He is driving a "Sport Ice" machine, saying it is a Zamboni is Wrong! that is like me saying I like your "Nikes" when you are wearing Adidas! Sport Ice is a completely different company and their own machine. They should be given the right to acknowledgement.
Back in the mid-80's I managed the Rock Ctr rink for a time. We were all actors and such. One night playing hockey after hours someone put a puck through a restaurant window and that was the end of overtime. Fond memories.

One of my best grandma days? Watching my grandson skating at Rockefeller Center. We were on vacation from Wisconsin. He's blind in one eye, but got out there on that ice like a star, to me.
Thanks Mr. Zamboni Man. For all these years you've made that ice nice for so many like us grandmas watching our beloved little ones, for lovers who skate hand in hand, for those who walk by Rockefeller and on impulse say today is my day, I'm trying it, for those fancy young girls who show off their spin skills, and just ..... for everyone. We salute you. May you have many more years to come. By the way, us grandmas like just watching you go round and round too.
It's part of the whole Rockefeller Skating Rink gig! A universal place to smile and relax...

Along the same line of thought in your column about the ice cream trucks in winter, where does the zamboni guy go in the summer?

I prefer Penguins 'Happy Dance' on the Devils.

I'll chill with "Penguins chill Devils"...
Zambonis--
It was once famously said that there are two things you cannot take your eyes off--a roaring fire in the fireplace--and a Zamboni going around and around a skating rink.

Wasn't that from "Peanuts"?
Peanuts' creator Charles Schulz was a die-hard hockey player/fan and had his own regulation hockey rink in Santa Rosa, CA.
“A Brooklyn house tour, which ran for three decades, is ending to protect owners’ privacy in the age of the Internet.”
Given human nature, isn’t this one of those cases where you wonder what the Brooklyn Heights people were expecting to happen to their privacy when they let strangers into their homes to begin with?
Tune of Patty Duke Show theme [my favorite Brooklyn Heights song]
Here’s Brooklynite who’s no V.I.P.
She lets her house be shown so free
But if we Google any sites
We’ll find her place in Brooklyn Heights
There’s no privacy
And we’re buzzin’ - the internet’s buzzin’ with delight
See all those “secret” photos, and there you see her plight
When Brooklynite bought a bedroom set
The news got out quick on the net
That’s when the tours can take a toll
She fears she’s losing all control
I would take that bet
And we’re buzzin’ - the internet’s buzzin’ on those sites
We write a bit, we scroll a bit
At time we even "troll" a bit
Has she lost some rights?
We’re buzzin’ – about Brooklyn Heights

This is the best story I have ever read in the New York Times. It should be mandatory reading across America.
