from the West coast, working class, there are so many lovely and interesting things I would never know about if not for the NYT. Thank you for sharing this glimpse into a totally different fashion world, a totally different world. Looking at A Detacher's items on theRealReal I can see they are quite simple but lovely too.

Judging from the lack of comments to the demise of this clothing brand, it's quite safe to say that it won't be missed by too many. Judging from its previous collection, the only word that comes to mind, is "ill-fitting." You can use euphemism of "drape," but all its collection mostly looks like a loose big sack. If it looks awful even on the model's frame, what would the clothing look on mere mortals? All in all, I don't get nostalgic, just for nostalgia sake.

@tiddle You couldn’t be more wrong.

@tiddle A Détacher is a quiet brand with a cult following. Even if you don't appreciate it, please don't diminish it for those of us who understand and identify with Mona and the pieces she's makes. I, and many, am sad to lose the pleasure of visiting her shop, but I am really excited to see what comes next.
