The Justin Verlander bobblehead doll comes with a product warning in boldface type: ‘CAUTION: CHOKING HAZARD.’ Most of the time it’s not a big deal. But in late October...

While the odds are not in the Nats favor, they have accomplished the unbelievable all year. Maybe they can reverse the MN Twins (nee Washington Senators) who didn't lose a WS game at home. The Nats can now win the WS by not winning a game at home. Go Nats!

Rooting for a game 7. Nothing is better in baseball.

Go Nats!! May the Underdogs triumph....we’ve watched them overcome adversity all year and know they have it in them once more!! We’ll be cheering and celebrating at Nats Park at the watch parties! Love our National League Champions!! #StayInTheFight #FinishTheFight #Natitude

I join the comment below - let's go, Astros. As an Astros fan who has seen empty Astrodome, Minute Maid Park, Fan appreciation Day and countless more heartbreaks - I hope they deliver Tonite. I am a baseball fan but not an expert. They say in Chicago - to swing an election "vote early and often." I hope Astros score early and often. I hope they noticed that the Nats lost because they forgot what they had done in Houston - score early. If Verlander verlanderizes top 3 in the 1st inning and we whack Strasbourg in the bottom - Astros are going to win. Last time I checked - a lead always brings home a win. Though an Astros fan - I wish Scherzer a speedy recovery - to get ready for spring training. Heck, we share the facilities down in Florida. - may be he can watch Astros training.

I think it's pretty lame to claim that home field is a disadvantage. It has more to do with the law of averages. It happens all the time that a team that's hot going into the post-season suddenly goes cold. The Astros flirted with that in Games 1 and 2 but recovered. It could be that the Nationals hit a wall after Game 2. I won't be surprised if they do win it, but that's not where my money is. Or would be if I had any. And speaking of law of averages, Verlander is due.

Of course the Washington players express confidence in their comeback potential. What else are they going to say? Acknowledge certain defeat? But from the advantage of distance and objectivity I can predict that it is over. No World Championship for Washington in baseball or in politics. Not this year. Maybe next year.

There are a number of times that a visiting team on the brink of elimination has won two road games. First one that leaps to mind is Games 6 and 7 between the Red Sox and the Yankees in the 2004 ALCS. Washington has Strasburg (4-0, 1.93 ERA) tonight versus Verlander (1-3, 4.15 ERA). Advantage Washington. Game 7 would be Scherzer v. Greinke. I'll take my chances.

@Sam I Am Do you really think Max will pitch Game 7?
Liberty hound (Washington)
@Sam I Am Verlander is 0-5 in World Series starts. BIG advantage, NATS. And for Game 7, it will be kitchen sink time: Sanchez, Corbin, Scherzer (if he can), Ross, Rainey, Hudson, and Doolittle. I like those odds! Go NATS!

Lets go Astros
