As regards the lovely Clinton Hill townhouse: the article states that the kitchen needs upgrading. Please leave it as it is or at least do not put in stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops...I am begging you..

Loved the Clinton Hill townhouse

The Thornwood house is magnificent. But eight bedrooms! And those taxes! The Brooklyn house is lovely, and the kitchen is fine. Kitchens and dining rooms were usually on the garden level, and even for today's families, why not? Whoever does the cooking can keep an eye on the kids. You're going to muck up the parlor-floor parquet and flow with a big open kitchen? And for heaven's sake, build up, not out back. Why would you ruin your neighbors' sunshine, air, and vista?
