And the woman did not quit when she got leg cramps... That's courage! Hoorah for her, may she prosper.

It's great to see these young players coming along and asserting themselves. Older players can't rest on their laurels and have to keep working on their games to stay competitive. All of this is good for the sport and for the fan.

Bianca played fearlessly and was relentless. Kudos to her. And same to Dominic Thiem who played a brilliant match against Roger Federer. Yesterday was a fun day for tennis fans.

she has wonderful game. Her shot making is a joy to watch. Hopefully, she stays healthy. It was disturbing to see her right arm full of tapes. During her coach visit she told him how tired she is and her feet are burning. She showed lot of resolve to continue and win. Hope she doesn't turn out like Nadal, lot of talent and many injuries.

@s.khan "Hope she doesn't turn out like Nadal" Um, you are hoping she doesn't win 17 Grand Slam titles?? Nadal turned out OK, in case you haven't checked lately. Kudos to both Andreescu and Kerber. That was the best women's match that I ever watched (that didn't include at least one Williams sister).

Congratulations Bianca! We are very proud of your victory!

What a wonderful victory for professional tennis! However, has anyone noticed most tennis talent derives from European stock? Why is this? Has US and Canadian demography devolved beyond recognition? Very disturbing, indeed..

@Screenwritethis. Ummm...isn’t most of North America Majority European stock? I think you all forget you are almost all immigrants apart from the native aboriginal population. Disturbing is forgetting your own roots

@Screenwritethis "most tennis talent derives from European stock" What's "very disturbing" about any of this? Most Americans and Canadians are European descendants. And lots of non-European descendants are pretty good at tennis, too. The Williams sisters. Sloane Stephens. Naomi Osaka. For the men, Authur Ashe. Andre Agassi (whose father was from the Middle East). Plenty of others. Tennis is a diverse sport.

I saw some of the match yesterday on YouTube and indeed, she played well. I expect her upper body strength will prove difficult for others to counter.
