The new, hospital-white LED streetlights spreading across the boroughs feel like a sort of plague.
PASSOVER SURPRISE
Ten plagues beset the Egyptians: blood, frogs, lice, flies, pestilence, boils, hail, locusts, darkness, and the killing of a firstborn.
Today we have a new plague: Donald Trump.

One of the reasons we're in the mess we're in today is because anybody thinks they can run for office.
Just a bit of friendly advice.
Be of, by, and for, the People.
And have a mandate first.

Modern plague? Voice Response Systems!!!! Especially ones where after you sit through 12 different options, and then 6 different sub-options, and 5 more sub-sub-options, result in "No one is available to take your call right now. Please leave a message."

"The plagues are, traditionally: blood, frogs, lice, flies, pestilence, boils, hail, locusts, darkness, and the killing of a firstborn."
Those plagues were beyond man's control.
Cyberbullying and terrorism and, for that matter, the "networking for personal gain," can be controlled by everyone's following the Golden Rule -- first stated in Leviticus, by the way, and rephrased centuries later by Jesus: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
False equivalence.

The current plague of power networking for personally gain infecting the office of the President. Helps to know a lot of the world's heads of states in the real estate business or any other business.

Tune of Da Doo Ron Ron
Ptogress up in Albany is standing still
Should you run run run
Should you run run
Somebody told me they can't pass a bill
Should you run run run
Should you run run
Yeah, they're standing still
They can't pass that bill
So instead of mouthing off
Should you run run run
Should you run run
Lots of matching funds to match what you have raised
Could you run run run
Could you run run
It's easy to get signatures, you'd be amazed
Could you run run run
Could you run run
Yeah, funds get raised
Yeah, you'd be amazed
So if you have got thick skin
Could you run run run
Could you run run
(12x). Could you run run run, could you run run

I hope you have a good weekend, Freddie.

Over the past months, we have witnessed legislative rollbacks and executive orders spearheaded by President Trump—truly a modern day Pharaoh—aimed at preventing refugees from accessing the safety of our shores. People across America today are encountering hate speech, bigotry, and violence. These are modern plagues that we must not ignore!
Passover is a particularly charged holiday for our community, as we retell one of the greatest stories of workers collectively rising up against their oppressors and escaping terrible abuse via an exodus to a “promise land.” Our Passover haggadah represents one of the first accounts commemorating the refugee experience on a grand scale.
This saga resonates today as never before, as our country now faces a government-driven assault on immigrant rights, civil liberties, health and welfare benefits, and worker protections. This month, as our Jewish community gathers with friends and families to share our traditional story of resistance and exodus, we must consider this reality as a renewed call to action.

Great, Freddie! Worthy of Albany's Legislative Follies, if they still present them!
