"... it fascinatingly complicates her narration and spotlights her discomfort with being too closely read and understood by another person."
Yes. Exactly what I tried, and failed, to say. Maybe I should read articles first before commenting. Thanks, great review!

Watched season 2 last night after a long wait. Which was worth it. The appeal, to me, of the humor is its honesty.
The sideways glances and comments via the fourth wall are especially intriguing this seas and not just for the comedic asides Fleabag casts at us with looks and observations. There is another level to this season's fourth wall exposition that I won't spoil here but will just say was not only funny but mysterious and also never truly explained. Which is fun , for it's own sake.
I also cannot wait to see the heads that explode over one of the main plot lines. It'll make you think, if you grew up anywhere in the west, about a lot.
I couldn't help falling in love with the new characters, the Woman of the Year was so spot on. I'll be re-watching season 2 again this weekend. 5 stars.

I tried to watch this show at least 6 times on various occasions. Couldn't watch more that 6-7 minutes each time. May be it is not for everyone!
