religious beliefs. This also seems to be a festival because of the large number of people seated at what seem to be long sheets laying on the ground. Each of these people have food and drinks in front of them. It's possible that the car parked in the center is to transport the sheets that serve as tables and seats away from this location after this festival is finished. This gathering of people could also be some kind of protest meant to block the car in, seeing as the car is surrounded on all sides.

Hundreds of men are sitting on the ground before beverages and food. They each have a canned drink and what appears to be a bread roll. Some cultures have large traditional meals that resemble this gathering. A few men appear to be praying, which leads me to believe that this might be a spiritual feast day.
• What more can you find?
There is a car within the crowd. However, the men do not appear alarmed by the car, so it is likely parked. Perhaps the car is storing food and drinks for the gathering.
I believe it is some sort of religious gathering. There are blankets on the ground where the people are sitting and eating on. From a closer look, coke bottles and bread can be seen in front of every person. Perhaps the car was parked there and the gathering didn't cancel and simply formed around the car. Many of the men are also wearing white hats, maybe as religious symbols.

In this photograph from The New York Times, the photo represents a religious lunch with only the men and the car is parked in the middle to bring back any leftovers. This picture shows a group of men of a certain ethnicity. The group of men did not look happy, they looked like they did not know who to talk to also most of the men are looking the bottom of the photo. These people are in rows with two facing each other and then another row right behind that row did the same thing. These people are all sitting down on a tarp but one row of men are sitting down a blanket. Each person is facing a person in front of them like they are in a cafeteria also each man has a plate in front of them with the same main dish then with fruit on the side and a milk for a drink. The people are also dressed in casual clothes not fancy clothes. In the middle of the people there is a car, there are no lights on and none of the windows are open which means that no one is in the car.
In this picture it appears that a religious feast is taking place in a predominantly Muslim country. One reason for this is that everyone is sitting next to each other in front of large lines of cloths rolled out to eat on. It appears to be religious because you can see in the picture that some people are praying before eating. A reason for the people in this picture being Muslim is they are all sitting on separate prayer rugs which are used in the Islamic faith. Another reason is some of the men are wearing Taqiyah’s which are a form of religious headwear in the Islamic faith. Lastly, it appears to be in a predominantly Muslim country because the mean in this picture have a darker skin complexion, and Islam is the dominant faith of Northern Africa, the Middle East, and Indonesia. The car has been left there by its owners so the men have proceeded with their feast as if it is not there. One reason for this is the cloth they are eating on appears to be cut around the car. Another reason is the car is not moving and no one appears to be in the car. Lastly, the men are leaning against the car and do not seem to be alarmed by its presence.
In this picture, it looks to be a large cultural celebration. I came to this conclusion by noticing that all the individuals in this picture are Muslim. All of these people look to be content with the food in front of them. They are all sitting on the ground which makes me believe this picture is taken in a country in the Middle East where the Muslim population is very large. The car in the middle of the picture is just a way to transport the food. It looks as if the picture only captures a small percentage of the people celebrating because there is nothing in the picture that would show a stoppage of people sitting on their carpets and eating. The cars are just an easier way to transport food to all of the people celebrating. Everybody in the picture looks to be carefree enjoying their meal.
I think they were having a parade celebrating an old car.
Based on the evidence found in the photo, I can infer that is is a festival. The people in the photo are sitting at tables with tablecloths and eating food together. I believe that this is a Ramadan festival because many of the people in the photo are wearing the typical caps that Muslims typically wear. The car in the middle could possibly be an excited man/woman parking his/her car in the middle of the festivities.

In the Islamic Culture, some people think that it is a good habit to sit on the floor and eat. There seems to be a car in the middle of nowhere, but I think it is meant for carrying all the sheets back when they are done eating.

It looks like there is a religious gathering where everyone is united, and they are currently eating lunch. There is also a random car parked in the middle of them.
in the picture it looks like people are eating food. I think the place is a fesitval cause there are a lot of people. The car can be filled with food where people take things out. There are also a lot of people there that can be celebrating for something and having lots and lots of fun together.

I think this is a mass banquet and or its a big indian festival. On the tables they have food and drink and everyone looks like is having a good time. The indian part looks because of the color of their skin in the picture. The car lights aren't on and no one is in the car so that means the car is just parked there. It might have been abandoned and they still wanted to have this feast so they just moved around the car like it was nothing.

I think the photo is depicting a large celebration of some sorts in which a group of people join together to eat a meal. The car in the middle is where some people stored their food and items.
I think this is a cultural festival. I think this because they all look like they are the same culture and they are eating the same food. There are a lot of people which might mean that this is a known event and they might do it yearly.
A large group of islamic or indian men are eating at a sort of picnic or festival seeing how they all have the same drink and similar foods. They are sitting cross legged on the ground with rugs underneath them and plastic table cloths that have been ripped to go around the car. The men are calm and one is even leaning against the car so there is no distress or fear that this car will move. No one is in the car so maybe the owner of the car parked on the land before this started and got in the way so the men set up around them.
It's either a protest or they're in prison because they're having a meal or a cement ground and the paper around the car looks ripped to conform to the car placement.

In the picture people are eating their dinner or lunch in a middle earthen country after their prayers and the people are eating on the stree. Someone had parked their car over the tarp on the street because their was probably no other space.
In this picture I see a lot of native Americans eating a meal, they are all sitting on rugs on the ground, with the table just a little bit higher up and either pink striped table cloth or blue striped table cloth covering them. Also the people in this picture make this scene look very normal, when in reality it is very abnormal. Although I don't know why the car is there, I do know that the car isn't moving and it isn't planning on it anytime soon, due to the people leaning against the car. Also the license plate on the car is very long, so it is obviously from somewhere very different. All in all I think this is a feast, either people who are in poverty or people with big families, or people that can't provide for themselves, maybe for an event or just because.

It seems to look like their is a type of meal going on and they are in rows eating, then the car is parked in the middle of all of the people. Also, I think the car was their first and the people had to work around the car because if you look closely, you can see that the table cloth has been torn where the car is.
