Black cube and their ilk are perfectly comfortable creating fake journalists and fake women's rights advocates to pry out dirt on women who have been raped. In the process they gleefully destroy: a suffering woman's credibility, the field of journalism, credibility of social justice organizations, and the truth. Why is any of this legal? I doubt the ACLU would defend Black Cube's right to lie to, and manipulate the pain of the very women who have been so harmed, in order to heap more harm upon them. Why are groups like this tolerated? Shouldn't anyone who buys their services be in jail?

We have all seen this behavior by powerful white men in movies. The writers weren't making it up. Thank you, NYT. Keep the pressure on these creeps.

As with hacking or intelligence work, you can either choose the white hat or the black hat. This is not a regular job. You are misleading people either to fight against crime, corruption and terror or you are working for whoever hires your services. If you take all comers, there is no reason for the rest of the civilized world to support you and no barrier to us bringing you down. Hevre, you made the wrong decisions here but there is still time to make the right ones.

The rich and powerful have always had access to the myriad of ways to leverage the system for their benefit. Your political affiliation doesn't matter, your religious beliefs do not matter, heck, even your skin color doesn't matter as long as you have wealth. You can use and abuse people and dispose of them as you will. If any of the "little people" dare to speak up, you have them squashed like a bug. We are seeing the impact of social media that may allow some of those who have been abused by those in power to finally seek justice. Private intelligence agencies like Black Cube are more prevalent than the average person realizes. Anything and everything is possible and permissible if you have the money.

The worst part of this article is the statement that Black Cube would donate its profits from helping Mr. Weinstein suppress a sexual harrassment case to victims of sexual harrassment. What does "profits" mean? After we all get paid handsomely for setting back their cause, we'll throw a little change at them? I guess they think we're all stupid.

My jaw is on the floor. This is disgusting. Thank god for journalists.

When will David Boies be held responsible for aiding and abetting serial rape and assault? I'm disgusted. Boies and his firm are the structures that allow men like Harvey Weinstein to operate for years unchecked. It's horrifying.

Black Cube should be investigated for collusion, just generally, isn't that just another word for lying?

This has all the makings of a Weinstein Bros. movie. Life imitates art...

Too late. It already appeared, starring George Clooney and Tilda Swinton, among others.

NEXT: See what happens now that Trump has removed restrictions on US banks by the Obama administration after the Son Of Bush financial disasters! Twice, now GOP administrations, the first ending w/ GB Sr, the second, a Republican between Clinton and Obama, GB Jr. have crashed the banking system by allowing them to be more than tightly controlled institutions engaging strictly in, well, banking. I hope Trudeau Jr. will have sense enough to reign in his nation’s banks and hedge funds so no entity will have cash to waste on very expensive lawyers and their very expensive private spies. But I am very frightened about what will happen with our private banks and financial structure when the Bushes are Trumped.

Um, while I admire that very artful photo of Weinstein that accompanies this story, I have to ask: is that a file photo or is Weinstein really able to take time off from his busy rehabilitation efforts to sit for glib, moody portraits? Unless of course his rehab is centered around his public image rather than his character. That couldn't be possible, could it?

The UK's SOCA report, "What Price Privacy?" accounts for the activity of firms such as this one. The issue was revisited after the UK tabloid press excesses, and revealed the press only account for one fifth of these firms' business. The remainder of these firms clients were legal firms, insurance companies, corporations and wealthy individuals. Those employed at such firms are former intelligence or law enforcement officers well known to traffic in others' truths without warrant for profit. What have they all got up to that requires the infiltration and oppression of their victims' lives just to maintain control over the bloody truth? Do tell.

A lesson I learned at the very beginning of Business Law 101 is that the law is the lowest common denominator for behavior in society. I was a middle-aged adult getting a degree for a new career but this was news to me. I always thought a lawyers work was to protect average people's rights. I had no idea so many of them were corporate/corruption supporters and operatives. Is there any business more corrupt or unethical today? Anything to win. Anything for profit. These kind of "lawyers" - and the judges that allow them to behave this way - have become an ultra-expensive pox on society. It makes one sick.

This sounds like a movie script. And a lot of waste money.

Wow. If 1 agency can pull off such deception, imagine what a powerful country, with no legal restrictions , nor judicial oversight can accomplish? Ukrainian Revolt? Brexit? US Elections?

as I read this, I am not at all certain what boundaries Black Cube can pushed, except for an alleged ccyber attack for which someone received a call suspended sentence. Bois may or may not have ethical problems, and lost a client. but that did they do, with respect to Weinstein that"pushed the boundaries".
