I happen to think it looks funny and warm. I love female friendship comedies and my summer tv bar is always low! Will definitely be watching.

I hate to be a kill-joy, and I know that most reasonable people will see these women as caricatures, but still I feel I should remind everyone that we are not all like this in the state of Florida! I say this as a Florida native.

I tried to watch the trailer and it gave me a headache. Pass.

As a resident of Florida, I can tell you that this is not realistic. The reality is much worse. In real life, 3 of these girls would have babies, 2 of them would be pregnant, and all would not be working. They would be on social security disability or something. And where are the tatoos? These girls look too clean cut. Here in Florida, where the weather is warm and you can wear shorts, crop tops and short sleeves, it's important to have ink all over your body at any cost, even if you can't afford to feed your baby. And they shouldn't all be high school drop outs. One or two of them should have been thrown out of school for bringing a gun to school, or physically assaulting a teacher. If Chinn is from Clearwater, she should know all this.

@Gerry You got it right Gerry ! I am back living in New York ( 40 miles from Canada ) and do not miss a thing about Florida.

Over the past three years I lived in The Sunshine State, resided in Clearwater, Largo, Crystal River, Hernando, Lecanto, Yankeetown, and in my van for 9 months with my mentally ill, 38 year old drug addicted son. From reading the promo for the new show it sounds like "Florida Girls" is the american version of the canadian CBC series "Trailer Park Boys." Writ new and closer to home, a must see in my opinion. My son moved to Florida in 2012 at the invitation of The Church of Scientology in Clearwater; they had a cure for his mental illness. When the COS found out he was not a deep pocketed trust fund kid, they dumped him. His mental illness and drug dependency /abuse was evident when they recruited him. In fact I advised the COS of his issues but they still persisted in bringing him to Clearwater. I moved to Florida to live with him, clean him up, and bring him back home to New York. I failed. Brian, my son, was a big fan of the "Trailer Park Boys" series. He introduced me to the show and we watched episodes together from time to time. Brian fancied himself as the character Rickie in the series, and I as Julian. I suggest TV viewers, watch both "Florida Girls" and "Trailer Park Boys" for a glimpse of our future and perhaps another stab at answering the question of art imitating life, or life imitating art ... and the influence of culture ? Long story short ... on October 20. 2018 Brian died of a heroin overdose in Hernando, FL.

@Charles I'm sorry for the loss of your son Brian. It sounds like you were a devoted parent; I hope you are at peace with yourself.

@Charles I’m so sorry for your loss. It sounds like you met your son where he was in his life and that looks like love. Wishing you peace.
