Review: In Netflix’s ‘Chambers,’ a Horror Story With a Weak Pulse

Seems pretty clear to me what's happening with Netflix and why "Chambers" has become a series rather than the B-movie of the week that it should be (at best): Netflix is desperate for content and apparently willing and needy enough to turn any half baked idea into something they can promote as "hot and new" on their site. I mean think about it, just because Netflix & co is in dire need of endless new content doesn't mean that such content actually all of a sudden exists. Really good scripts and stories are as scarce as they've always been and just because Netflix is trying to make us believe that they are able to deliver great stories on an almost daily basis doesn't mean that they actually can. It becomes more and more clear that even if they are throwing literally billions into their content making machine it is by no means guaranteed that they are getting great products in return. It's probably because filmmaking is still an elusive art form that's hard to control no matter how much money you pour in it. And that's quite comforting at the end of the day.
