Is Shelburne Falls, MA, in the Berkshires? It's not in Berkshire County, nor is it in the Appalachian mountain range. It is, however, about 8 miles as the crow flies from the Connecticut River, which is the lowest point of the Pioneer Valley- also very much NOT in the Appalachian Mountains.

I'm surprised to see the property tax on the house in Massachusetts is lower than the property tax on the house in Oklahoma.

The Tulsa home is very attractive. The fuchsia bathroom scares me but the rest of the house and yard are very appealing. The ultimate tax burden might be painful. All the homes have good square footage so roominess won't be a problem.

Whoever did the remodel, they did a nice job on that Tulsa ranch. Great looking house for $450k.

@Peter Lemonjello I liked that one as well though the thought of being tornado alley is reason for concern.

So nice to see three distinctive, attractive, spacious and liveable homes for less than a tiny condo in my neighborhood. Presumably smaller homes are available for even less in these locations. Especially for homes in areas with real weather, might be nice to know about heating and cooling equipment. Each house and grounds looks well loved and maintained... real homes.

@Deborah Doctor - "might be nice to know about heating and cooling equipment. " If you click through to the listings, you can find some info on that.

Hard pass on all three. They're too big and the locations not desirable although I wouldn't mind having the MA "mini me" house as a vacation rental!

@Left Coast I lived in Tulsa at one point and still visit often. My children went to high school and law school there. It's a beautiful city with great offerings for music venues, an active literary coalition that brings excellent writers to town, an art cinema, craft breweries. Housing is affordable there. That won't last. Most of the new ones built in the desirable older parts of the city are in the $600,000-$1.2 million range. You can still find mid century and 1920's charm in the $300,000 range. It is a more interesting city than you might think and actually quite multi cultural.

@Left Coast The Berkshires? You would pass on that? One of the prettiest locations in the country.

@Left Coast, you would not believe how well situated the Columbus neighborhood of Clintonville is in every sense, but I won’t waste time trying to persuade you.
