Well I've never been to Spain, but I kinda like the music....

I think if we were ever rich enough to buy overseas we'd also hire a knowledgeable (if possible) home inspector. That much money and investment due diligence is as important as the price.

Nice article. May I add that Zahara de los Atunes is short of the NY Hamptons for some really fancy people and celebrities. Football player Sergio Ramos, film director Alex de la Iglesia, singers Dani Martin, Joaquin Sabina and Paloma San Basilio have their homes there as well as some well famous media owners in Spain, Belgium and Netherlands. If i had the money I would love to buy this gorgeous villa!

Stayed near Algecrias in the 90s and took the high speed Ferry to Tangier. Should have stopped in Cadiz but time was limited. Tangier was a trip! Everyone else on our day tour were Spainards, who were utterly disgusted with what they saw and would not eat the food - Classico!!

And here I thought that brutalist architecture went out of fashion with the fall of Soviet Union.

Six percent commission to the realtor? In his dreams. This section always quotes the costs relayed by the realtors, without any attempt to verify them. Also, this area of Spain was home to some of the most egregious illegal construction so the advice to verify, and then verify again, whether you really have title is alas only too apposite

Only speak about beaches and beaches, but the most beautiful part of Cadiz is the city, where you can lose yourself in its streets and stroll along its beaches. The most wonderful place in the known world

Nice write-up, but geographically challenged. Cadiz is not a "small island off the western coast of Spain." It is on a spit of land extending from the peninsula and thus is not an island. And it is on the southern coast (or at most the southwestern coast; the only part of Spain on the western coast is Galicia). Was there last week and it is lovely...
