Seeing the Grammys as recorded - we were busy Sunday evening - we were both jazzed by the opening "Havana" number. What a show that was, all by itself! Makes one want to visit.

It's offical: rap and hip hop are now very boring

Total insult to have JLo represent Motown. Im at a lost for words.

I was surprised to learn recently in an account of an interview that Musgraves, that while she is careful not to advocate it for others, she credits taking doses of LSD for enhancing her creative and personal development. There seems to be a renaissance of sorts in the use of psychedelic drugs both in research and personal use, according to Michael Pollan's recent book, "How To Change Your Mind." Everything old is new again.

Geez, this reads like the Grammy voting was forced to name women as winners. They probably were after last year. Further, when you watch some of the younger womens' videos (Cardi B, Arianna Grande) it's clear they see themselves as sexualized and project that in their choreography and clothing. The media likes to say they are proud of their sexuality and femininity but it doesn't look like pride to me. It looks like they were taught well and are performing for approval.

Feels like every year is Year of Woman. How about Year of Artist Equality

I knew I was getting a lot older when I didn't recognize any of the songs or the current performers!

although initially she appeared to ber Madonna Lite, Lady Gaga has proven to be a remarkably versatile artist.

I’m sorry but with all the excellent talent, why would the producers choose Jennifer Lopez to celebrate Motown. It was completely obvious she can’t hold a candle to Keys, Cyrus, Gaga, Musgraves, etc. It seemed the first part was actually lip-synched? Even the new talent, H.E.R. and Dua Lipa outshone her...she’s an average dancer with a good body...that’s it.

Like many other instances in American life today, people seem unable to strike any sort of balance. In a too-obvious effort to promote diversity and inclusion, last night’s spectacle managed to avoid both.

@Larry: This is an opinion without any substance (like so many other opinions in American life today). You give no one any reason to agree with you.

One very obvious error was not awarding the best rap album to Mac Miller. It’s so obvious that no further explanation is needed.

Happy for Lady Gaga's win. It will be something to treasure, no matter how her Oscar run turns out.

These award shows are like women reminding husbands to buy flowers for Valentine's Day. Somehow, the authenticity feels lost.
