Woke Foods, I would like to note that EBT cards (food stamps) are indeed accepted at Whole Foods.

@Jean Manon EBT cannot be used, as the article says, for "vegan meals"--only for the raw ingredients. It's pretty restricted. You can buy a lot of total junk with it, but not a prepared tofu stirfry plate, for instance.

It's great to see people questioning and exploring. Food and food culture are not static, so they can create new traditions and grow the flavors they love while remaining connected to what came before them.

It's really inspiring to read about new generation of young chefs who are spreading the concept of peaceful and kinder diet. Perhaps their own roots and coming from a humble background helped them understand the horrible plight of billions of animals that are raised for food and the ugly footprint animal agriculture is leaving on Earth. Wishing them much success in spreading kindness and love with every single dish they make!

Fantastic! Much success to these vegan chefs!

I am so so so proud of Ysanet Batista and Woke Foods! I remember the moment that this idea became a company, and I saw Ysanet heal her whole body using incredibly nourishing and Whole Foods. It inspired me to feel that health is attainable and that I don't have to apologize for being a Dominican vegetarian. I get to eat all the food that I love and be in touch with the things I love about my culture. I cannot wait for what's to come for this business!
