" Met with Fire and Fury " Trump addressed to North Korea from "They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen ... "

" I bring you Fire and Blood" Lord Varys addressing Lady Olenna Tyrell and Elia Martell at Dorne from "Lannister will be met with Fire and Blood like the Westeros has never seen... "
Amy similarity. DT must be getting quotes from the GOT sources.

They better not threaten us either. Let the word go out to friend and foe alike, don't threaten us!

Maybe the NK leaders could become Nazis. A real conundrum, for Trump.

Resign. That would ease tensions, not only in Asia, but around the world.

This is the one reason I was thankful for the nazi issue becoming front and center this weekend. Last week, it seemed pretty certain that Trump was ramping up toward a nuclear war with North Korea, which would have resulted in nuclear war with China, which would have caused humanity's extinction.

So last week I was going about out of my mind with anxiety that humanity was about to end. Then the moronic nazis started making noise and killed a wonderful young woman. And suddenly, our idiotic leader has forgotten all about causing nuclear war, and is striving yet again to win back all the support he just lost.

I hate the nazis, but I'm not that afraid of them. They're mostly cowards, they're not that numerous, they don't have nukes. I'm much more afraid of nuclear war, so if that can just slide back into the shadows, I'm extremely thankful for it.

Bottom line: the 'elephant in the room' is that China holds an extraordinary amount of US debt, and that alone gives China enough leverage to ultimately get what they want 90% of the time. We know it; they know it. It's not about deal-making. China plays the long-game, and we can't see past the current election cycle.

First of all, they don't. Second of all, how would holding a lot of U.S. debt give them leverage? A bond is just a promise to pay money on a timetable. If they decide to sell it they would at most reduce the value of the asset without hurting the U.S. much.

Mr. Trump et.al. got the job done.

Give credit where it is due.

Very interesting to note for the MSM is downplaying the news that Kim has folded on Guam.

Trump stared and Kim blinked. Now he's going to "wait a little more."

So Kim played shill, Trump folded.

Reading between the lines, it seems that a lot is being done behind the scenes to try and stabilize the trouble-maker-in-chief's behavior. But his constitutional authority still enables him to break his glass shackles at any time and revert to the world's leading threat to peace. (NK is not enough, Venezuela has been added to his list.) The 25th amendment is inadequate to deter this very dangerous person.

Obvious to all open minded is that the strident rhetoric by the president and his defense staff resulted in action by China to bring NK to heel.

Or maybe it was Trump's promise to China to go easy on its trade practices. Is your mind open to that?
Bruski (Naples, FL)
Right on.

Unfortunately, "The Closing Of The American Mind" has come true.

This important news wasn't on the front page of the NYT. The left is clueless.

ABSOLUTELY. "Mind like parachute: work best when open."
