This is why I will no longer watch or support these "comedians" who rely on claptor rather than really being humorous. I loved John Stewart, but this new batch is awful....

@Mystery Lits What is "claptor"?

Our Truthtellers on late-nite teevee have become better disseminators of Truth than 'our' wholly-corporate-owned Mass Media. Thanks, lads!

I used to be a big fan of these late night comedy guys, but not anymore. They are all repetitive, parroting the same positions, with minor digs here and there. They are not funny at all, very contrived and predictable. One by one, I stopped watching them. It's like a club where all members must think and act homegeneously. Boring! Not good for comedy or community. Waste of time.

These (sub- and otherwise) Genuises bring Life into the squalor that is wholly-corporate-owned Mass Mediaâ„¢ "news." Sadly, their Overlords do not allow them to do Irony, as it would be hitting much too close to home/the bone. Love you, Lads! Keep it up!

It's too bad this article didn't catch the veritable steaming vitriol coming out of Stephen Colbert. It was brilliant fury that wanted to burst forth but had to be suppressed for broadcast television. He and John Stewart ought to run in 2024 no matter who is President after the 2020 election.

Years ago, my dream ticket was Al Gore and Jon Stewart. Sigh.

How do these late night comedy geniuses keep turning increasingly serious stuff into funny stuff? Is there a point beyond which the words and actions of someone like Donald trump become too consequential to be morphed into a joke? Hope not.

@A Goldstein -- "Is there a point beyond which the words and actions of someone like Donald trump become too consequential to be morphed into a joke?" 'Dr. Strangelove' was a Comedy, for god's sake. So, no.
A Goldstein (Portland)
@Willy P - But Dr. Strangelove is making humor from fantasy fears. Meyers et al. are extracting humor from real life horrors unfolding.

Hey Late Night Funny Guys, You were gone a long time, and a lot has happened while you were away. Yeah, somebody tweeted something, but the Epstein story is so huge, and such a matter of justice. The average American is so concerned that the wealthy perverts will once again get away with it. Please keep your focus on this network of creeps, is it really a billion dollar industry? See why these people need to be properly taxed? If left to themselves, they go out of their minds with sick ways to spend the cash. How about nutritious breakfasts for school kids? How about an America's Conference on Immigration and Failed Drug Policies, for all the leaders of the American countries? How about repairing our infrastructure? See once you start making lists you can see that there are better ways to spend your billions. Just sayin.

@NotKidding: so exact! and so many noisy sideshows to distract public attention away from the fact that the rich want to get away with everything. while they are the ones who despise this state to the point where they are willing to harm it by evading taxes, i.e. withholding funds to be used to actually build an even more beautiful nation.
