I have people meet me in front of the waiting room at the bottom of the escalators (near the ticket windows). Everyone seems able to find that.
Just meet on the train, pick a car - 3rd from front, 2nd from back, whatever. Much easier.

this made me smile..

I've been there a million times, but on August 24th, having just left the Lake Shore Limited, I took an elevator and promptly got lost looking for the 2/3 train. And absolutely no one could tell me where the Hilton Passageway—plainly marked, there for generations—was. So yeah, it's a rabbit warren.
Although there is still a sign for it, the Hilton Passageway has been closed since the early 80's (or maybe late 70's - no one seems sure). No wonder no one could tell you where it was! It led from Penn Station to the Herald Square subway station.
With apologies to Mr. Zuckert’s delightful story: :)
Tune of Chattanooga Choo-Choo
Pardon me, friend, Penn is a complicated Station
Got here, I swear
With twenty minutes to spare
I must attend a happy fam’ly celebration
Meeting my Sis
And what she sang me was this:
Let’s meet at Pennsylvania Station ‘round a quarter to four
When you see the liquor store I’ll be by the door
If there is no line there
Maybe get some wine there
They may check ID, it says so on the sign there
If you see the deli with the great salad bar
Then you’ll know you’ve wandered just a little too far
Through the hurlyburly
Though you got there early
That’s Penn Station, Brother, there you are!

Brilliant!
The original song CHATTANOOGA CHOOCHOO was one of my Mother's favorite pieces of Music during WWII.
SHE LOVED TO DANCE AND SING!

Few transit hubs in the world are as disjointed as Penn Station. But just like the City itself it gets the job done.
