ANW Season 11 Episode 4 (Seattle/Tacoma Qualifiers) Prediction and Discussion Thread

Comments
WOW First Mom & First Woman this Season to hit the Buzzer this season!
I'm glad to see the women finally representing these last two episodes after less than stellar overall showings in LA and Atlanta.
Wasn't selina laniel the first mom if make it up the warped wall in season 8
i was ready to cry when she made it... so awesome. this season is great so far!
Very relieved that Meagan Martin made it to finals, but damn, that was close. It’s a very stacked field here, so there’s tough competition.
Also, promote whoever decided to have a face cam on Meagan for that entire run. She makes the best faces 😂
Shades of the old Hot Seat, where there was a literal chair that you sat it while you were on the bubble.
Debatable that she really did tbh
sad to see the other girl miss out in such an anti-climatic way though lol. basically gifted the 5th spot to her.
Even though the whole "first mother up the wall" thing is kinda getting old from Matt and Akbar, that run was epic. Loved the fist pump on the wall too
You KNOW somebody had to do it this season, otherwise they wouldn't have been hyping up the "first mother" thing all season.
Oh my he pulled a Issac Caldiero
JESSIE GRAFF IS BACK!!!!!!!!
Geoff and Isaac perfectly balanced.
Can't tell if this is a balance obstacle pun or just comparing the two lmao.
Nah, Isaac did it in City Finals at least.
As all things should be.
Sean Bryan is definitely going to the Power Tower. Probably between Lorin Ball and Jake Murray to join him.
I think Sean Bryan is definitely in the top tier of ninjas now with Drew, Joe, and Daniel.
NOW HOLD ON A SECOND THERE BUDDY
All in good fun, qualifier course was a blast and it really played to my strengths. Sean Bryan is a beast, working ankle or not.
Oh man. That was real bad there for Britten.
I’m so sad for him. He seems like a genuinely decent human being. And sad for us to miss out on potential excellence
The barrel roll looks so fun lmao
I got to test the course this year... Can confirm, super fun. It's a hell of a ride
It really does
Kinda surprised they didn't close the show was Jessie finishing, Lance Pekus must fly through the course or something.
Last run of the night doesn't matter as much with the Power Tower ending the show now
"Olympic decathlete" - fails
Enter the p.e teacher
Olympic Silver medalist skier fell on the second obstacle tonight. College student- finishes. Anything can happen in ninja
Did they seriously mention this was Jon Stewart’s last year competing and just shortclip it?
I was initially upset, but then I saw how bad his run was so I understood. I wouldn't have wanted to see someone of his stature struggle on a single obstacle for 3 minutes.
Yep. They did do that.
I know Meagan wasn’t able to train as much this year but why does it feel like she just never improves by the season? This was her third year in a row failing the 5th obstacle on qualifying.
I think ninja isn’t her highest priority and more something she just does for fun, so getting past the fifth obstacle might not matter that much to her. On the flip side, I was just thinking about how she’s one of the most remarkably consistent competitors. Although it’s been a little bit since she’s hit a buzzer, she always gives a solid performance. I can’t think of a truly “bad” run that she’s ever had.
Idk why but she seems so much heavier and slower when she's moving. There is no smoothness in her movement, the kind of fluidity you get after years of ninja training and experience, of which she's obviously had plenty. Even in this run every time she jumped off something her fall momentum stopped way sooner than I'd have expected. It almost costed her a couple of times.
I was in favour of Martin being eliminated for it would be a good reality check for her. She might have finally started to take her training more seriously and improve more again. It's a shame the other girl didn't realize the opportunity she had.
GO THE PAPAL NINJA (PAYPAL NINJA)!
Haha
Haha, I always call him the PayPal ninja.
This is indoors during the day, so I'm curious to see if this brings out the best in them. You'd think not competing in the middle of the night (with the elements) would be a huge advantage.
Might be offset by the fact that the obstacles look a bit harder. I think it has one more new obstacle than the previous ones have, so tougher to navigate for the first time.
Edit - nvm each region has featured two new obstacles so far.
I was thinking that too. One of the ninjas mentioned that they compete no matter the elements and that's when I started noticing how cold everyone in the crowd looked, and that they even compete in rain. I think it's a little unfair that depending on city, you could have a huge advantage.
Think this is only the second time where the first finisher was a woman? I’m so happy she cleared the course!
NO NOT GEOFF BRITTEN!!!!!!!!!!!
It sucked watching him fail he could have gone all the way again
Who would've thought Leif Sundberg would be on the Power Tower before this?
Definitely not me.
Hard to believe Jessie is 35.
Oh man. We don't get to see the Eskimo Ninja's full run.
Those producers are brutal, they don't care who you are if they could feature one more sob story.
Phenomenal run from Jessie Graff there!
Oh man. YOu got be kidding me. I was wanting to see Austin Gray at the Vegas finals again.
what happened
I think the Papal Ninja got some help from up above. :)
Oh I never realized Ninja Nation was his chain. Thought that it was. Wolfpack thing
Yeah, ninja nation is an amazing gym here in colorado!
It's a damn shame that Meagan Martin and Jessie Graff are in the same region. I hope that doesn't lead to Sandy Zimmerman getting left out of Vegas.
The simulcast triple failure was savage.
Neat run from Jake Murray, but I have to say, his entrance was kind of creepy. lol
Holy shit, that's the first sub-minute time this season.
WOW! Sundberg finished that course in under a minute! Impressive there.
The was maybe the best qualifier episode that I can recall. It was loaded with Star Power. The sob stories were limited, but THEY DELIVERED FINALLY rather than the typical sob story splash out we've come to expect.
Jessie Graff is fricken nails. She delivers. There is something that Jessie Graff has that Barclay Stockett and Meghan Martin don't. I guess it is the IT factor or something, because Jessie delivers when the spotlight is on her where other competitors crumble.
I hope we see Geoff Britten again -- bummed he didn't go further in his run.
WOW 58 SECONDS?!
“I’m home!” Man, every year Jessie continues to remind me why she’s my favorite competitor. It’s to great to have her back. Here’s to her hopefully grabbing a City Finals buzzer this year!
THis was JOn Stewart's last season as a ninja? That's too bad.
Marquez just made his mom proud. Though Nathan did too even though he didn't make it through.
Not trying to be disrespectful but there story could have been shortened to feature nick hanson’s full run
Holy shit that was impressive
Kind of a sloppy run from Murray but I think he'll be top 2. Lorin Ball has a good shot at beating him.
Jake is just hilarious, that is all
Who are some notable competitiors this region besides Geoff Britten and Jessie Graff?
Austin Gray, Lorin Ball too
lance pekus Megan Martin Jake murray
I wish there was a way to keep track of the standings during the episode (like there used to be). Would like to know how likely Nick Hanson is to make it through
Meagan Martin has always had an issue with speed. It almost got her this time.
OMG STORY OF THE YEAR?!
WOW! Now that was a fantastic run from this Ninja mom!
They did my man Lorin dirty with that clip.
Good run by Rowe, but Martin is safe to go to the city finals. And I was getting anxious there.
Oh boy
Lance Pekus may be the only person in the world to do the mega wall in boot cut jeans.
Rose came up short grabbing the second barrel on the Barrel roll.
And the lightning blots just rocked down the rock star ninja.
NO AUSTIN GRAY! BTW Speed Kills!
I think thats the first time ever Matt HASNT said that and it was really odd
Great episode overall, loved the course! I REALLY want them to do more indoor qualifiers, I think the backdrop looked so nice and the fact that they can film during the day would mean my grandparents can come watch. Anyway, can’t wait to relive Baltimore next week!!
I guess my only criticism is why is Zuri around if the show won't let her interview anyone?
How could American Ninja get by with the return of Geoff Britten and NOT interview him post-run?
I don't know what to think of Zuri becasue I feel they haven't let her do anything this season.
Still think they should have brought Alex Curry over from Ninja vs Ninja (still a dumb name too - TNW Forever).
The fact that a grown women just did the floss is making me lose hope in humanity
First episode of the season I can actually watch on time... and then I’ll be in Italy the next 2 episodes so if anyone wants to post those for me let me know!
I could probably take care of that. Just get the thread ready a day before?
Edit: Will be unable to watch it live but can absolutely get the threads up
wtf my nbc has countdown to detroit fireworks....
Try and find a sister station
We need a ninja that is going to be like rubber to beat the Lightning Bolts.
I still think this kid looks like Ninja
Brutal, Britten.
nooooooooooooooooo
GLAD THAT LORIN BALL CLEARED! But sad that he missed out on the Power Tower by a few seconds!
Damn did he just do that in jeans...
Since Season 8, only 5 ninjas have made it to Stage 3 (Drew, Daniel, Joe, Sean, and Najee). So far, 3/5 have earned Speed Passes with 2 more left to compete
Joe and najee might have to fight for it if they made it to the power tower, there in the same region
Fun fact: Michelle Shubert, the roller skating dragon, was also a castaway on Survivor: Millenials vs Gen X
So sad for Geoff Britten, but SO HAPPY for Sean Bryan and Jessie Graff!!
Its Ninja time again!
Oh. This Ninja course is going to be inside!
Can’t say I’ve heard his music
LOL He Broke the course!
They just digested his final run? :(
Yes Sean!!!!
What a Save by Dan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice to see Britten back!
Time for Jessie Graff's run!
Looks like no POwer Tower for Ball there.
Pekus just grabbed $2.5 K!
Vegas just called the Papal Ninja to visit for the National finals!
Did Nick Hanson make it through? Missed final scoreboard
Yes he did
Got a female race car ninja hre.
here we goooooo
Has the Blue side won yet?
Stuck without cable.. how did Jessie graff do
She completed the course and finished 8th overall!
You can see it here (SPOILERS):

Thanks so
Happy to see Nate Burkhalter and Sean Darling Hammond also make it to the City Finals! PS Charlie Andrews also competed.
Wait how did Charlie do?
I was hoping they would have done a woman speed pass. I wanted to see the mom and Jesse on the power tower. It's not often you get two women hitting the buzzer on the same night.
This was probably the best episode of the season. So many memorable runs, and Geoff was disappointing.
Why did they blur out that blue penguin ninja shirt? It’s not blurred out later and it says “scrappy” on top.
I did NOT just hear the word “Fortnite” uttered on National Prime Time television
I mean, it was in Endgame so you know it's everywhere
who made it to the power tower
It'll be Sean Bryan and Leif Sundberg
Facetime for a pig.
LOL someone Tell Jackson to Lay off the Burgers!
THis race car ninja spun out on the barrel roll, literally.
I’m sorry, I really mean this in the nicest way possible, but you know we’re all watching the same show? You don’t need to spell out what’s happening for us
POOR MEGAN! 3 Seasons In a Row not hitting the Buzzer.
True, but she's moving on and I'm happy for her. She's lucky my girlfriend Selina wasn't competing.
