Comments
Paz - goes to Ghosts's club to ask him who killed Angela, he doesn't wanna tell...so she decides to THEN be mad enough about it to kill him, even though she's spent the whole season thinkin Ghost himself did it...lmao
Tate - Ghost called him a loser so I guess it's time to put on a hood and go Odog? We forreals wit this shit??
Dre - Never in my life have I seen more plot armor for any character in literally anything than Dre. Nigga gets arrested for murder, booked and charged...Blanca walks in there talkin bout "I can get u outta here if u say Ghost TOLD YOU he killed Terry Silver"...and then boom...he's out. Ah that makes sense, some random cop on a federal task force can get all charges dropped on a murder suspect because she wants to use him as a witness in a case that's nowhere near trial. Murder suspects can get off their charges by just tellin the feds they seen another crime. Lmaaao niggas will say anything when they tryna get out!
Tommy - the fuck was he even doin??
Saxe - I LOLed loud af when this fool was like "so I go to jail...and St Patrick walks free"?
Ghost - if they really killed off the only character I actually like or care about, there goes all my investment wit the show. When that next episode comes around ..if it's confirmed Ghost is dead then I'm out. Cuz I could give a fuck about the rest of these dumbass characters. This show's writers are so braindead...for some reason they think Ghost is the villain of the show when he's clearly been the protagonist. On top of that this episode tries to paint him as overly selfish, when he's no more selfish than the other characters. It makes no sense. Cuz Tariq is so "caring" about his parents and everybody else right? Tommy has everybody's best interests in mind of course...Tate doesn't put himself first. Saxe, Tasha, etc...all of them are just as if not MORE selfish than Ghost. There aren't any "good" characters on this show...but relative to the rest Ghost is the most sensible, with the most set principles, the one with the most conscience, and the one who actually wanted to make a better life for himself and his family. If he's gone...I am too
Dre could die and God himself will tell him 'Look, if you tell me what you know about James St. Patrick I'll let you come back to life."
When Saxe grabbed the gun outta closet, thought he was going postal right there on his couch.....
I don’t get Paz, though. She KNOWS that Ghost didn’t do it. She admitted it. But she wants to kill him because James won’t tell? She rather go to jail for life not knowing who her sister’s killer is?
That’s dumb.
It would be pretty poetic if Tariq did it.
Kanan says “he wasn’t my son no more” when he’s pressed about killing Shawn, because in his eyes Shawn had betrayed him. Similarly, Ghost has betrayed Tariq by reneging on his promise to take the rap for Ray Ray. The dialogue between Tariq and Ghost about Ghost’s first kill implies that Ghost is giving him a chance to change his mind.
When Ghost is “talking” to Kanan, they’re arguing who Ghost really is. Ghost says he tried to save Shawn and Kanan killed him, making him different. So, it’d be a big twist of Tariq is the one to do it.
Now, if Ghost survives, he can say that Tariq tried to kill him because he was pressuring Tariq to confess.
Edit:
lmfao. i got my money on ramona's ex or tasha boo-thang. either way, ghost dead- so is the show
Well I was going to write something but you summed it up perfectly. I was really disappointed in this episode. I totally agree with you. It didn't make sense to have all those people going after Ghost all at one time and Ghost not carrying a gun didn't make sense. He has been extremely smart & he would have been expecting something. I am hoping that he won't die. I hope that he survives and takes all of them out and then start over in a new country or something. I hope this is not the ending for Ghost. I expected better.
Ghost gotta stay alive & he made a shit ton of sense with Tariq doin a little time. Everybody tried their hardest to keep him out but he just haaad to be in the game. Now he gotta pay for that shit, not even to the fullest extent cause his family gonna look after him. If somebody fucking with him u know Ghost gonna make a call n have em killed. He gonna have the easiest time in jail lol but nooo Tasha n Tariq wanna be hardheaded. Tommy gotta wake tf up n stop being so kill-hungry for Ghost. Most of what he did to Tommy was because Tommy did something first. The quicker he realizes that the better. In my mind, the end game needs to be Ghost & Tommy VS Tasha & Tariq. Everybody else like Dre, Blanca, Sax. They light work... Well idk about Dre this nigga cheat death so much 🤣
Bro this is the episode I realized this show is officially trash now. WTF. Cartoon level. This a BET soap opera now. And facts he was acting totally different, he just becomes a cartoonishly selfish asshole when he’s about to be on on?
Realest post I ever read. “Ghost - if they really killed off the only character I actually like or care about, there goes all my investment wit the show” for real!!!
lol! 100% agree about Dre having plot armor
I couldn’t agree with this any more. I thought exactly the same
AGREED
1 - I don't think it's curtains for Ghost quite yet. I think he'll be on life support, he'll be the only person who saw the shooter and we'll get drip fed misleading information on each suspect for 3/4 episodes. The finale-finale will then reveal all when Ghost wakes up/remembers during recovery.
2 - My money is on Tariq. During the conversation they have in Ghost's hotel room, he tells Tariq how when he was his age, Breeze forced his hand after he gave him one more chance. What does Tariq do? Asks Ghost one more time if he wants him to come clean to the feds, to which he responds yes. It all comes full circle with him forcing Tariq's hand.
If the "Who Shot Ghost" was a reference to the show Dallas, that's fuckin brilliant. Because for those here who aren't old enough to remember, the question over who shot JR was a water-cooler event in the 80s the same way this show is today. Everybody's gonna be talking about this shit for months proposing theories on who's the culprit. Also, Power is also a bit of a night soap like that show was too.
I was actually shocked this entire episode by how disrespectful and reckless ghost was talking lmfao
they jumped the shark Ghost was way out of character this episode but they needed it just so they could have everyone turn against him at the end for suspense I am disappoint
It was hilarious. No one can stop me!
This was way out of character. They made sure he went extra hard at Tate to give him extra motive
It’s horrible writing. He’s never acted like that before.
They just did it so that he could piss everyone off even more for the ending
He was burning all bridges.he was also right when he told Tommy and Dre they weren't shit without him. I guess this new Ghost we saw was actually the real Ghost all along that was waiting to come out.
I understand everyone saying that he wasn’t acting like himself but that’s the point. He felt like he was on top with how everything was going and talked down upon a lot of people.
Bruh, they couldn’t make it anymore obvious that he was gonna get clipped this episode. I was a bit skeptical from the episode teaser they released, but when he kept saying “no one can stop me” over and over and over again, I knew he was fucked.
The writers were inspired by GOT season 8 and decided to give him a character 180 that would rival Dany's.
They had to justify the bullet.
he was talking suuper greezy to everybody. Then finalized the divorce with Tasha. That kinda was the only thing binding them 2 together aside from Tariq & the daughter we rarely see & sometimes forget exists lol
No one can stop me ... meanwhile he’s walking around unarmed while talking out his neck to everyone and they momma
I was lolling throughout the entire episode. Such an oddly shot and written episode.
-all the ghosts of people that came back super weird
-still no one acknowledged Tommy’s right hand man who got shot two episodes ago by Dre
-how the fk did Ghost pass a background check?
-Ghost was acting the most out of character he’s ever acted in the entire series. Talking all that shit to literally everyone who would listen
-Also Tate has HATED ghost for so long. Why would he come to Truth to warn Ghost about the feds? Doesn’t make sense. Writers just did that so that they had a reason for Ghost to shit on him once more.
-weird how he was all of a sudden pussy whipped by romana
-I love how they just don’t tell you how Tarik is in trouble with the feds again
-also it’s a joke that Ghost is still expected to take the fall for his kid after all the bullshit they’ve been through
-why the fk would Angie’s sister try to murder ghost after all that?
-also tommy just randomly decides you know what maybe Ghost didn’t kill lakesha. He mentions it all casual to Ghost.
-how does Ghost not think tommy was going to try and kill him one way or another. How hasn’t ghost hired bodyguards yet lmao
Just LoL for this entire episode. Man this show is a parody of its early self. It’s a shame.
Everyone’s all upset Ghost got killed but for me that’s not the issue the biggest issue is that it seems like they saved all their horrible writing for the mid season finale.
Just to point something out, the reason Tasha killed Lakeisha was so she couldn’t testify against Ghost and blow Tariq’s alibi. Why would she then be worried about Tariq? With Lakiesha dead, that alibi is cemented.
Why would Tariq want his dad to take the fall for him after literally just saying to Ghost, you’re not my father?
I was giggling through the whole scene of all the "suspects" grabbing guns and heading to Ghost. Even Paz. Really? They clearly meant for it to be an intense and suspenseful scene, but it was so ridiculous, it was comical. I just pictured them all getting to Truth at the same time with guns drawn, milling around, surprised to see each other.
Thank you couldnt have said it better myself. Also the shoot out scene with ghost and tommy. Tommy just dissapeared? Dead guy on the ground ect.
the whole episode was a dream...gotta be
Ghost was acting like that because he just figures he needs to move forward. Ghost tried to involve everyone in his going straight but they fucked with him and ficked with him until he didn't care to finesse them. He said i am getting me and you all can fuck off.
I was curious about Tate too .. why did he get all weird when ghost mentioned Tariq? That seemed odd.
The last time he hired security didnt go too well...
If Ghost is dead I’m out
Pretty sure we all are. I’m praying the writers aren’t that brain dead.
He’s dead, in an interview before the season premiere, he said to a crowd of disappointed audience members, hearing that Power is ending; “Damn, relax guys, y’all really don’t want me to work anywhere else.” #Hint
The minute he said that line, I knew that Omari was looking to move on. He’ll more than likely get a higher paying gig now due to his profile on Power.
That and also Tariq dressing identical to Ghost foreshadows him leading now #Boo..
I love Omari, I heard his heartwarming story coming up and how he was a homeless, looking for acting work and felt for him. I wish him all the best and I look forward to seeing him in future roles but I’m officially done with Power.
Good riddance ✌🏻
Game of thrones writers must have wrote this shit
Even GOT writers would be a significant upgrade
I wish they just finished the rest of the season this year instead of dragging it till 2020z
Gotta squeeze out that extra couple months of subscriptions from folks and use the 'taking a break during the holidays' excuse.
Before Kanan died, Tariq asked him why he killed Shawn, and Kanan responded with "You ain't a real killer to you kill someone you love" and then Kanan died, who was someone Tariq loved.
Before Ghost is (shot or dead), Tariq ask's Ghost why did he kill Breeze and Ghost's response is "He got in the way of my future" and Ghost just happens to be in Tariq's future, thus Tariq shot Ghost.
In both Kanan and Ghost's last interactions with Tariq, Tariq ask's them a question requesting a reason as to why they killed a certain person. Almost as if Tariq is looking for the person to confirm to him a reason that person should be killed.
It makes sense. He might have done it.
I thought this nigga 50 brought kanan from the dead. That woulda been it for me
I really thought the same thing at first
I was bouta holler laughin if he was alive
Deadass that woulda been the funniest shit in the whole series
That was last season Dexter level bad.
At least dexter was entertaining lmao
Dexter ending was by far the worse. This probably up there with it.
Fuck this show. They killed off the only likable character in a lame ass soap opera whodunit. I'm not watching 5 more episodes of this shit without Ghost. I have ZERO interest in Tariq. Zip. Zilch. None. Screw the spin-off. Nobody wants to watch an entire series about Tariq and Dre. As far as I'm concerned, Power is over. Lights out.
THANK YOU! it is a fucking soap opera. Music to my ears. I have absolutely 0 interest in Tariq. This show had such good potential. Fuckin astronomically insane how they ruined this show
Not saying it will be good, but the spinoff is a prequel.. So doubt baby Tariq or early teen Dre will be in it.. Will probably be more about Ghosts parents or his own start in crime.. I'm betting Mary J will be ghosts mom..
Honestly.. I knew within three mins into the episode that this was going to be the outcome. It was poorly directed and Ghost's dialog was ridiculous. [Showrunners: "What can we have him say to make everyone really hate him this time. Nothing seems to work? Wait, I got it...have him say vile, uncharacteristic things out of the blue as he finally gets out of the game--and punctuate each evil monologue with No one will stop me!"]
I was waiting for Ghost to do an evil laugh and stroke his beard or a fluffy white cat after a while.
It was patently clear the last two seasons that they wanted the audience to feel Ghost was evil and deserving of a brutal end. Listen to their after show commentary where they reveal character motivations.
The choices of all of the players arcs were so poorly done that this ending has rendered the entire six seasons as utterly disappointing and pointless----but quite laughable. None of the actions by anyone made ANY sense this season. This show is set in an alternate universe.... If the writers had taken plot development seriously over trying to rush to a conclusion maybe I could buy some of it..
The actions of the Justice Dept. Employees were so absurd I kept thinking 50 was trolling his audience. And the foolishness didn't just start with this season...
That Kemp and her team copied the 1980 "Who Shot JR" finale from Dallas (which aired in November of that year) only displays a lack of creativity in storytelling. I laughed out loud for real at Ghost's slow motion plunge with an operatic theme song to boot.
The director shot it as a soap opera, maybe paying homage to Kemp's writing style. The audio wasnt mixed well either.
So ... with that said thanks to all the people who worked on Power for six seasons. I won't be checking for January because I do not care who killed this character or if hes really dead at all. I do not care about any of the supporting characters or what will become of any of them. I've had enough and there so much variety and a plethora of content out there to explore on a variety of platforms.
I do not trust these storytellers to present a coherent narrative. I do not believe the producers have respect for their audience but I do feel that this has been nothing more than an exercise in flipping a cable network for some cash and visibility so they can go on to do bigger things. Power was great at marketing and creating brand loyalty...and hey...we are talking about it...
But this is where I check out.
Could say more... but SMH
This show is just maddening at this point.
First of all, how on earth was the arrest warrant now given - based on Dre's testimony? Like first of all, the judge clearly said that the warrant is not given out if it's a testimony of his enemy. Fine, but more importantly - this is NOT how you get testimonies, like consult even the most basic YouTube video on that subject-matter. MADDENING.
Second of all, you don't let a person like Dre, charged with murder, walk free, because witness tampering and/or leaving the country and/or getting rid of evidence and/or settling scores, etc. This is the PEAK of stupidity.
Third of all, how on earth does the story arc of Ghost now make any sense? The story is stretched so thin and out for so many seasons that the writers have no clue, it seems. The story arc of Ghost has always been the one of redemption and finding an honest path in life, facing obstacles and struggles on the way. Now, when it seems that he is finally about to make it, you just kill him off? Get the f out with this weak shit. What a cop-out for a sequel - if Ghost dead like that, I'm out.
Fourth of all, what was with Sachs not being arrested on the spot - he is arrested for witness tampering and planting evidence - so you just allow him time to do that? Makes no sense at all. I can see him killing Ghost and that is the exact reason why he should have been taken into custody IMMEDIATELY. The incompetence of the district attorneys is LITERALLY BEYOND UNBELIEVABLE at this point.
Fifth of all, putting Paz and Tate on the list of possible killers - GTFO. There is no way these two have the characters and/or motivations for this to be done. The only ones realistically, who have both of those are Dre (psychopath) and Sachs (nothing to lose anyway).
Finally, if this is the path that this show is on (it's been like this for 3 seasons now) that you kill Ghost off and think he is the antagonist, GTFO. He is the only character the show was worth anything for, and trying to turn him into an antagonist has been utterly misguided, what hooked me into the show was his character and his badassery admittely, but also his motivation to make himself something more than a just crime kingpin, a legit businessman and a respected member of the community, admittedly overcoming his past and the struggles on the way. The show has totally lost its vision and this mid-season finale proved it.
If Ghost is alive by some miracle in the next episode, GTFO - there is no way that this kind of a shot depicted in the end could leave him alive, if that's the case, then the producers are still just as bad for creating a totally unbelievable and frankly baiting scene.
Rant over and I'm out. Love you, Ghost! Finally done with you Power!
You touched everything that bothered me too. Worst of all is all this shit happened in the last 10 minutes. It could have been a great finale.
Ghost’s story arc isn’t about redemption, it’s about coming to terms with who he really is.
The show has never been about 'Power' or the attainment of 'Power' . The writers said it was always about the ways in which we are 'Powerless'. There are many examples of this through out the show. For example,
Look how Ghost is powerless over his own son.
Look how he couldn't save his daughter from the criminal lifestyle they were involved in.
Look How he couldn't save Angie - the one he wanted most. (though he probably wouldn't be as torn if he was the killer himself )
The PAST only repeats itself - this is the plot cycle throughout . We are all powerless over the cycles of the past, mistakes which can't be undone. But ghost won't acknowledge the past. The past which MADE him, who he is, that he cannot separate from. What makes you, will break you.
The higher one climbs, the harder the fall. Which is why the ending is of ghost FALLING of the bridge, bullet in chest, when he feels at the BRINK of his power In his Nightclub Truth. His lies to Tasha, Tariq, Tommy, Dre everyone else was his downfall.
I recon Ghost will live. Death is too easy an exit. He will be out of action for a while (intensive care/ Jail) , During that time he will reflect on how he get to that point. His political campaign will blow up in his face. His reputation damaged (thats all he cares about) He will be powerless. I recon Tariq pulled the trigger. I think his motivation is questionable. That, of all things, will hurt ghost. And he'll have to live through the grief, that his son is just like him, whilst his world unravels.
What I REALLY want to know is, who sent the shooter after ghost? Was the shooter his uncle? His uncle figured that he killed his father? Wants to take revenge after so many years?he probably knew where to find Jamie all those years. I don't get it. Who sent the shooter? First I thought maybe it was the serbs.
They really doing a who shot JR/Mr Burns plot... That last sequence with everyone and their guns was wild cringey but the episode as a whole was a solid finale.
"nO oNe CaN sToP mE"
Terrible writing . Absolutely trash. This show had amazing potential only to be ruined by terrifying abysmally shitty writing.
A solid turd that mid finale was.
Mad cringe lol. But like you said up until that point it was good
Yea I agree, it was a good episode. He had said in season 1 that his daddy owned a club. It was nice to finally see his motivation for truth
They killed the main character. seriously, who writes this shit?
Why do I got this damn feeling that it was Q, Tasha's new man that shot Ghost?
Lmao I’d honestly laugh if it was Q. Imagine killing someone for a girl you barley know
Could be one of his Ghost dreams for all we know. Ghost knows those people all have it out for him, and maybe his subconscious is eating away at him. I’m just gonna stick with the idea he’s not dead.
If he did get shot, I dont think he’s dying. So we can watch however many episodes with all the co-stars? The writing has been pretty bad and predictable, but I really don’t think it’s a wise choice for the shows direction if it has any left; with main character dying in this episode.
I was thinking something similar. If he's actually dead though then the rest of the season is gonna be trash. Ghost / Omari carry the show lmao surely they can't be that stupid
He's not dead until we actually get a confirmation that he was killed next episode. He's not dreaming because the cop heard the gunshot right outside of Truth.
Can someone explain to me what happened to tommy at the shootout? I thought he got killed
He shot the guy and dipped. It made no sense. Plus the dead body on the floor wasn't Ghost uncle, it was Cedric the entertainer. He's listed on the credits.
I’m very confused, who was the shooter? Who was the dead guy?
Tommy’s pathetic ass probably ordered the “hit”
Tommy set him up
So I guess the whole necklace computer chip was discovered by Benny and thats how Tommy put it together and knows Proctor had it? Or did I miss a scene because how did Tommy find out about that. Honestly I laughed at a lot of this episode I think was unintentionally funny
Tommy just randomly found out because plot.
The writing is horrendous and there should be a sdtudy done for aspiring film students. I also laughed a lot this episode from the absurdity.
Yeah. That made no sense how Tommy found out.
I thought I missed a scene.
I'm guessing some flashbacks are in order.
Straight trash 🗑
Since Ghost is dead, I'm out. The whole show was about James St Patrick and where his story will end. That's pretty much the series finale right there. I have no interest in watching 5 episodes of "Who Shot JR?" because the rest of the cast is of no consequence.
Ghost isn't dead until they show his dead body in the morgue.
Funny ass hell one of the podcasts guessed it would be a who shot Ghost type of finale then they all started laughing and said hell naw that shot would be a lame next 5 episodes.......but here we are 😩
This show is soo bad at times. Plot holes all over the damn place. It's like they have a group of pretty good writers and then in comes in a 14 year old meth addict who says "What if we take all logic out of the show for no reason" and to top it all off, the NYPD chick comes to serve an arrest warrant late at night by herself LOL.
Let's not act like Saxe won't blame James St Patrick for Ghost getting shot!!
Lmao!
Saxe: "James St. Patrick shot Ghost because HE KNEW we were on to him. If you can just give me two days, I'll have the evidence we need."
Blanca: "how do you know?"
Saxe: "because a black or white or Latina between 5'1" and 6'2" walked in that club with some kind of firearm. If you average all those people's heights, weights and skin tones plus the position of the moon last week....it's obviously St. Patrick."
Blanca: "wtf??"
Warner: "nah Blanca, I wanna hear just how crazy Saxe is. Go ahead Cooper, lay it out for us"
Wasn't that Ghost's uncle that was dead in the warehouse he and Tommy were at? If it was him, why was he there, if it wasn't, then who was trying to hit them? Maybe I missed something.
Also don't forget about Tasha's little boyfriend it could be him that shot him in the end.. They have to have a reason for him to be around.. Showing everyone closing in on him at the end is probably to fool you. It was none of them.
It wasn't Ghost uncle. It was Cedric the Entertainer he's listed on IMDb separately from the uncle.
That scene completely Threw me off. I thought tommy died
That’s what I was thinking too
I have an announcement: the shooter WAS NOT Q! Courtney said on Power Confidential the shooter is one of the people you actually saw. Q is not relevant
I tap out on this show and any spin-off. Nobody involved in this show should get anymore film work. Not even as a key grip.
Lmao damn you mad at the poor key grips. They didn’t do nothing. Shit they probably thought this shit was bad too. They jus trying to eat 😭😭
I’m honestly really confused on how these idiot writers think anyone will care about this lackluster show if Ghost dies.
I swear Ghost is the least favorite character of whoever wrote this season and they ain't even bother to try hiding it 🤦🏾‍♂️
What was Tate going to warn ghost about that scene kind of confused me
He was gonna warn Ghost about the ausa raiding his hotel. Then he was going say something about Tariq but I'm confused about that part because Ghost cut him off.
It probably had something to do with Tariq because the Feds now know he was at Ray Ray's apartment because his blood was there at the scene.
You could tell Ghost was going to get shot this episode:
He was talking so much big shit
They kept establishing everyone's motive
He saw 3 ghosts in one episode
"no one can stop me" like 50 times
Tariq wearing all black to the celebration
I really hope it isn't Tariq. He's not an interesting or likeable character, but I'm guessing it's him
Fuck this show. I’ve stayed around despite so many issues and you kill off Ghost. Fuck those next year episodes
See you next year! 😂
Are you fucking kidding me?
Five episodes to find out who shot Ghost? That’s wack. Although the episode did a great job him basking in his victory and having a level of assholery like there’s no tomorrow, disappointed that it led up to this.
Tasha ain’t shit - keep on doing your druggie daycare.
Tariq ain’t shit - bruh, you can’t cry when Ghost don’t want to take the L for you after you became a POS child.
Saxe ain’t shit - bruh, you lost even when you tried stacking the rules. Enjoy jail, prison bitch.
Tate ain’t shit - probably will become Lt. Governor at the end of the series.
Dre def ain’t shit - my daughter? My daughter? Always finding a way to weasel himself out.
I feel bad for Tommy and Ramona.
As much as Season 2 had sex scenes at the beginning of pretty much every episode, wouldn’t have minded a scene with Ghost and Ramona.
I hate to admit it, but... what a lackluster mid-season finale.
Just remembered, Omari's Instagram post from last week was foreshadowing. He thanked the crew, cast, writers, directors, everyone else and the fans for making Power what it is right now. People were questioning why do it so early when we still have more episodes to go but now we know why. I guess it's the end of Ghost.
Okay but did anyone notice towards the beginning of the episode tyriq asks ghost to tell him everything and he tells the story of killing his friend, how he loved him and didn’t want to do it but he gave him one last chance to change his mind. Then tyriq asks ghost one last time at truth if he thinks he should really turn himself in and ghost doesn’t change his mind. 😭
Ghost did get shot but he isn’t dead. I bet on anything he somehow staged it, faked his death. He even told Ramona to wait an hour cause he had shit to do (and no it wasn’t just save the electricity @TRUTH) He KNEW his enemies were gunning for him and to set something like this up. Ghost is NEVER that arrogant or cocky.. He basically was begging for one of them to come kill him. So they all are suspects. The phone call to 2bit wasn’t to kill Dre, it was to help stage the shooting so it could be placed on those suspects, so the Feds wouldn’t be able to have a case on him.. which they were trying all season, especially at the end where Dre & Blanca were gonna get him. Brilliant. Now hurry up January 🤣
For my sake i hope this ages welll
Only character that makes sense is Saxe. Everyone else trying to kill Jamie doesn’t make sense at all. Lmao especially Paz
I get sax making sense and yeah I agree it is a lil over the top for Paz to want to kill James just because he wouldn't tell her who killed Angela , but maybe it was like what Benny said to him maybe (Paz ) thinks he did it since he won't tell her and he said he don't know who did so revenge for her sister tho it's not her , but how can you saw riq don't make sense that was the most obvious for shadowing ever ghost talking about why he killed breeze then saying riq should turn his self in and even more obvious when he asked ghost if he still wanted him to do it.
I'm assuming the next 5 episodes are going to be the characters views leading up to the event of ghost being shot. Hopefully explaining "plot holes" like Tommy finding out about the recording and disappearing after the shooting. Why Tate was going to warn ghost about the raid on his hotel. Tariq's case on the murde getting worse against him etc. And then the aftermath. Personally I feel like it was Tariq that murdered ghost, he was the one that was closest to ghost at the time of the event as he may not have even left the club but just waited for everyone to leave. Then there's clear foreshadowing, ghost said he gave breeze a second chance but he didn't take it, tariq then gave ghost a second chance but ghost still didn't take it.
I really hope not. It's an awful use of the last five episodes of the show
“As your maker I release you from being my wife”...da fuq? I thought I was watching true blood or something.
"I rescind you of my invitation."
At this point, it had better be either Tommy or Dre that had killed Ghost because, I'll only accept those two killing him and I swear, if they had Tariq or Tasha kill Ghost's just a push off Power Book 2, then that's the dumbest writing ever, including killing off the main character and leaving not so many compelling choices to tune in besides only one and I don't think that'll be enough.
No cap terrible episode. Not even mad just disappointed honestly. This mid-season finale had so much potential
Is that it? Fuck. This. Shit.
How the fuck does Dee keep surviving. How is he allowed out so fast?
Mans locked up for one murder......but walks by flipping on a person for.....wait....you guessed it...one murder. The fuck is this circus ass looney tunes fuckery
This episode and season was super trash.
Two theories-
The call to 2bit was to stage this shooting. It was almost like he knew this would happen. Eyes closed and everything. A shot Ghost would make him untouchable, Dre would flee the country and Blanca would get fired. People with sympathize and he and lady will win the vote LOL.
2 - I assume the only people that know back entrances are Tasha, Tariq, Tate, Dre and TOMMY. I’m leaning on Tariq since his Ghost wants to turn him in or Dre.
All in all - The plot holes have been ridiculous.
At some point I even thought Jeff Bezos (the bald AUSA) was trying to protect Ghost.
Man Tate be looking all sorts of loony.
Im fucking pissed bruh are you fucking kidding me with this shit
Saxe, Dre, (how the fuck did this guy get out of jail??) Angela’s sister, Tasha and Tommy were all outside. Tariq was walking down some stairs.
Ghost was on the mezzanine (in door balcony), which, I THINK, is the (excluding Ghost’s office) highest floor in Truth. Also, somebody was trying to kill Ghost and/or Tommy. Tommy said there were two shooters, but we only saw one (dead) shooter. Maybe the other shooter came back to finish the job?
It’s probably a “minor” character we all saw but completely forgot about.
Regardless who did it, this was a very solid episode. Ghost was truly a savage in this episode. Excellent performance.
I know this is all a work of fiction, but they really make a complete mockery of the legal system.
Dre is arrested for murdering Jason, so he cuts a deal to flip on James, and gets immunity by testifying that he was there to witness Ghost kill Silva.
For Dre to somehow walk after “killing” Jason, he’d have to bring down an entire cartel. You’re literally letting Dre walk after being arrested for killing one person, by him confessing about James killing one person.
This episode is going to get trashed, but I thought it was good relative to the rest of the season (not saying much), minus the last minute or two. Thought it was going to turn up with some more action. Now it’s a whodunit smh. I honestly can’t wait til it’s over
The most likely one who shot ghost is Tariq, in my opinion. Looked like his anger reached a boilin point when Ghost sat him down tellin him to go ahead and tell on himself. Probably talkin to Tasha too and they coordinated.
The cops are super incompetent, I swear they are their own worst enemies.
- Tommy: why is he mad, he got what he wanted to be rid of Ghost. Now he is mad he doesn't get his BFF.
Also I have a crush on Omari so if he is gone I'm not coming back.
Someone please tell me that for 78 minutes, I sat and waited for Who Shot JR ? I mean who shot Ghost. There have been alot of twist and turns in the series. Some baffling plots and some brilliant writing. Don't know if I can eagerly wait for Ghost 2.0.
Ghost sees Ghosts everywhere and having each interaction be a way to move on from each of them was actually kinda nice.
What was the whole Tommy at the docks thing about, who were the random people trying to kill them and why did Tommy just vanish?
Dre could escape the pull of a black hole, he always gets away. Feels like Spanky and 2-Bit were supposed to kill him in jail but then he managed to escape again.
I think Jamie will die some point in the next 5 episodes and someone will inherit the name Ghost and I guarantee it will make us all mad lol. Still looking forward to it though. I think it was Tariq
This season is pretty trash, but GoT final season is still trashier. But Power has 5 more episodes to take the lead.
Why is everyone convinced Ghost is dead?
He's Alive, IMDB list nurses, doctors, and patients in the next few episodes.
The shooter goes to jail as they list inmates too
Second half of the season is gonna be like the Kevin finnerty episodes from the Sopranos
I really don't understand that shootout scene. Was the dead shooter the guy James bought the space from? Tommy also said there's two, but it was only that one shooter. Was it set up by Tommy, with Tommy being the second shooter?
I think Tariq killed Ghost. The entire episode Ghost was adamant about sending him to jail. Then in the last scene at Truth Tariq asks him one more time if he was serious about turning him in.. Once he got that answer he knew he had to kill Ghost
Just like ghost did breeze.
There is no way Jaime is dead, that man is so ripped, them muscles probably stopped the bullet
Wow... what a terrible way to end things. It became quite obvious that they were setting up a “whodunnit” for the finale.
Overall, I’ve been pretty on board with Power this season. It’s not been perfect or even good at times, but I’ve been on board. This was just terrible though.
IF Ghost is actually dead (which he should be after falling off that balcony), then we’ve essentially lost the chance of getting any meaningful emotion or resolution from his death. Considering the amount of people he’s fucked over, we’ve lost the weight of him receiving the fruit of his sins, all for a whodunnit that’s straight out of a soap opera.
Everyone is hating on MAJOR plot-holes this episode but I think they obviously did it for a reason.. The next 5 episodes will be filling in the missing cracks of this episode (where Tommy went after the shootout, who actually went into the club and shot Ghost) etc. I believe this will ultimately lead up to the scene where Ghost gets shot and thats where the show will end in the finale.
If that's the case... Lets fill them in:
I get it the writing is absolute trash, but we're not going to sit here and act ike Courtney Kemp and the writers don't start a story but not finish it. If she was more caught up in the spinoff, admit that. But the show is TRASH now, and if the last 20 or so bulletpoints that haven't been answered (there's more I swear but for the sake of time..). A LOT of cracks to fill in 5 episodes that they didn't have to fill just keeping the story simple.
That would be a HORRIBLE ending.
I love how Blanca shows up solo to serve a warrant to Ghost. The most dangerous man in NYC supposedly.
Anyone realize during the do, someone was following ghost in a car? The car with the red interior
It was obviously Tariq that shot Ghost. I'll be extremely disappointed if Ghost is actually dead, but I'm pretty sure he's still alive. Great episode, though I didn't really like Ghost's smug attitude towards everyone this episode, as that's going to make people hate you more which increases the risk you take. I prefer him to be calculating and humble, reeling his enemies in rather than being directly confrontational. It honestly felt pretty out of character for Ghost.
And yes, the writing of the show is bad, there are tons of illogical and paradoxical elements, but if we ignore those and just watch it for entertainment value, I think the show and this episode were good.
EDIT: Ah, damn, I guess the new show is all about Tariq. I take it back then, Ghost must be dead or dies within the next 5 episodes. I won't be watching the new show. :/
From the first "no one will get in my way" I knew they were going to kill Ghost.
From the first mean stare by Tate I knew he was involved in it somehow.
I didnt expect a "Who shot JR/Mr. Burns" cliffhanger.
Grim out here dead lying in a warehouse and no one saying or thinking of him.
Dre getting arrested, booked, and released on the same day. Lol.
Blanca out here mad because Saxe bent the law to try and get Ghost and she does the exact thing. Even when the judge said what she used for the warrant wouldnt be good enough to get a warrant.
Tariq having tears in his eyes because his dad wouldn't take the charge for him. Proves Tariq ain't cut like that. How this kid (or man he trying to be) going to be a bitch like that.
wheres ghosts security at tho ? ...
Ghost was a ghost the whole time. Sixth Sense shit
Ghost let go of Angela. He also let go of Raina, so it was time to let go of Ghost aswell. James isn't dead, his alter ego is. He burned all the bridges with people who reminded him of Ghost. Just the way of portraying him letting go was for him to imagine shooting Ghost and killing him off.
I got my money on Saxe.
If James Fucking St Patrick dies to Saxe I'll fuckin kill the producers
That was so stupid.
So, I'm starting to think the writers has backed themselves into a corner here with this mid-season finale, because they specifically said that the next five episodes will start building up to a Power Book 2: Ghost and that the first episode probably takes place 48 hours after the last episode of Power?
Thne what significant event is going to happen on the last episode if Ghost is dead that ties into the spin off? Tariq killing Tommy? Tasha going to prison? Because that doesn't exactly sound like it'll pull people into wanting to see the spin off.
While I do see those two things happening, Ghost should still have a lingering prescene on the show and being Lt. Governor was exactly that, especially for the spin off if you're going to be focusing on Tariq.
Now it all makes sense. We rarely saw Omari Hardwick promoting the show as much as the other cast members. Ghost is dead.
Whatever happens next, everyone else in deep shit.
It was sad watching Tommy walk away with nothing. I thought he would definitely die and I was wrong. Good episode overall.
Tariq -250 favorite
Did they really just end this show comic style??
Wait..this wasn’t the series finale? What more is there to say after this, and who cares? Ghost dead. Show dead.
Side note: I think Ramona is gorgeous, but somebody explain why there’s something weird about her mouth. What is it?
Also, the judge didn’t buy Tate, the planted cell, or the special QCP dirt, but Dre is believable? And Dre walks on murder? Crazy.
Oh and who shot Ghost? Tariq. Let’s bet.
What a great episode!
It's too bad so many ppl didn't like it. After the last episode, I wasn't expecting much, but from the first scene, I could tell something was different. The scenes worked. The acting was better. The theme of the episode played out well and led to an expected conclusion. Scenes were shot differently (in a good way).
To me, it worked. Finally.
Also i low-key feel bad for saxe dude is a asshole but everyone seems to forget that ghost is not a good person even though i like him. That nigga is a criminal! A murderer and a drug dealer!
Tariq was the only one walking away, and also, 'the final betrayal' yeah, we all know it
This might be the worst written show in the history of television
I'll be so triggered if it's Tariq lol. If the writers had written his character better than I would of been fine if that's what eventually happens.
I think it is Tariq. I feel like the last two conversations they had foreshadowed it.
Simon's back!!!
Bruh they made a whole hashtag for the next 5 episodes smh
Plot twist: Paz, Tate, Dre, Tasha, Blanca, Tommy, Saxe, Tariq & Blanca all drew lots to figure out who'd kill Ghost
What a weird episode.
Lmao this show really ruined itself. Horrible HORRIBLE writing , how can you say “unless you bring a statement from someone other than st Patrick’s enemy or accomplish” then the next scene apparently Dre a KNOWN enemy and Accomplish his statement is good ? That’s prolly one of the biggest idiotic things they did because the scenes happened back to back . But I believe they are trying to be symbolic with Ghost being shot . All episode he mentions his new life and at the end guess what ? Ghost is killed and now St Patrick can live
LEgit the only reason I watched the show was to see if Ghost would go back to his old drug dealing ways. IMO a better plot would have been for James St. Patrick to kill everybody who tries to fuck with him ( Tommy, his son, his ex-wife, PAz, Rashad, etc) Honestly my favorite seasons were the one's where he was still in business. Should have kept it that way. The better make him survive that shit and let him get Revenge. Otherwise there is no point and they should just cancel the show right now. I mean I couldn't care less if anybody else died. The thre best characters have always been Ghost, Kannan and Tommy
Damnit man he got shit before he got to Plow Ramona 😢 now that is what's heartbreaking.
Here's what I don't understand and I don't know if you'll follow...if ghost is dead... What are they going to show the casket nobody will be at the funeral because everybody wanted him dead... Everybody's life is now made easier because he's dead so nobody's going to care except maybe Ramona...so where's the shock value? No characters will grieve for him...so if he is dead.. everyone would just go on with their lives ..his death affects nobody negativily... literally everyone will get what they wanted or needed if he's dead...where's the entertainment value in that?
Maggie Simpson did it.
Tariq is this decades answer to AJ Soprano
Rewatched the episode a few times back & like some people have pointed I think the start of the last 5 will be view points from different characters on this day
Somebody is def pulling strings in the back cause a few plot points jump out ( Tommy now knowing about Protctor’s recording and Ghost being truly innocent on Lakeisha , Tasha knowing Ramona and saying she heard he thinks Tariq should turn himself in & Tate getting word about the feds closing in on Tariq cause they only asked about Terry )
Interested to see how it all plays out come January
Also the quotables in this episode
“ I release you out our marriage “
“ Druggie Daycare “
Dre telling Ghost to take that bass out his voice
Whole speech telling Tate he’s a loser and shoulda stayed a cop
Man I fxckin love this show even if the acting is terrible. Great season finale.
Lol Ghost got Avada Kedavra’d and died like Dumbledore.
(Harry Potter reference)
Also Tate’s facial expressions and even smiling was like something out of a cartoon.
Isn’t Blanca working in internal affairs? Is she the only cop on shift? She’s up in the face of Keisha, Tasha, Tate, Dre, Ghost and Tariq plus having meetings with Warner and Saxe and speaking to Paz and serving arrest warrants like there’s no other cops in the city.
this may be a dream because this episode has had a lot of dreams and it’s so far fetched that all of them would go out and kill ghost at the same time.... I feel like it’s more to signify how everyone hates him and wants him dead. That would be so stupid if this shit is real I mean the writing for this season has been on another level of shit. If ghost is dead I’m done watching this show
Can't be a dream when Blanca heard the gunshot from outside Truth.
it makes sense why yet would kill ghost now. Guy is at the height of his success at the expense of the wronged parties
Can’t believe we got a fucking who done it, and if I’m Dre and I just got outta jail for a bullshit charge and saying I’m testifying why the fuck would you go shot someone?
But I don’t think it was Dre, Tasha, or Tommy, those characters would’ve shot him in the head. Idk I’m tight at this dumbass shit
Maybe the shooter was his new gf. But why? Hell if I know but that’s who my money on.
Why so many people assuming ghost is dead?
I think because he was fatally shot in the heart. Oh, also falling off pretty high from the balcony which will definitely snap his neck or break his back.
Here me thinking there were going 'Who shot J.R' plot.
This would made for an excellent series finale ?
I knew this series would end St Patrick dead
All I know is it’s not Tommy, every episode Tommy & ghost are all friendly then Tommy sniffs some coke & wants to kill..if he wanted to body ghost it would’ve happened a while ago..my guess is Quentin or Tariq..after ghost tells Tariq to turn himself in I think that was the last straw
Sucks tho, Ghost was about to smash and gets dealt smh
Jesus, Ghost is on the warpath!!!
Kanan outta nowhere!
What jacket was Tommy wearing?
I think it was Tariq cos everyone was shown walking to the club with a gun but Tariq was the only one shown walking away.
Yooooooooo every time ghost has it all people take it away damn man
I swear if they make Kanan survive a god damn fire and Dre is somehow avoiding natural disasters by hiding in a corner but somehow Ghost dies with a single bullet.
That was a weak ass finale. Im not really excited about the last 5 eps as i think they are only there to serve promotion for the spinoff which will probably be centred around tyreke which i am not interested in.
The only way the five episodes will get me back is if it wasn't tommy who killed ghost but he gets pissed because someone took out his "brother" and he figures out tasha killed keisha so goes on a rage for 5 eps trying to kill off everyone. kill at the end of the 5 eps if you need but make those 5 eps interesting atleast.
I wouldn't be surprised if ghost fucking shot himself with the way these writers fucked up this season.
I hope we don't get GOT Type ending or Simpson Mr Burns got by maggie ending
so was that cedric the entertainer or nah?
Yes. He was listed in the credits
This is the final season, so anything goes, and I remember reading that the remaining episodes would deal with the aftermath of what went down and if Omari doesn’t want to reprise ghost in the sequel then it would make sense that he would die. We all knew somebody would fall, why y’all surprised?
Seriously, if the last 5 episodes are essentially without Ghost, then this show is ending on an awful note. I'm not interested in seeing anyone elses POV of that day either.
