Absolutely enchanted by this. Disregard Mr. Green. This is an absolute must see.

Don't fail to miss it.

3 SISTERS! What is the point of casting Masha as male? Roles for actresses are scarce, why add to this inequality by throwing a male actor the role, originally WRITTEN for a female and by Chekhov no less. I'll miss this one.

Years ago, I loved the feel of actors voices and ideas just coming at me, actors like Mandy Patinkin or Al Pacino yelling histrionically at the top of his lungs and marveling that he could do that eight times a week, even running around to try to escape the water at shows like "De La Guarda" or "Fuerza Bruta." Now nearing 60, I'm even nervous as our tickets for something so well-received like "Fairview" get closer, and thinking who might enjoy them as a gift. 15 or 20 years ago, this review, while not saying go, would have had me racing the nine blocks up 10th Avenue to see it.

Shorter Jesse Green: “a 95-minute headache.” Despite liking Boyer, Gevinson and Narciso in other plays, I could barely take this one for 20 minutes.

As I've felt a while back from Member of the Wedding, I cheer Tavi Gevinson for helping shows attract her fans (or maybe it's followers) to buy tickets to shows that may highlight acting talents of others in the process, shows that might not have had good-size audiences without her there. (Hey, I didn't appreciate Kim Kardashian at all before the sentencing fairness bill. Not exactly the same as Tavi Gevinson, who got her following with real and accepted though unrelated talent - but sometimes, people use being well-known and a "draw" in wonderful unexpected ways.) Brava, Tavi! I don't know you, but since I'm old enough to be your grandpa's older brother, calling you Ms. Gevinson seems weird, like I'm calling on you in a classroom. You've given more than I'd ever imagined possible.

I loved this show so much — hilarious and moving. It works on its own, even without being familiar with Chekhov’s play.

FUNNIEST and SMARTEST play I've seen in a LONG time.
