Trump and ‘the Squad’

The squad is the best thing that ever happened to Trump. He should be paying them.
Edward Brown (NYC)
Too late. The "squad" already guaranteed the 2020 election of Donald Trump months ago. Not to mention a conservative Supreme Court for the rest of your life. I honestly sometimes wonder if they aren't being paid by the GOP. Representatives Omar and Talib have pretty much single handedly delivered the Jewish voting block to the Republicans doorstep. While AOC is busy alienating the American citizen working class in favor of an enormous illegal workforce from foreign nations. A very interesting time we live in when the overbearing self righteousness of liberals starts annoying...other liberals.

Calling women of color "loud" among other loaded adjectives is a dog whistle that discredits much of the podcast.

Hey Late Night Funny Guys -- You've been gone a long time, and a lot has happened since you were gone. Yeah, somebody tweeted something. But please don't overlook the Epstein story. I hope you know how huge this is to the average American citizen. We're so concerned that the network of perverts will not be served justice. Please stay on this story.

Dispute? Are you kidding me? That sounds like there is just a polite discussion going on. You cannot make this even Steven! A vicious, corrupt liar, liar pants on fire so called president attacking elected officials with racial slurs, old time racial oft used racial attacks. A deeply disturbed man, deeply corrupted using these words to stir up the worst of our nation, to get elected again by fellow racists. And these wonderful and strong women have the nerve to not take corporate money or lie and are fighting for the rest of us to keep our rights, all of us, all of us. And what is their crime? To actually do their job with honor and dignity? To not take bribes to help out corporations and the ultra wealthy? Sure that sounds as if it is just a dispute. And gee who can say who is in the right here? One must always equalize everything right? NO!

While I detest conditions at the border and the horrific treatment of children separated from families, I cannot find common cause with politicians who call them concentration camps, which, post-World War II, was a term used to describe the singular human-made catastrophe in history called The Holocaust — an epoch that has no parallel (not even The Holodomor). At the same time, I cannot condone the type of behavior and statements that are spewed from the president — not the occupant. He was duly elected in a representative democracy. What is particularly sad is the fact that U.S. citizens cannot comprehend their complicity in why migrants are fleeing their countries. While the U.S. does not share 100 percent culpability for conditions (corruption, drug addiction, alcohol abuse, human trafficking, poverty, gangs and more) in those countries, the United States' addictions to drugs has fueled crises in many countries and is one reason why people are fleeing. Furthermore, the United States has interfered, in some capacity and often in deleterious and nefarious ways, in all South and Central American countries. The effects of such interference are other reasons why migrants are fleeing. That said, the migrants' own countries share the blame as well, for reasons far too numerous to enumerate here.

@Thomas 1. Americans aren’t unique when it comes to drug addiction. Humans around the world are addicted to drugs. Drugs are grown and manufactured across the world. 2. All countries interfere with other countries. The United States isn’t unique in this respect. 3. a. Impose e-verify and prison for employers who violate it b. Eliminate all welfare for illegal immigrants c. Build a wall d.Close loopholes e.Deport all illegal aliens already here f. Eliminate birthright citizenship Once you eliminate the incentives for illegal immigration it will stop. If US employers can’t undercut US citizens wages with illegals and if the US was not rich in Illegal Alien employment and illegal alien welfare benefits illegal aliens would largely disappear.

@Meritocracy. Amen.

If you hate the very country that took you in when you needed to escape from an undesirable one, you shouldn't stay...go somewhere else, as in America you are free to leave
Patricia Burns (Portland Oregon)
@Susan None of the Representatives hates this country. That's Trump talking. Not them. Speaking truth to power is what makes us great. It makes us stronger when we challenge old ideas. We constantly have to look at what we are doing and make sure it is the best for our country and all those that we affect. AKA: The rest of the world. I love this country. I want dramatic change. I do not like many things we do as a government. Especially this government under the Trump administration and the complicit Republican Party in his lawlessness!
cheerful dramatist (NYC)
@Susan It is because she LOVES this country that to see all the corruption and lying and discrimination which tarnish it and ignore our beautiful constitution which says we all have a right to the pursuit freedom and happiness, not just a few rich people, that she is fighting for this country to regain it's balance. Really you think it swell for people to just put up and shut up when so many are mistreated or leave. Why not stay and route out the bad apples and work to make this truly a country that the founders envisioned. But if you cannot understand a person fighting for people's rights and the right not to be forced to never criticize a foreign government because the corrupt government is paid to look the other way, then you leave, you leave. I do not want someone like you taking up space here and being so unpatriotic and not seeing who are the honorable ones and instead supporting the very bad, bad apples.
E Donovan (London UK)
I'm not sure why you bothered to post that. Hating politicians is not hating your country, often quite the reverse. And 3 of the 4 were born in the US. But you know that already don't you.
Joan Farber (New Jersey)
AOC is one of the top speakers in Congress. And she is very smart, smart enough to use language excluding the name Trump, referring to him as the president.. I loved it when she said that the president is supposed to represent all of us.
Edward Brown (NYC)
@Joan Farber Riddle me this...when exactly has AOC been remotely interested in bipartisanship, much less supportive of her President about pretty much of anything?
Meritocracy (Everywhere)
@Joan Farber AOC is charismatic and too clever for her own good. It is unfortunate she is a communist through and through and largely ignorant of world history and of human nature.
