Alonso strikes me, my family and friends watching last night as a genuine dude. Goodness, professional sports needs a few more like him. Remarkable talent yet humble and generous, donating a portion of his winnings to charities.
Clearly, his parents and University of Florida coaching helped instill some of those exceptional qualities in the young man.
