Zalmay Khalilzad is exactly the wrong person to be our "Special Representative" in Afghanistan. Khalilzad is a Sunni Muslim and an ethnic Pashtun and a businessman, to boot! This is what happens when we have Trump at the wheel. I wonder who is really in charge here, the Trilateral Commission?

Wouldn't it be slightly more appropriate for the Red Crescent to be on those vehicles ? The "Red Cross" seems a little challenging as a symbol of international assistance, in the Afghanistan of today. (and yes - I'm aware that the full name is "The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement,")

We must remove those who preech death. And teach life. respect our enemies and have constructive conversation about equility and living standards with certain conditions being meet. Afghanistan could be a very important part of United States Business providing the bad people can be controlled with certain earmarks. respectfully

Are USA politics headed towards these binary positions?

They have their view of ‘proper’ behavior. US has its view. Drugs [such as cocaine, heroin, marijuana, etc] are illegal in the US; alcohol is illegal. Police in the US have ‘attacked’ sellers and users. Taliban attack sellers and users of alcohol, Not very different. In certain parts of US [and Europe] women in hijab are harassed. In Afghanistan women NOT in hijab, men without beards, etc are harassed. The Taliban look upon many of the non-profits as ‘sleeper cells’. They don't interfere in daily life in US. US should not interfere there. Fair enough.

I imagine that to kill an enemy -- in this case let's use the word 'infidel' -- a person would have to go find them! And if avoiding soldiers is becoming much more possible, that would be a whole new situation.
