Judge this man by his actions, not his words.

I suspect that Cruz is smart enough to know that even his electoral math doesn't really work and that he is actually running to succeed Jim DeMint at Heritage Foundation. It sure pays better than POTUS.
He would, by his lights, add some intellectual heft to what has become a hack partisan shop.
In the meantime, he is out to scare everyone as much as he can.

Maybe he can get Rush Limbaugh's job.
3
For my part, I hope that donors give Cruz lots of money and that he gains the Republican nomination. That will set his party's ugly extremism in the very clearly light it most surely deserves.
14
Please stop feeding ad space to this political troll. If you ignore him, he may go away.
12
Ted "McCarthy" Cruz.
16
If the Supreme Court confirms that Sen. Cruz was right about Obamacare (and that will be the perception) his support in the presidential primary will increase substantially. Cruz the leader, ahead of the others, doing the right thing ...
2
Since when is leaving people to sicken and die or go bankrupt from medical bills the right thing?
10
In the last two weeks I have received emails addressed to my father from Mr Cruz's Office. Each won has a time limit begging 'we need xxxx by" etc and Lauren my Financial Director has told me we need three more donors in your area.
My area is the South East of England. My father, to whom the email is personally addressed, passed away in 2013. Born in London (England) he only left these shores to serve in the RAF in WWII. I don't think he ever met an American.
So Mr Cruz must be desperate if he trying to extort money from people who cannot vote for him either because they are non-american or worst still dead.

Well, he probably wants to beat the "rapture." And, he will take money from any quarter, even England...or Israel. I'm hoping he'll have an individual rapture of his very own.

Just as soon have this circus skip coming to town...
10
I wouldn't buy bubblegum from this guy. He played a key role in the shut down of your government a while back, which turned out to be very costly. He obviously doesn't value other people's money. Supporters beware...watch your pockets.
14
He managed to ruin the business of this woman in California. I'm sure she's not the only one:

I'm not sure Cruz could get a real job outside politics. I doubt his brand of manipulation would play well in managerial staff meeting.
Wait...department of development. Sure.

I find your statement amusing, since Ted Cruz has much more private and public career experience in the way of both years in law practice and stellar State service as the Texas Solicitor General than Barack Obama ever had.
That may or may not be, but the President is not a whack job.
8
Ah, so Cruz is the guy who pursued Roe v Wade, and repeal of the Affordable Care Act? Did he only act in the interest of right wing nuts, or the state, in general? Yeah, Barach Obama was only a practicing Civil Rights Attorney, Professor of Constitutional Law, widely read author, and US Senator. No work experience at all. :-D
4
I see a number of readers/commenters expect Ted Cruz to be a spoiler. Win the primary and thus spike the general.
I thought the same while living in Katy Texas in 2012.
Just consider, if he wins the primary he alepways has a shot at winning the general.
Best he were struck by lightning now.
Best for everyone.

Agreed. I was amazed and dismayed by his beating of Dewhurst in the runoff.

Cruz has to beat Huckaby in the race for wing-nut cash
12
Ted is one in the fray who got so many fringers diverting some of their ammo money to his campaign, but their funds will run dry during the course of the year.
It is exciting to know that the polarized public is eager to jump on these fleas like mad dogs. Th country has gone canine.

Aren't you looking forward to the debates? Cruz, Walker, Rubio, Bush, Huckabee to name a few. Especially Walker vs. Cruz.
17
How can I raise me some cash? He can raise $4M in a few days and I can't raise $10 in 10 days.
3
Well you could try telling a lot of lies and demonizing gay people, people of color and poor people, that seems to work well for Cruz and his buddies.
19
As a former Altar boy, please allow me to lead the prayers...
In the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Amen.
Dear God,
Please let Ted Cruz raise enough money to win the Republican nomination.
This will guarantee a Democratic win and continue the teachings of Jesus for compassion, love thy neighbor, do unto others and all the good stuff.
Thank you God.
In the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Amen.
The Mass has ended, go in peace.

I haven't attended mass in decades but something like this might just get me there.
14
Except it could, and should, shoot their tax situation all to Hell.
1
According to Tuesday's Houston Chronicle, in a report about a local campaign appearance, Cruz has raised a little over $2 million. Hardly enough to keep a full-time campaign staff going.
6
Here you are: the real reason why Rafael Cruz is "running" for president.
Cha-ching! You can just hear those donations rollin' right on in...
I have one question: was a collection plate passed around at Liberty U?

19
Almost all the 20-odd (pun intended) Republican presidential primary candidates are in it for the campaign donations (they are not refunded when their campaigns end) and fat contracts later among the Fox news commentariat. Cf. Newt Gingrich.
15
Doesn't the government offer Ted Health Insurance?
At any rate, he's his own man now (maybe)
