Andrea, If you are reading this, please respond. How about doing a concert in the American South with all benefits going to Black Colleges? I would love to hear you and some of America's great vocalists sing African American spirituals and even songs by White Americans that have tried to emulate the Black experience in America. One of my favorite songs of all time is "Old Man River". Would love to hear some great Black vocalists sing some great Italian songs as well. What a wonderful coming together. Perhaps Spike Lee and Robert DeNiro could help to make this happen. I hope you read this.

Andrea Bocelli is a very nice person. In addition- courageous. He was born with a disability- the inability to see but he overcame this with the gift of music- the gift of a vision through his other senses.

A moving piece! Good to hear of men having such deep friendships. Billy Crystal’s online eulogy of Ali reveals more of the good character that drew Bocelli to him.

Oh, to have more of this Italian love for humanity, for connection in our own country. Thank you for sharing.

Very cool that he wore the gloves while he sang. Are there photos, I hope?

On the surface, it doesn’t seem that these two men could have anything in common, however, both men demonstrated consummate professionalism, grace, beauty, integrity and a capacity to be open and curious about others.

So, is Andrea Bocelli a flutist, too? ((Just curious!)
