I have been following Jackie Hoffman since she was in Amy & David Sedaris' Talent Family theater troupe at La Mama in the East Village. I remember thinking back then that I was watching someone very special. She had a megawatt star quality and I am so glad that she is reaping all kinds of success.
About five years ago, she came to the Gay & Lesbian Center in LA to perform her one-woman show. Afterwards, I bought her CD and she signed it. My girlfriend and I told her how much we loved her. Sometimes it's best not to meet your idols. She was completely unfriendly and wouldn't make eye contact. Oh vell...

so where are the photos of the apartment?!

Love her! The concept of waiting lists for a one bedroom is so New York.

Love Jackie Hoffman!

I'd rather have seen the apartment than the paraphernalia.

Hi Jackie, you were great in the movie: Kissing Jessica Stein.

She was marvelous in Xanadu on Broadway!

And she was great in Kissing Jessica Stein.

She appears to be a successful actress. Should she not move out and allow another up and coming actor to live in the low rent bldg. she now occupies. There should be restrictions on income. The same way rent stablization has a ceiling on income.

She does theater and cable. That's not the same pay scale at Hollywood and Network TV. Cable actors get paid a lot less than we assume (unless they are Andrew Lincoln or Matthew McConaughey).

Where does it say the rent is low?
Karen Stone (NY)
You first.

I live in the same apartment complex as Ms. Hoffman. The sirens blare with regularity day and night, can't believe there are that many emergencies.
