Icna seems completely distracted st rge player during this at-bat, halfheartedly waving at anything close. After the count gets to two and two, Foxconn sends up one of his patented change ups, and Comit's timing is still way off. The Horsemen's first baseman taps a dribbler back to the mound, where it's handled by Foxconn and sent to first for the third out of the inning.

One down and nothing doing so far for the Horsemen against Foxconn, and Icna Comit will step into the box looking to perhaps start something that would extend his team's lead here in the third. Foxconn looks rather relaxed on the mound, and he quickly delivers the next pitch...
(The swing was sent via discord DM, swing number is 98)
Comit stares down Foxconn, waiting for the pitcher to tip his hand. The first pitch is a curve, low and away, and Comit hacks at it, but comes up empty for strike one. Icna curses at himself quietly, but quickly prepares to swing again. Foxconn winds and deals, sending his patented change up there. This ball, though, seems to be drifting dangerously close to...
CRACKKKK!!!
Comit swings and connects with the change as it comes a bit too far back over the plate and smashes a shot down the right field line. Jim Boeheim takes a few jogging steps back toward the wall, but, soon stops as this ball sails high overhead. Theres no catching this one, and Comit pumps his fist as he turns toward second, the ball finally coming to rest high in the second deck for a solo home run!

Graham Otherie drew the game's first walk, and now he returns to the plate right after Ziff's third. The bases are loaded with two outs, the stakes don't get too much higher than this. Can the Horsemen convert or will they strand all 3 yet again??? There's only one way to find out. Ziff takes a deep breath before reaching into his glove and delivering the pitch...

It's down to the home run hitter himself, Blue Moon Barthelemy, in this high leverage situation here in the second inning. In the first the Horsemen stranded 3 runners without scoring, and now Ziff looks to add 2 more to that LOB total. Barthelemy has other ideas, and steps into the box after tightening up his gloves, a steely expression on his face. Ziff winds and delivers the pitch...

One common thread between the first three batters of the inning for the Mashers was slow starts to the season. This is not the case for Jim Boeheim, who's been off to a torrid pace early and has been punishing pitchers across the league. He'll make his first appearance of the game here at home against the Horsemen with one man on and two outs. The pitch...

Boeheim sees a pitch inside and another outside before Shovel Bryant takes off from first base, trying for second. Zella reaches deep into his glove across his body and makes a contorting throw, on point but without absolutely everything he had behind it. Bryant slides a tad too early, but the throw is a bit behind, and with a nice little move to the side he's able to dodge the tag and just barely hang onto the bag for the successful steal. Man on second now, with two outs and the count 2-0 for

Austin Schwartz is hitting out of the 2-hole for the Mashers today, and after Wilson went down in short order he's looking to stop this first inning from slipping away from his team too fast. Ziff carefully eyes the three runners on the basepaths, before focusing in on Comit at the plate. He was one step away from avoiding any damage here after having the bases loaded. His first pitch is a breaking ball low and away, and Icna ignores it, even though it clips the corner for strike one. Comit glances back at the umpire, but says nothing. Getting set again, Ziff nods at the sign, kicks, and deals. This time, Ziff sends in a hard fastball on Comit's hands and completely saws off the bat at the handle. This results in a weak dribbler that slowly bounces out toward the mound. Artie pounces on it and slings it over to first to retire the side and escape trouble here in the top of the first!

Welcome one and all to Sour Mash Distillery Stadium, home of the defending Liberty League Wild Card Kentucky Mashers! The Sleepy Hollow Horsemen are coming into town, fresh off of their first win of the season over the Cincinnati Longhorns. The Mashers are hot themselves, having just come out on top in an epic 1-0 pitcher's duel against the Humongous Melonheads. Both teams are looking to keep their fresh win streaks alive, one to get back to .500, and one to put themselves at the front of the Liberty League pack once again.
Artie Ziff will be taking the mound for the Mashers, and the home crowd is abuzz as he takes his time making his entrance from the bullpen. The Mashers are heavily favored today, and Ziff wants to show the visiting team why that is. Ziff reaches the mound and the warmup pitches begin. The lineup cards have been exchanged, and this game is ready to get underway. Play ball!
