So much amazing and wonderful tips shared in the article. I have seen some of his videos in the youtube about shukavana and felt very heart touching. I am planning my visit to his bird aviary.
Words can't adequately describe the atmosphere of Shuka Vana, you have to see and experience it for yourself. It heals parrots and humans alike, in an atmosphere that radiates serenity and peace. Parrots are highly intelligent creatures and their references are found at the very core of many Hindu scriptures.

I have seen the birds talk and repeat with Sri Swamiji in online videos. They are very willing and able partners in the learning effort because they have bonded so well with swamiji. They are so enthusiastic in repeating what he says and many times don't stop even after he stopped. They are so eager to converse in our language.
Nice and informative article! When I google Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji and birds, I see lots of information regarding Sri Swamiji's birds aviary (Shuka Vana) at SgsBirds.com website. Very happy to see the healthy and well cared for parrots at Sri Swamiji's aviary! Special thanks to New York Times for bringing this nice article to the readers!
Buy a bird? BUY A BIRD??? Please acquaint yourself with the suffering of birds kept captive by breeders. Then, atone for writing this article by writing one about the plight of parrots as property, perhaps featuring a parrot sanctuary and telling readers how to express appreciation for parrots without treating them as property.

Be aware that a parrot may choose to learn vocabulary on it's own. So you need to be mindful of expressions that people in the household use frequently. Our neighbors Blue and Gold Macaw is fond of squawking "Hey Einstein!" at inopportune moments. Perhaps queued by observing his owners do eye-rolls when somebody did something really dumb.

Birds talking exist in Ancient Indian history and Guruji is making it practical, A great attempt in exploring into underlying powers of birds. Need of true love is just not only for humans but any living creature, then no doubt of seeing these wonders.
Jai Guru Datta... Who else can explain better than "The Sukha Brahma" himself.

I've been to the bird aviary established by His Holiness Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji in India. It's the largest aviary in India with a spectacular collection of birds. HH has rescued many injured and abandoned birds, some of whom have become great talkers :) HH has great insights on birds, many of which can be found in his book "My Parrots". A few videos of talking birds from his aviary can be found on YouTube on the channel called "sgsbirds".
Very nice and helpful article about how to teach a bird to talk. Have been to the Shuka vana, a wonderful aviary mentioned in the article and i can co-relate the tips mentioned in this article to the confidence shown by the hundreds of species at that place. Sri Swamiji's positive vibrations and peaceful atmosphere of the place contributes a lot in bringing up the confidence in those birds. Really amazed by the birds speaking so many sanskrit words and could find some of the videos on www.vimeo.com/sgsbirds and youtube, very great effort by the volunteers of this aviary. Thank you Shukavana and thank you Swamiji for your great tips
Swamiji talks to the birds as if they are babies and sometimes as friends and sometimes chides them as if the are little brats.
His love and deep affection for the birds is amazing. He spends hours together with no irritation or tiredness. He works incessantly for their well being. Some of the birds in the aviary have learnt to chant Vedic mantras Also. Birds have begun to become our chatting friends at the aviary Shuka Vana under SWAMIJI's care and love.

Sri Swamiji has a holistic bird sanctuary called Shuka Vana in Mysore, India. The more than 1000 birds in Shuka Vana are from more than 300 species. These are all birds rescued from various situations and countries, that Sri Swamiji is providing shelter for, and giving them all the care they need. I had the wonderful opportunity to visit Shuka Vana (www.sgsbirds.com) and I was really amazed at the love and care given to all these birds by the staff under the guidance of Sri Swamiji. Thorough loving and respecting all beings of the planet, Sri Swamiji is inspiring all to care for each other for a peaceful coexistence of all beings in the universe. Thank you, Sri Swamiji.

They are all real free birds there. I saw Swamiji spending quality time with them patiently, with lots of love & affection. Those birds reciprocate the same love & affection. The wildest birds also behave very gentle there. Definitely those vibrations from Swamiji are inexplicable in words. All the spiritual & social service done by Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji are amazing. For anyone going to India, his ashram is a must visit place (www.Dattapeetham.com).
