Can't help but mention that in this puzzle, Joe Biden is conjured in the 3-pointer; in Split Decisions, it's Trump and Putin (Twitter and ruble); and in the main crossword, a shout-out to Obamacare.

We all know that the answer key is never all-inclusive. I'm not bothered.

Still, I was surprised to see "lamely" omitted, as well as the word of the 2010s, "leaker".

Eery has no "l and is not a word!

Leery is a word.

I see David has thoughtfully posted the Ratings below, so I'll just toss in that I added YELLER (not "Old", but one who shouts).

Hi all,

Sorry, my bad. The correct puzzles and Spelling Bee answers are listed now.

Winding Down is among my favorite “middle” puzzles.

[SPOILER ALERT]

I started from the bottom, which looked easier. Then I immediately began wondering if FLAG was too obvious to be correct, and that maybe it should be BANNER.
ALFREDO banished those fears quickly.
FLAG and LITERACY must have been everybody’s gimmes.

Are the letters correct in spelling bee?
David Connell (Weston CT)
Doesn't match what's in my web link!
I see L + A E K M R Y
Points: 7, 13, 19

Also the Patrick puzzle is a "Winding Down"

I assume you mean that the answers for the "wrong" Patrick puzzle were there. The answers for the Patrick puzzles appear at 10 P.M. Eastern on the following Thursday.

This is the second time in recent memory that the letters posted in the Wordplay blog for the Spelling Bee do not match the letters printed in the magazine. This is somewhat annoying.
