So about building Mr. Trumps wall that so many people are despising about because they don’t think it won’t do anything. Well they are wrong, it will help. It will help out with immigration, fence jumping, and with the lack of jobs in America. Will it be a permanent job no but it will make a big dent in the America’s job loss because it will take tons of people to make this wall and that will influence money in to the economy. If he says what he wants to do like put border patrol all around that wall those illegal immigrants will not want to come here anymore. Also if he kicks out all the immigrants who have snuck into our country and have kids, which makes our taxes go up because we pay for them. That will help out in the decrease in taxes. I fully trust Mr. Donald J Trump with my, no our country “let’s make America great again”.
All these people are upset that Donald Trump is going out and getting all the illegal immigrants out of the country. It is not like he is doing this out of nowhere, he has said that he was going to do this since the start of his campaign, and it has been the sole basis of his campaign. It is as if people did not believe that he was going to actually do what he said. They probably didn’t believe him because that is what our country is used to, candidates making promises or proposals that they can not keep or never follow through with, but Trump is doing exactly what he said he was going to do, and it’s not that all the illegal immigrants are bad people, but they need to be american citizens if they want to live here, and for the ones that are bad who are in gangs and commit crimes do need to be deported because we do not want that in our country, but we have no problem with people coming back into the United States as long as they go through the system and become an American citizen legally.
On Wednesday Trump filed an executive order that is calling for a border wall between the US and Mexico and block Syrian refugees from entering the US as well. Trumps presidency is definitely a lot different and more heartless than Obama's. Obama tried to help illegal immigrants and refugees find citizenship here in America. Trump has openly referred to illegal immigrants as, “the criminals and the drug dealers and gangs and gang members,” which I feel like is a very wrong generalization because not all of them are bad. It’s not like immigrants are the only ones committing crimes. I definitely feel scared for illegal immigrants right now because Trump is doing everything he can to hunt them down and deport them. As the senior counsel at the American Civil Liberties Union said, “After today's announcement, the fear quotient is going to go up exceptionally.” I definitely think that what he’s doing is goes against America’s history and it’s values. After all this is a land of immigrants.
Donald Trump signed two executive orders on wednesday. The first order had to do with the border wall that he wishes to build along the border with mexico. He ordered the immediate building of the wall. His second order ordered aggressive efforts to find and deport unauthorized immigrants. He also planned additional actions to cut back on legal immigration, including banning Syrian refugees from entering the United States. President Trump also called for the hiring of an additional 5,000 Border Patrol agents and 10,000 immigration officers. I believe that this is a good idea because it prevents future immigrants who may or may not commit acts of violence in the United States. European countries who allow unlimited immigration have the highest numbers of acts of terrorism in the world. This is directly linked to not vetting who is allowed into the country. This is why i believe that America must have a much tighter net around who we allow into our country as to prevent more acts of terror from being committed.
As Mr. Trump has taken office, he has made many plans to change our immigration laws, and I believe that his plans will help our country if carried through. Within the first week, he has signed two executive orders. These involve stricter regulation on legal immigration and, as he has said before, building the wall along the border of Mexico. He also has also cracked down on illegal immigration, while blocking refugees and suspending immigration from middle eastern countries. These are wonderful ideas, because our country has let in a large amount of terrible immigrants who have caused harm to many Americans. The government has “round[ed] up some of the 11 million people who are in our country illegally,” but we should not stop. The more people we let in and stay in, the higher the chances are of harmful terrorist coming into our country and hurting more people. Lynn Tramonte, the director of America’s Voice Education Fund, said that Mr. Trump was “wasting no time taking a wrecking ball to the Statue of Liberty.” I believe that there is no way he could be hurting America by making these changes. By building the wall, it would create jobs for Americans while needing “an additional 5,000 Border Patrol agents and 10,000 immigration officers,” while stopping the illegal immigration into America. I believe that Trump’s ideas are great, and that if he carries them through, it will help our country.
I agree with Mr. Trump's decision to crack down on illegal immigration. When Nancy Pelosi states that we are a "nation of immigrants", these immigrants came through places like Ellis Island in New York, where they could be properly vetted and documented. President Obama's policies are a mockery to immigrants who have came here legally, paid their dues, and continue to pay their dues so that their families can live in this great country and exercise the same rights that all citizens have. Places like sanctuary cities are detrimental to the legal immigration process.
Mr. Trump's timing of the executive order on immigration and refugees from the Middle East however, raises more questions. The order seemed rushed, almost as a publicity stunt to keep a campaign promise. As we have seen in Europe with the Paris attacks, some of the attackers are from places like Syria. It is troubling to know that thousands of unknown refugees were allowed in to the country, without us knowing of their intentions or who they are. While we should always be open to bringing in immigrants and diversifying our already great "melting pot" society, we must take the security of our nation seriously especially at a time when our Allies overseas and just north of us have felt the wrath of the despicable group that is ISIS. And while not all of these refugees wish to do us harm, most likely the majority of them are peaceful people looking to escape the hardships from their home country.

I agree with President Trump on blocking Syrian refugees from coming into the U.S. for an indefinite period of time, and also blocking refugees from all other countries in the Middle East for 120 days. The other plan that Donald Trump is putting in place involving illegal immigrants is also a smart plan. He stated that he is reviving programs that would allow the federal government to work with local and state law enforcement agencies to hunt down and arrest illegal undocumented immigrants mainly from Mexico and Central America. I completely support these two executive orders. People who disagree with these orders are all over the news protesting at airports and in the streets of major cities. These people have to understand that President Trump is doing this to make America safe from terrorism and from illegal immigrants crossing the border of the U.S. and Mexico. Former President Obama’s immigration laws were less excessive than Trumps. He allowed these illegal immigrants to come into the U.S. and have time to a path to citizenship. This then created Sanctuary cities. Which then made major cities full of illegal immigrants and unsafe. Building a wall along the U.S.- Mexico border is a good idea. It might cost millions of dollars to build and hire more border patrol, but it will be worth it. When Trump was speaking at the Department of Homeland Security regarding our nation’s borders he said, “ A nation without borders is not a nation.”
I feel as Trump is making foolish actions with the peoples money and will only hurt us with the actions hes taking.
I personally believe that President Trump's decision to block Syrian refugees is a good idea. Terrorists are blowing up building in Europe, killing innocent people, and can be any person. I understand that most of the refugees trying to come the United States are just trying to escape Syria, but their is no way of knowing who is a terrorist and who isn't, I believe we should keep all of them out of the country until we knows who's who. But, until then i believe all of the fear-struck refugees should be kept out of the country.
The fact that Trump wants to build a wall to keep illegal immigration out is absurd.I understand that illegal immigration is a big problem in the U.S, but there are other ways to address this problem with something besides a billion dollar wall.
As we all know, history tends to repeat itself. Take the Berlin wall for example. In 1961, East Germans built the Berlin wall, the wall was meant to keep citizens out, and the West German officials were fine initially fine with the idea. In contrast to what's happening now, whereas Mexico has stated multiple times they are not fine with the wall and they will not be paying for it. For 27 miles, the Berlin wall coils through the city, amputating proud squares and dividing families and friends. And, because the Wall could not truly separate the people who had once lived in the city, it was not able to completely fulfill its function of keeping people from leaving. From The day it was built to the day it came down in 1989, the meaning of the Berlin Wall was complicated: it sent a message of control and it defined a border, but it was much about the desire of people to come together as it was about those in power wanting to keep them apart. Hopefully, if the plan for a wall is approved our desire of people to come together will be stronger than hate because instead of dividing us, he will unite us by us fighting for equality.

I personally agree with this. I think being able to put up a wall to keep the immigrants out is something America should have done a while ago. The immigrants that are here now have jobs that Americans should have. It is hard to keep other out, give American citizens jobs, and keep track of who is legal or not, but I think Trump is off to a great start with his presidency.
I personally think President Trumps choice to order a wall is a good choice. I say that because our existing border is getting old and some places there aren't even a section of border to protect the united states from incoming drug lords, smugglers, and illegal immigrants. Trump basically wants to build a better border then what we currently have. The country seems to act like a bunch of wild animals gone loose over the topic many which they don't know what they are talking about half the time. While many citizens and immigrants consider Mr. trump a racist man, he really isn't. Mr trump personally said he would deport millions of undocumented illegal immigrants from the country, build a wall, and make america great again. Building a wall would create many jobs for the country in which some jobs in that area are needed very badly. Everyone seems to be getting all upset over that promise for no reason when for some of them it really doesn't pertain to them. "And immigrants are worried, legal or not, that they may get deported" (Caroline H). People shouldn't worry of getting deported if you haven't done anything wrong. All of the criminal immigrants should be deported and sent back to there country as a punishment and consequence.

If Trump is really getting rid of immigrants then why isn't he deporting his wife? His wife is a immigrant. People really need jobs here? What about over there? They aren't as advanced as America. They have forced marriages and much more. I agree that people need jobs but is kicking out helpless people the best idea?

President Trump signed orders for a Mexican-American border wall and called for a order to get rid of illegal immigrants. He also plans more action to cut back on legal immigration. Mr. Trump, former President Barack Obama gave citizenship to some illegal immigrants. Joanne Lin, senior counsel at the American Civil Liberties Union, said that "the fear quotient is going to go up exponentially," because it is. People are afriad. Some people may know illegal immigrants and are afriad for them. Some people may know legal immagrants and are worried for them. And immigrants are worried, legal or not, that they may get deported. Lynn Tramonte, the deputy director of America’s Voice Education Fund, meant that President Trump is hurting America when she said that Mr. Trump is “wasting no time taking a wrecking ball to the Statue of Liberty." She thinks that President Trump's orders are “a dramatic, radical and extreme assault on immigrants and the values of our country.” On the other hand, conservative orginizations and some Republican lawmakers agree with Mr. Trump, saying that the order would increse enforcement of security. The wall President Trump is planning to build will cost tens of billions of dollars, much more with the 5,000 Border Patrol Agents and 10,000 immigration officers.
I am glad to see President Trump making an effort to remove illegal aliens from the US.
Their presence is very costly to town and cities. It is not like the time before and immediately after WWII. Then if Refugees came, we would not let anyone in with TB and other communicable disease - now we do. We should ban those carrying communicable diseases we used to. Now local hospitals are stuck treating a variety of Tropical diseases like Chagas, Ebola etc. That costs money.
Our schools now have to hire interpreters, provide special classes for non-English speakers - that costs money. It used to be that immigrants were expected to learn the language on their own -- guess what they did learn it without all the expensive training we now have to provide.
In short refugees and illegal immigrants are a burden - especially to small towns. Local taxes have risen to support the burden these immigrants impose on a place they live.
President Trump is right to put a pause on new arrivals --No town should see their taxes go up because of immigrants and refugees and the burden the government imposes on them like interpreters, more police, overcrowded hospitals etc. Above I want to see deportation of ALL illegal immigrants and a ban on refugees.

We have laws about immigration for a reason and they should be upheld and that is not "taking a wrecking ball to the statue of liberty". Sorry, it's just not.
"Unauthorized immigrants" are actually "illegal immigrants" and the play on words by calling them unauthorized is meant to gloss over the criminal element of their presence here. They should be found and removed and 'forcibly' if necessary - the author sure does try to make things sound bad and the bias is evident.
Anyone that doesn't believe in enforcing the law is un-American. If you don't like the law then work to change it but don't suggest that we turn a blind eye to the law. If we pick and choose which laws to enforce or ignore we will have problems.
