I thought Tom Ford was American?

Are there any marques that are both U.S.-made and affordable?

This is a terrific article on several levels such as reminding us that America is part of the world, not THE world itself. Other countries regard each other as neighbors collaborating for mutual benefit. I am referring to countries such as Germany and France not Russia and Syria. Tom Ford is also reminding us of the damage to our economy by the posssible loss of stores thus employment due to emphasis on internet shopping. Remember that Walmart pushed out local businesses as it promised better products with lower prices. The authors of our constitution sought a controlled democracy as highlighted by the Electoral College which has recently overridden the popular vote twice. Tom Ford wants to highlight the rich diversity of the many cultures of our world. If we let him unite us through our commonalities, we will be more at peace personally and with our neighbors. Whether Mr Ford intends to be political or not, through his role as president of CFDA, he may be able to wake us up to the new reality of creeping authoritarianism. Fashion is art and art has more often than not been a vehicle for political awakening.

I am wondering. ... Would not it be refreshing to wear ethnic outfits to work.. with all the push to embrace diversity. .. I had a sinking feeling that management did appreciate when I wore my outfit ( fully covered , no skin exposure) yesterday...

Adding ethnic elements and styles are like a breath of fresh air. Go for it!!! @Global Citizen
