Slyvanas is not Garrosh 2.0

Look, she's different, she was chosen to be Warchief even though she didn't ask for it, scaled up the war with Alliance, attacked an island nation, drove a wedge in the Horde, committed war crimes, got empowered by an ancient god, got driven out of the Horde by a coalition force at Org and has now opened a portal to a new dimension with a secret agenda and allies. She's got her own unique path.

Hey, let's give credit when it's due.
She did not commit no time travel bullshit.
YET
Of course she didn't participate in Time Travel.
If she participated in Time Travel, we'd be going back to meet Thrall's parents like Garrosh had us do.
She....she is stat squishing us back to Vanilla...
lol breaking into the "realm of death" is arguably worse than time travel. its like life and death have literally no implication anymore
Vol'jin said it was not the loa that told him to make Sylvanas Warchief. It was likely the Jailer in the Maw that did it to put their plan in motion.
She's Azshara but with the Titan of Death instead of N'zoth.
Yeah, there are a lot of parallels to other characters' story arcs that can be drawn. That's just the nature of fiction, especially when you're dealing with fantasy stories of good & evil.
It all boils down to Joseph Campbell monomyth stuff. It's sort of a twisted version of the
LoL. I know the story was better when they just copied other stories, but Blizz should avoid copying their own bad ones.
I just want to point out with the recent cutscene....
Garrosh: Once his chance was there, he yeeted out real quick, and with the help of a second individual regardless of consent, opened an inter-dimensional portal to get help on the other side in a land under turmoil and strife that we have to also help while hunting down the fugitive who is empowered by a world threatening influence. Also attempted to kill Anduin in a face to face confrontation. Also became a dictator of the Horde.

It's still Garrosh 2.0. They're still following the framework of Garrosh's story. The END is different completely, but the evolution of her character, her actions, the triggers in her story that led everything here, is almost perfectly parallel to Garrosh's. It's hard to explain.
Imagine she wrote up a checklist of everything Garrosh did that led him as far as it did. She's checking every box on the way to HER goal. HER goal is a different destination, but she's stopping at every.single.fucking.pitstop Garrosh did.
Yes you can point out every other nuance and difference, but you literally can't deny the checkpoints of their character development are basically the same. The house looks different, but the inside is all the same furnishings.
But but I would like it if she was not Garrosh 2.0, so that means it is so! Now onwards to reddit !!
I'm just waiting for the stupid way she gets "redeemed" she is too popular of a character to get killed.
I mean, so was Varian.
Flip it and reverse it. What if we get a cutscene where Sylvanas is like:
Does this turn bad writing into good writing and throw the whole “Garrosh 2.0” thing in everyone’s face?
Fuck Sylvanas. Such a shitty character to pin the franchise on.
And to think how badass she was in WC3, it's a damn fucking shame.
Amen
Still think she's up to something that will benefit everyone in the end.
She’s committed genocide and worked to free an old god. She can’t play hero for a threat she unleashed on the world because “I was working for the greater good”
Fuck. That.
I was there with you until she broke the Helm. It's...it's REALLY hard to justify what she did considering the planet's already fucking dying lol
I think she's trying to defy death - to avoid being devoured by the Maw herself, as that's what terrified her so much during her suicide.
Maybe she's rationalizing her atrocities by thinking this would benefit everyone, but I think the real drive is personal.

I'm not misgonystic when I want this monster, who destroyed Gilneas and genocided the Night elves, to be brought to justice. I want her to fail because she has done so many horrible things, and I don't care if she's doing it for the greater good.

People still hating Nathanos at this point is just pure misandry, plain and simple. We don't have to continue to argue if Nathanos is a brainless follower of Sylvanas, he's always been "Sylvanas' wish is my command".
Edit - Since he removed his comment, I don't really mean it. He said something along the lines of my comment, except he said that everyone who dislikes Sylvanas at this point has to hate women. The comment below was just him calling me an idiot.
I've always felt like the hate boner against her was a bit /too/ strong. Its way worse than people's hatred of Garrosh, and he was always a pretty unlikable character, narratively. Where as at least Sylvanas had a compelling backstory that made a lot of players enjoy her.
Edit: Accidentally posted early, but you replied fast enough before I could delete and repost my comment.
Edit 2: It's been 7 minutes and someone already downvoted this. That's how strong the hate boner is.
This joke is so fresh.
blizz keeps refreshing it every patch
I mean, they just keep doing it. It's not even a joke at this point, just an observation.
Fresher than the same 3 story archetypes Blizzard's been using in every single game for the last 15 years.
Definitely a reductive, superficial comparison, about as valuable as saying Donald Trump is George Washington 2.0, but sure, take some karma and keep wanking.
no one with a worthy head on their shoulders would ever compare those two...
What would be the unreductive comparison?
The world is a prison, and she's gonna free us though.
