Nice story.

Was that the "Elusive Butterfly" from Bob Lind?

V. Nabokov would love 'it'...

That’s a lovely story Jefre and an equally lovely memory for you to have. New York has always been a city where romantic and magical things happen in real life as well as in fiction. It was no accident that Tom Hanks’s character Sam Baldwin, though “sleepless in Seattle,” met the love of his life at the top of the Empire State Building in the heart of the city on Valentine’s Day.

F. Scott Fitzgerald is reputed to have said, "Too much of anything is bad, but too much Champagne is just right." And Hemingway is reputed to have said of Fitzgerald, “His talent was as natural as the pattern that was made by the dust on a butterfly's wings."

love the simplicity and innocence of this. what if joan didion said goodbye to all that, with a drunken butterfly, and going lightly with holly golightly, and the wind whipping by the 59th street bridge, and the pastel dresses at the old idlewild terminal. It's terminal, I know. Was anyone ever so young? was I? probably not. Were you?

I was that young; but even then I knew enough to capitalize proper names. Touching story, though.

and what have you written (that wasn't to criticize)?

Delightful.
