Trump's victory in South Carolina makes it clear that Hillary is the Democrats' only credible hope to retain the White House. In a general election Trump would first ridicule, then diminish, then annihilate the one-note, one-issue, unelectable socialist from Vermont. (Though Saturday Night Live would have a wealth of material from the debates alone.) Look at poor Jeb! Bush. Hillary can take care of herself.

Amen to that - Go Hillary Go!
I hope you're right. Polls currently show Sanders beating out Trump by a much greater margin than Clinton in a general election.

Congratulations Madam President, and thanks for signing your book for me when I couldn't make it to one of your events here in Fl. I was ill but that perked me right up. Your tougher than all the male candidates put together. And way more experienced. Hang tough.

Thank God! I hope that Clinton continues to progress with votes in South Carolina and Super Tuesday. This millennial supports Clinton as the Democratic candidate for president.

Hillary has been campaigning for president for about two years now. The fact that Bernie came so close is a de facto loss for her.
Her supporters should rethink what they are doing here. Bernie has a track record of putting his money where his mouth is. You can't take Big finance money without owing something in return.

@Matt—Sorry But a win is a win. Bernie is an insurgent candidate and either you stop such a candidate or they win. Hillary stopped the bleeding today and a nearly 6 point win is a decisive win. Just because this is Hillary Clinton, we can't change the rules to say that in order to win you must win by a landslide each contest.

For me this was a welcome victory, but the race is far from finished, indeed seems to be unending.
How it ends is anyone's guess, but I will say this based on where we are today in the campaign: I would say the Sanders candidacy has really helped Hillary sharpen her message and agenda priorities.
I can't say the same of Sanders whose concession speech was typically defiant if a repetitive standard stump speech.
My takeaway? Sanders has stopped growing as a candidate while Hillary seems to be finally coming into her own.

Hillary has completely co-opted Sanders's talking points into her speeches. She will shift her position in a general election and accomplish nothing if elected POTUS.
Hillary is absolutely corrupt, and I will vote for a third party candidate if she is the democratic nominee.
Demographic: 50 yr female, married, two kids heading to college, middle class in high tax, high COL state of NJ.

Hillary has shown that she speaks for every group of working people. Thanks Madame President.

Does she show that by accepting big bank money? Or by accepting hundreds of thousands for secret Wall Street speaking engagements?
Congrats Madame President!

Race is just beginning. I like Bernie's chances.

@Mark–you are correct that the race is not over but the reality is that Bernie will lose SC next Saturday and then he will likely win only three out twelve states in Super Tuesday after SC.

This wasn't a major victory for Hillary. It was a speed bump for Bernie.
