Loving the idea of bringing more joy to the stage and to audiences. Dance has fallen into a bit of a rabbit hole of unpacking political realities through choreography and it's really kind of...boring? I'm a dancer/choreographer who is guilty of torturing audiences in the past so I think I can safely say that.

The Mattock comment about tickets prices is interesting. One of the things I like best about programs at the Joyce is how much more affordable the starting ticket prices are compared to companies in other cities I visit, particularly DC and Chicago. And many of the shows provide even less expensive access with seats sold on TDF or Goldstar.
