The Karen character is priceless -- she turns out to be a well-coiffed lawyer who uses a line of argument that is as surprisingly common as it is nonsensical: "How is counsel defining 'deadline' ? Or 'passed'?"

Navy Bean. Should have been (brean) "Yankee Bean" referencing Elaine ((Julia Louis-Dreyfus) )on Seinfeld: https://youtu.be/WJEoVdv7GYA

When Martin Mull's (The Eagle) phone rang with the House of Cards ringtone? I hope they keep Mull as well as John Slattery who was funny in Mad Men as well!!

The best written, best delivered lines. Anywhere. The insults are gasp inducing vulgar hilarity.
Re: the Office Space connections: Was that Milton hisownself we glimpsed down there in a basement warren?

Two words - MARTIN MULL!
Only one problem with this episode: not enough Hugh Laurie. The best visual gag of the episode was the transformation of the campaign jet with Selina Myers /Tom James's giain pictures and slogan on it: the cabin door opened, obscuring Selina's picture, and the slogan suddenly turned into: "Tom James for President". Subtle and easily missed, like so many of the jokes here.

Have enjoyed VEEP since the beginning, this season is so far the weakest.
I find the laughs just not coming. Part of this for me is the series is now taking itself more seriously, and the bumbling VEEP was funnier than the not as bumbling President. Also there are just too many characters. The situations are not as funny either, its all very true to life, and the characters mostly seem uncomfortable. I mean Gary is just not himself these days. And Dan sleeping with Amy's sister because she thought she said CBS not CVS, just not funny and forced. Second season most laughs for sure, so far Fifth barely get a chuckle.

Best season so far imnsho (ns=not so)
Another breadcrumb, this one missed in the review: at the beginning of the episode, Mike brags that Selena cut the Post Office budget from $65b to $62b. Later, we learn that the 10,000 missing ballots were "lost" by a postal worker. I wonder just how many jokes I've missed over the years...

just not clicking this season...
its off
its not as good

The writing on this show is so dense and delivered so rapidly that I usually need to watch each episode at least a couple of times to digest it all. And I mean that as a high compliment. And then there is the acting---superb is not too strong of a word. May this show never end!

Even though Armando Iannucci is no longer running the show, the show hasn't missed a beat. In fact I think this season is the best so far possibly because our own political season is so absurd, more so than ever. Reality reflecting art? Crazy. . .

I really look forward to my transpacific flights on Air New Zealand to get the opportunity to watch Veep nonstop.
