One of the most bizarre disappearances in American history, the Yuba County Five
I bought Star Wars for 9 dollars, Detroit for 15 dollars and Control for 5 dollars. Enjoying all these games and barely had any problems with them. Just stay out of trash subreddits like
Wow, what country do you live in to get those insane prices?
Way to link subreddits while encouraging people to stay away from them.
What's wrong with the PC Gaming subreddit? I'm relatively new here and I like that subreddit.
Yes this is so true. PC gaming sub is the opposite of real PC gamers. They're all Steamtards. Just like PC master race sub is the opposite of standard PC master race users.
How the fuck did you get such low prices? Fallen Order was discounted to €47 and with the €10 coupon, that would still make it €37. How?!
That’s like the “bought too many games too quickly and got locked out” issue that happened during the summer sale. Reddit acted like it was a massive issue.
Tim said on twitter that it only affected 20 users max (or was it 15). Don’t believe Reddit in general
I think it was only around 8 users
Fuckepic probably none of them even uses epic
They just predict the problems
Most users are aware there's nothing wrong with EGS. And are aware that all of those trolls are mad Steam users. They're trying to go out of their way to discredit EGS because they use Steam. But everybody also knows they're full of BS, abuse, bigotry, hypocrisy, the list goes on and on. They're the worst toxic degenerates.
I also bought a lot of games at amazing price this sale everything works great. Also they have the best download speed. Great service! Much love! Haters are noobies.
The Christmas sale was pretty good, brought The Untitled Goose Game and MechWarrior 5.
They're also near 100% DRM free. Barely a handful of games from EGS require you to have the EGS client running. This is almost the direct opposite of Steam which forces you to have their client running for the vast majority of their games. The actual real opposite of Steam is GOG 100% DRM-free shop.
And they say they don’t suck valves dick
There group was banned from steam which was hilarious af
I was on that subreddit before, and i was upvoting and going with the flow so to speak. Then the winter sale came, naturally couldn't resist. So i got a game, then another, then another, then i left that subreddit, then now I'm defending epic lol
I got a crap ton of free games this winter, some of which I really enjoy, so I personally have no reasons to hate on Epic
As with any launcher some people will encounter a problem, be it a game not launching, payment problem, account hijacked, bad experience with support, etc. Epic haters take those bad examples, further exaggerate them and then act as if those examples are the norm not the exception.
Honestly, bad support does seem to be the norm for Epic. IMO, it's the biggest thing they need to work on. I haven't had a single pleasant experience with their support team and quite a lot of people run into problems as well. Many of them posting those experiences on this sub.
Everything else that some people might think is "wrong" I can work around, but there really isn't any good excuse for bad customer support
I’ve only bought one game on epic and I have about 20 in my collection because they keep giving away free titles.
Never had a problem running any of them.
Although there’s no official controller support engine I haven’t found a game yet that doesn’t work with my Xbox one controller paired to windows.
People crying about titles like borderlands 3 not being available on steam make no sense to me; That’s a game developers decision and steam are not you’re buddy, they want your money just like epic and Microsoft do
You can probably add an epic launcher non-steam link to steam so the controllers get handled in steam instead. Works for me with Ubisoft launcher anyway
“That’s a game developers decision” Except it wasn’t Gearbox released a statement saying that it wasn’t there choice to go exclusive to Epic it was there publisher Private Devision that made the choice for them....
Why do you think the Majority of people prefer Steam over EPIC? Could it be because of the aftermarket services steam offers? I can either get Borderlands 3 on EGS OR I can get Borderlands 3 + features + services on steam
For the same price.
Its all fear mongering
When their biggest complaint about EGS is "it doesn't have a shopping cart" you know they're full of shit.
Because I don't like Fortnite, i installed the EGS pretty late.
I always thought that having a monopoly is not good for the market and usualy a monopoly gets pushed back by the politics, but because we are at the games industry, noone cares.
Games! Not Stores!
What Epic has done in the last year, is more than Valve has done to gaming in it's whole existence. Epic also massively supports game development on top of their already free/cheap engine and free assets and money.
That's pretty much what is needed. The Steam fanboys try to talk other people into not buying on epic store only because it's missing some features. Games first, rest last. Free launcher, screw the haters.
I was actually on the fence for a long time before buying five games this Christmas.
Yes, EGS does lack some features - but frankly as a game platform it does the job. I really don't see a trading card or achievement badges as some sort of make-or-break features. Plus, they have been steadily improving the platform, so I hope they are here to stay.
As for all the undue criticisms - as one wise redditor said:
"People were panicking about Epic bringing exclusivity to the PC market, all that really happened was they accidentally triggered the kind of rabid corporate loyalty that PC gamers used to laugh at console players for."
yea. kind of a bummer that i cant check the size pre install, but epic games experience to me has been consistently stable so far, no issues
You can check the size pre install. Simply visit Steam, it shows the size right there. Or Google if the game is not on Steam. Try here...
Works wonders for wanting to know things to do with System Requirements. I use it all the time.
My brother got The Division 2: Gold Edition for £7 on Epic Store, it even linked it to the Uplay account so you didn't even need to play it through Epic, nothing to complain about from me, they're going well out of their way to compete and are doing really well imo
For some people, Epic is unusable and the games are giving them trouble. I don't feel bad for these people because computers have been around for decades. Just because they finally get one that is capable of playing non demanding games and run into issues with something as simple as installation or linking accounts doesn't bother me one bit.
As for Epic lacking features, people will always have something they have to have and point this out simply because they seek out every single flaw possible. If I were to do the same thing with Steam, the list would be just as extensive. While Steam has certain features Epic doesn't, these features have flaws within them. Thus a pretty decent reason for Epic to take their time developing something different. People will find flaws regardless.
What matters most to me about a platform are the games and everything to do within them, not outside of them throughout the launcher/store. All that stuff can be whatever. I could care less as long as I'm playing the games without issues. Which I've been doing since the doors opened at Epic.
Well, I sub to both, no biggie. Only get one source of the story is always bad. Look at both side and make your own conclusion.
There were a lot of people that were having problems when BL3 was first released though. Enough that there was a stickied thread on this sub if I remember correctly.
I am glad they figured out the problems now, but I would be mad too if I was one of the people who bought the game on release and wasn't able to play it.
Don't buy a game on release, problem solved. Let games go through more before buying them. Like patches and fixes and most importantly, price drops.
I've yet to even see one second of BL3 game play. I own the first 3 games and quite a few DLC's to keep me occupied. Didn't pay more than $5 for any of them.
I wish I had some of the regional pricing available to me some of these other countries got. I would be playing star wars or control right now.
I love the egs but it has a lot to work on Countless times I have run into problems that should not exist but I still love and hope that is becomes a better launcher
My only issue is that some games that have mac support on steam don't have it here, like super hot
I really wanna play superhot
EGS was (still is?) tracking your steam applications.
Lets say Epic is tracking my Steam games. How on earth does that hurt me in any way? What they gonna do? They gonna copy and paste my saved game files into their own game? More power to em'. I haven't exactly gotten that far in all my Steam games.
It’s a trash store just face it, it lacks so many features that every other store has.
All these features that you speak of are 100% free to access within a couple of mouse clicks. Steam is free to everyone ya' know.
And has more features that every other launcher lacks
